You should when you open up the re.ote is unfold the aerial underneath the remote do your set ups then to unlock the drone, hold remote and push both joysticks diagonally down towards the middle at about 45 degrees or just the left joystick only, up briefly, the motors will then rotate hit take off
I had the same problem and solved it. This is what worked for me. Before the motors will unlock, you need to press the "return to home" button on the controller. It's the 3rd button to the right on the controller. I think the logic of this is that this button initially sets the GPS location at takeoff so that it knows where "home" is. So, the motors do not unlock unless this button is pressed even if you are in optical mode. Look on page 17 of the manual.... "please short press the Return to Home button..." Hope this helps, worked for me.
@@IrixGuy Ok, I just did tried this short procedure to unlock the motors. (forget the HS application for this test) 1) Power on the drone 2) Power on the controller 3) Pair the controller and drone by pushing the left joystick up and then down. The green light on the controller should stop flashing and be solid green 4) Press the third button on the controller. (Return to home) 5) Unlock the motors. Push up on the left joystick to start the motors. They will idle and then eventually stop. (Or, press the left joystick down to stop them.). The other method of unlocking the motors using both joysticks works as well. I verified this process twice and it works. Let me know. Added Edit: I did some further research on the internet on this problem. I found this in a amazon answers forum.. "you have to have at least 3 bars of GPS signal before it will unlock. Hold the drone over head just to get a GPS signal, then put it back on the ground and it will unlock and take off. That's what's been not letting it unlock. " So, pressing the 3rd button on the controller gets it out of GPS mode and removes the dependency on GPS for the motors to start. My drone takes about 1-2 minutes to get a GPS lock outdoors.
Just checked out Holy Stone's quickstart video. There's a "pair controller to drone by pushing left stick up and down" instruction before you can lift off. Might explain what was seen.
What your doing is right.. however before you unlock the drone make sure to press the Return home button from the controller until the status on the drone light change from red to yellow if it's on optical mode or green if it's on GPS mode.. after that then you can do the unlock mode.
Not telling ya what to do, but I have the same drone and you need to read the instructions fully 1st before just trying to fly it. Hold the 2 joysticks down to the corners like like the instructions say. I have to lightly roll them from 6-5oclock and 5-4 o'clock. Also read the INSTRUCTIONS!!! @@IrixGuy Well the videos I have seen they have pulled both joysticks towards yourself in an inward angle to unlock drone, I will confirm once I receive the drone I ordered.
I've got the standard HS175 and the main reason for not being able to unlock the drone is the Wi-Fi isn't connected to the drone. I would set mine up near the house and the Wi-Fi would log back into my router.
1. You didn't pair the controller. 2. You didn't extend the controller antenna. 3. From what I saw, you didn't watch the app to confirm the rotational calibrations. I have one of these coming for Christmas; everything I've learned I learned from other videos...?
Has your camera stopped working yet? I’ve had two 175D’s and the ability to remotely control the cameras “just quit.” I have come to the conclusion that Holy Stones are not worth what they cost. For a little more $ you can get a DJI. They are clearly the best in all regards. I have three of them now. And now you can pick up a DJI Mini 2SE for about $250. Check it out. You’ll never regret it.
I could never get mine off of the ground :( I’ve been flying DJI since Phantom 1 but also dabbled with Parrot Bebop, Parrot Anafi, GoPro Karma Drone and Yuneec Typhoon H. Maybe a faulty Drone as you seem to be following the guides correctly. You need to have at least 3 bars of the GPS signal to unlock, Left control stick to 5 o-clock position, right control stick to 7 o-clock position. Hope this can help.
Turn on Drone Turn on controller On the controller push left stick up and down then both left and right sticks down and to the left Connect phone to the holy stone wifi Launch app Go through the calibration process Wait for the GPS to show green in left hand corner of the screen Now left and right sticks towards the center of the controller at 45 degrees Rotors should be unlocked and start up. @@IrixGuy Your welcome. I have this drone for maybe 4 months now. Really like it. I got this drone and on 2nd day, when it is flying around 16mtrs height, suddenly, GPS mode is lost (I've been flying in the middle of the city) , a lil bit of gust came from the other side and the drone flew off without control and fell into the lake 500mtrs away.
