So torn, on 1 hand the other team is essentially giving up by putting in a non pitcher who throws slower than my 13 yr old. So if you're giving up what does 1 more run mean. Honestly, if you put in a player that has 0 business on mound then just forfeit the game and fight the next day. If you give up why risk an injury on both sides for a game that's been decided already.
Contracts get written and decided based on stats. This man was grinding for 10 years in the minors to make it up to the majors. “Kick a man while he’s down”. For ignoring a take sign and swinging away? Why would he? LaRussa has every right to say what he said to make it not look like he was running up the score up 11 in the 9th against a position player on the mound.
@@ravenrog boo hoo
@@ravenrog How about if you don’t want to lose a game 16-4 you field a better fucking team.
@@ravenrog Its the twins fault for putting a position player on the mound. If they didn't want bombs to get hit off them they could have forfeited or ACTUALLY PUT A PITCHER ON THE BUMP. whats with you old heads and these stupid rules.
This is what happens when you have an old time "traditional" manager running a team with young players. There is a disconnect and I personally hope the organization looks at this and realizes they have a good team, but I could see players not wanting to play there because of LaRussa.
Trevor, I totally agree with your comments. Baseball may have it's unwritten rules but baseball finally has the fans back. Give them a show...that's why it's called the SHOW
This was why a lot of people didn’t wanna hire LaRussa. He’s an old school guy and I think we all saw this coming.

Dodger fan here. I think you got a good player in Yermin. Guy is built like a tank and has a sweet swing.
I’m a die hard Cubs fan, dislike the Sox but loved seeing Yermin hit that moonshot. You guys have a great team over there. So much talent. La Russa is lucky to have a job, such poor form not sticking up for his guy.
Exactly
Pretty much all fans and players are ok with it. Only the managers and people born before 1980 think unwritten rules matter
@@Jgoldie49 not entirely true. Myself and my friends were born the 80's and I don't know anyone that has a problem with it. I think it goes back even further to like the 60's or 50's. La Russa was born in 1944
You know why they're unwritten rules? Because if they tried to add the to Baseball officially, they'd be laughed at until the end of time.
Why didn't the Twins call up a real pitcher? They are the embarrassment.
The best way to respect your opponent, the fans, the sport is to play at your very best until the end.
So torn, on 1 hand the other team is essentially giving up by putting in a non pitcher who throws slower than my 13 yr old. So if you're giving up what does 1 more run mean. Should he pimp the hr, no. Take it, cross the plate and appreciate the free boost in stats. On the other, they're giving up, why kick a man that's not getting up.
These are grown men getting paid millions of dollars to play a game while calling themselves the best, most premier players in the league. If you’re afraid of embarrassment, forfeit the game. They should have wiped their tears with $100 bills and decided they should suck less next game.
Its fantastic that more players starting to adopt bauers look on baseball. More players seem to have fun on the field.
i think a majority of the fans are backing Yermín here.
Bauer- "A good hitter" *cough* "I'd strike him out"
He might but i don’t know it’s hard for him to strike him out

La Russa also called out Lance Lynn for having Mercedes back. As a white Sox fan, I’m very worried that La Russa could be dividing the team, but I only know what the media tells me. Thank you for making this video Trevor, it’s great to hear that most players are totally okay with enjoying the game and playing the game regardless of the circumstances.
He wont divide the team. He will unify them against him.
Seems like he’s driven a wedge between himself and the team. He’ll be lucky to make it through the season without the team and fans calling for his head.

If we are going to be so concerned about the "unwritten rules" around swinging on a 3-0 count with a position player pitching....then maybe we should just introduce a slaughter rule and call the game.
Facts bro.
Little league 10 run rule. Although theres a stipulation in the rule that says it doesnt apply to games at Coors Field..
Yea if a team is behind by more than 10 runs they lose and the game ends, except in the play offs.

I think LaRussa just truly thinks a guy in 2021 in that spot should not be swinging 3-0. Tony is just stuck in the past. Tony cares only about winning and in that situation he knows his team already has the win, so he reverted back to the old school unwritten rules for that situation. I guarantee he cares about his team because he cares about winning and nothing else.
