      @@carmentrimm7659 should have said gordon in particular. dont be so emotional and get off his nuts. Techniques in todays bjj are common, widespread and not of one individual. If you want to credit someone, Danaher is the better choice since gordon is his student

    except for when the cage limits your mobility or your oppenents starts punching you in the face. it's good to be mindful that MMA and grappling are different sports

    He made this look surprisingly easy considering his opponent, I think he could have won this with a more in depth game plan. He only got a bit of a plan together the night before which wont cut it anymore if he wants to win.

    ufc commentators do parrot the bottom side escape a lot but dom cruz wasn't wrong here. He's saying you need the secondary leg ACROSS your body to start untangling it which is true. He does not say he needs to be on the bottom side to escape. This is if you interpret what he he said "...the foot that's up in the air" as the secondary leg foot

    1. The cage prevented any turns.
    2. Risk of being punched in the face.
    3. MMA gloves.

    • @jax1529
      @jax1529 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +10

      1. Jayrod turned away from the cage
      2. The body triangle isn’t enhanced by being able to punch someone, it would allow for more movement making it easier to turn
      3. Gloves wouldn’t have effected the escape
      4. Volk is just a worse grappler and so is nearly everyone in the UFC compared to the guys at WNO.

      @@jax1529 “the body triangle isn’t enhanced by being able to punch someone” 10 hammerfists to the side of the head while you’re going with both hands for the leg says otherwise. People from ufc might be worse grapplers because being able to punch changes a lot, same way they are worse strikers than boxers. It’s a different sport.

      @@jax1529 as someone who actually trains those positions in both MMA and nogi, hammerfists don't need to be that hurtful, they have to be annoying. Also, try taking those hammerfists in a sanctioned bout, you go with 10-15+ unaswered you might be risking getting the fight stopped unless it's Mazzagatti in a UFC title fight.

      The real reason we don't see this used isn't because of punches, it's because most people don't feel comfortable creating a 2 on 1 hand fight to get out of the body triangle due to threat if the choke. This will work with or without striking
