Don't know why people hate on Lennox Lewis for, he was seriously avoided by a lot of opponents. Mike tyson refused to fight him in 1996 and vacated his WBC belt so he couldnt fight lennox lewis who was number 1 contender at the time. Riddick Bowe completely ducked lewis, he didnt want no part of him after the olympics. He fought Evander twice, having a highly controversial draw in their first fight and winning the second. Sure he was KO'ed by Mcall and rahman but he avenged both of those losses. I'm not saying he was the best heavyweight ever, i'm just saying he never gets the credit he deserves.
Not defending Bowe at all, as he did clearly avoid Lewis. However, that being said, I think it would have been a great fight myself. I think had they met in 1992, Bowe would have beaten Lewis. If you watch Lewis around that time, he was too awkward and high strung. He would swing for the fences too much, and be outboxed, perhaps even caught with something big, as Bowe could bang. The Lewis who fought Ruddock would have lost to the Bowe who fought Evander the first time. I wouldn't have bet much on it though. However, a mere few years later, after Lewis lost a couple of times, and worked more with Steward, he became a different fighter. Some may call it boring, but what it was, was extremely effective. He was much calmer, worked harder, was content to box more, behind the jab. He could still bang like a mac truck, but didn't rely on it as much. The Lewis who fought Morrison and Tyson would have beaten Bowe. It would have looked like the Bowe-Golota fights, except without the moronic low blows. Lewis would have worked him over, and possibly stopped him late. Career wise, Lewis ranks way ahead of Bowe though.
***** I said some would call it boring, I didn't really find him too boring. Sure, there were some fights where I was kinda wanting more, could see where he could have ended them earlier. However, I enjoyed all of his fights, and was a big fan. I rank him #4 all time at heavyweight, so don't think of anything I said as a dis against him at all. Physically, I would have picked Bowe back then (speaking purely physically, you're right that Bowes mental state/ fear could have played into the result), but as I said, I wouldn't have bet much..lol. The later Lewis vs ANY version of Bowe, and I'm picking Lewis.
Hugh Mannity like fuck he would. Lewis had skill, bravery and a chin. Tyson had none of those Every time he got in a proper fight he bottled it. How many times did he avenge his defeats?
@@mayorcurley3321 haha deep dreaming, Foreman had problems with outside fighters who have good IQ and chin. Young foreman loses by TKO and old foreman loses by UD.
Lies and deceit... Someone check his coffee he drink and or high... Larry Holmes over foreman rocky over mike Tyson... Rocky beat the greats on their career death bed and didn't go against any killers in their prime... Lennox Lewis would eat his breakfast... Rocky more like number 10
Foreman said Cooneys was harder. Frazier 10x the Boxer Cooney was, and was wiser and more effective than Cooney. Not arguing that. Just quoting big George
@@illahknigge2567 very overrated. Fought medicore opposition for 48 fights until he started fighting elites, that's when the losses started coming for him. if he was as good as people say he is then he wouldn't have gotten steamrolled by Tyson
Larry Holmes was a classic case of not knowing what your missing until it's gone. I was a teenager during his tenure as champ. I always thought he was the best heavyweight from '78-85, maybe showing his age a bit in '84-85. But looking back at a lot of his fights from '78-83 courtesy of TH-cam, you really see just how great he was.
So was Mike Tyson...brutalizing him lol He also got outclassed by the fighter who should really be occupying Larry's spot on the list at number 4.......Evander Holyfield
@@andrewrau7516 Holmes at old age overweight lost to mike Tyson same thing with Holyfield but switch that around on Holyfield and Tyson when they became old and in shape and not overweight like Holmes they lost to bums So why would Holyfield in any world deserve to be at number 4 over Holmes u can make a case that Holyfield’s better P4P due to being undisputed cruiserweight champion but no way heavyweight
Big George Foreman arguably the GOAT, you cannot deny. 81-5, KO'd everyone really. Took a decade off (maybe in his prime), then returned a full decade later and became the oldest heavyweight champion of all time in that run fighting the greatest that were half his age. Only put down 3x in his life, and only a KO loss to Ali, largely due to fatigue.
@@barringtonsmith9147 Foreman landed 194 punches, Ali only 118 (and 76 were jabs). Big George landed 138 hooks to Ali 42, and George landed 5 uppercut to Ali 0. Outboxed? 🤡 Foreman outboxed the life out of Ali. He lost due to fatigue. End of story.
For me this is my top 20 heavyweight of all time: 20:Wladimir Klitschko 19:Jimmy Ellis 18:Jerry Quarry 17:Mike Tyson 16:Vitali Klitschko 15:Floyd Patterson 14:Jersey Joe Walcott 13:Riddick Bowe 12:Ken Norton 11:Charles Liston 10:Jack Dempsey 9:Gene Tunney 8:Evander Holyfield 7:Lennox Lewis 6:Joe Frazier 5:George Foreman 4:Rocky Marciano 3:Larry Holmes 2:Muhammad Ali 1:Joe Louis
Jose Louis deserves that #1 spot. 25 straight title defenses, incredible boxing going forward and backward, 1 punch knockout power in both hands, the list goes on and on. I'm glad you had Larry Holmes so high up he deserves to be remembered among the top 5 of all time.
Anyone can argue certain placements, I think your rankings are very reasonable!! Excellent footage as well. I am happy you didn't overrate Tyson as many uneducated fight fans do. Thanks for making an excellent video!
1. Ali (the greatest, simple as) 2. Louis ( most efficient boxing machine ever probably ) 3. Holmes (horribly underrated, pure ability is right up there with ali) 4. Liston ( biggest surpise for many perhaps, before the ali fights he was an unstoppable force, can beat anyone bar ali ) 5. Marciano (undefeated, absolute warrior) 6. Foreman (immense power, would be too much for all bar a few) 7. Johnson ( possibly best defense ever, well ahead of his time in more ways than personality, boxing ability too) 8. Lennox Lewis ( also badly underrated but great abililty for such a big guy, last truly great champ) 9. Frazier (unlimited heart, beast left hook, exciting to watch, won the biggest fight in heavyweight history, MY FAVOURITE) 10. Tyson ( due to his explosive early/ prime career where he would be a tough fight for anyone on the list)
In boxing record terms ali isnt the greatest his biggest fights wer outside the ring marciano is number 1 never lost could of won more went down once by walcott ali was great but not the greatest
Ali lost 5 fights. 3 with parkinson. 2 without Parkinson. However he has beaten the greatest opponents EVER! That was the golden boxing decade and he beaten Shavers, Foreman, 2x Liston, 2x Frazier, 2x Norton, Williams AND SO MUCH MORE!
Listons my favorite fighter but that's a lie wat u put . He could beat anyone ? Lol no his era wasn't even comparable to 70s,80s,90s. He had a pretty easy era tbh he should have fought in the 70s for real competition. And Joe louis before Tyson? Wtf is ur list
boxing royalty here. Great video. The order will always spark debate, and I'm not a Dempsey fan but all in all you got the best of all time contained in this list. good job, good footage, good tribute to these legendary Fighters.

Starting at the 13:24 mark, the speed, evasiveness, acrobatic balance, finesse, and pugilistic brilliance of the young Cassius Clay - as he renders the hulking Sonny Liston helpless to employ his deadly left hand - is stunning. Speed and intelligence overcame brute strength. And The Greatest Of All Time was inaugurated into a new era of boxing.
If you watch that first fight it was close, Liston was giving him issues, hurt him with a left hook the same round Ali hurt him. Hurt Ali to body in another round.
The fact is that Liston was not only brute strength but he was also a brilliant and an intelligent boxer. That one from Ali was truly a masterpiece, one of the greatest performances of all times.
I have to tip my hat to anyone who ranks Larry Holmes so high ( I'm in total agreement). That is as much Sam Langford footage as I've ever seen in my life, Great post, Great list.
when people put tyson low on a GREATEST list i understand bc greatness has to do wit longevity. dis list says TOP 20 heavyweights. tyson n his prime is top 3. period! DIS LIST SUCKS!!!! not just da tyson part
+michaelbarber29 Perhaps but take a Dempsey..the man sat on his title for 3yrs never defending it once and refused to fight non whites. Top lists are opinion based so one can not really indulge in an argument over what one prefers.
+michaelbarber29 top 3? lmfao larry holmes, foreman, liston, frazier, lennox all certainly belong above tyson, and please dont bring that sorry ass argument that tyson beat holmes, holmes hadnt fought in years and only came in for that paycheck, holmes in his prime had all the tools to beat tyson (for one he had the greatest heavyweight jab of all time). tyson ducked old george foreman in the 90s, but you thinkhes better than prime george? lmao. lennox already demonstrated the tools to beat tyson, obviously he doesnt knock tyson out so early in prime vs prime, but i couldnt see tyson going past 10 rounds, his only chance would be early on because even prime tyson faded heavily in the late rounds. liston and frazier were both something that tyson hated, they were fearless, tyson did a lot of his best work on intimidation, but when fighters stood up to him things never ended very well for him (for example, buster douglas and evander holyfield), liston had also beaten floyd patterson by knockout in the first round, TWICE, and patterson was trained by cus, the same coach as tyson, patterson used the same peek a boo style as tyson, it didnt seem to match up well against liston lmfao.
+son-goku tyson didnt get tired n his prime & understand if we talkin bout GREATEST, im not puttin him n da convo. we talkin bout best n his prime. u say all dat about holmes but wut happened when holmes fault holyfield AFTER tyson? it was a close fight. & holyfield is easily top 10 ever. holmes couldnt beat tyson prime vs prime n my opinion. & dats wut these r, opinions. tyson had all da tools to get inside effectively. holmes was not dat different a fighter n his prime to say he would beat tyson as u say. & all foreman had was power. he was a stiff, sorry tyson wouldve got da best of him. & lewis, lol. name one good fighter he fault n their prime. he didnt fight bowe & he fault tyson & holyfield past their prime dats y u dont hear anyone wit boxing knowledge put him wit da greats. tyson never achieved bc he didnt apply himself when he needed to. all

This is a great list. Im pleased to see Tyson so high as i find that most lists dont even bother including him, not even in 'top 50' or 'top 100' lists. It seems like they just completely ignore how he was before he went to prison and got years of his prime taken away. I'd say your placement of him is correct (either people leave him out or put him number 1, both of which seem slightly extreme). Also you chose great highlight clips to show for each boxer.
On of the best channels I’ve ever seen. My list. 25. Redick Bowe. 24. Vitaly Klitchko 23. John S Soluvin. 22. James J Braddock. 21.Floyd Patterson 20. Ken Norton 19. Harry wills 18. Jersey joe Walcott 17. Shmelling 16. Wills 15. Sam Langford 14. Liston 13. Jack Johnson 12. Jim Jeffries 11. Lennox Lewis 10. Evander Holyfield 9. Joe Frazier 8. Mike Tyson 7. Gorge Foreman 6. Larry Holmes 5. Jack Dempsey 4. Gene Tunney 3. Rocky Marciano 2. Joe Louis 1. Muhammed Ali. Honorable mentions ( Peter Jackson , joe jennet , Sam Mcvea , wladamir Klitchko, razor rudduck , Henry cooper and ezzard charles because he is top 10 boxers of all time but he was a better Light heavyweight.
Although this is a remarkable channel, imho it's criminal not to include Vitali in a top 20. Never really lost, never went to the canvass, 91% KO.. Ok his era was not the best in term of competition, but what about Louis and Marciano era? I think he's top 5 at least, but come on not even including him in a top 20....
If I had to bet everything I had on one heavyweight fighter against any other it would be Vitali. His chin was made from something unearthly. If that uppercut from Lewis didn't knock him out nothing would. He wasn't even stunned by it. ✌
As good a list as I have ever seen..I like Lennox high..I like Holmes up there..i like the old school greats (jeffries, johnson and Langford) in there..really good list!!
lol as the list was thinning im thinking "wait? Where's Larry Holmes?? There's no way reznik forgot the Easton Assassin!" And then number 3 popped up lol. Awesome List and very accurate
Everyone should know Ali would be number one & no dispute about that. However, when Sports Illustrated chose Michael Jordan as the best athlete of all time, that was not a worthy decision over Ali! Of course, two different sports but Ali was stripped from fighting for 3 years, & truly the older Ali were the better he fought. So even though he was past his early 20's & look @ it this way, ( Past his prime ). For The Champ to have his crown stripped because of not going to the war, that was A Man who thought taking life that didn't effect his own was the mind of a great humanitarian. Barley winning his first fight after the courts awarded him to fight, he fought with Fraizer & lost but put up one hell of a fight! After that lost Ali soared the highest peaks. When he did lose towards, Norton, Fraizer, Spinx, he still soared again. When Ali was way past his prime, at least the judges were honest on the score cards when he fought his last fight. He made had put on a show & danced but not enough to win the fight between Berbick & himself!Everyone has an assessment but Sports illustrated was wrong to chose Jordan over Ali.
@I'll figure it out Bullshit. Holyfield deserves to be in the top 10. In fact, I also have him in the 7th spot as well. Holyfield, a blown up light heavyweight, beat VERY big natural heavyweights, undisputed champ and 4 time world champ, a record nobody has beaten yet. Also, if Holyfield hadn't of been robbed in the Vaulev fight, he would've been the oldest heavyweight champ ever at 46 and a 5th world champ. He never ducked ANYONE. He totally deserves to be in this spot
My own list is Number 1 spot occupied by 3 Heavyweights, that is Louis, Ali and John L Sullivan. Number 4 would be Marciano with Dempsey and Jack Johnson in at 5 and 6. Beyond that I don't know, it's anyone's guess really. But these 6 I think really need to be in the top 6 because their legacy and cultural influence for the sport was unstoppable
My list: 1. Ali 2. Louis 3. Marciano 4. Lennox Lewis 5. Tyson 6. Holmes 7. Holyfield 8. Foreman 9. Ezarld Charles 10. Vitali Klitschko 11. Joe Frazier 12. Dempsey 13. Wladimir Klitschko 14. Liston 15. Jack Johnson 16. Riddick Bowe 17. Patterson 18. Tunney 19. Jersey Joe walcott 20. Max Schmelling
Both of the Klitchko's would kill Patterson. Patterson might have been more skilled but the discrepancy in size is just too ridiculous. Weight classes exist for a reason.
@@blacksocrates5071 if patterson was born in the same era as either klitschkos he'd be alot bigger. Similarly, if the klitschkos fought in the 50s-70s they'd be around the same size as Ali, Cleveland Williams or George Foreman.
@@lambokiller99 I'm sure the Klitchko's size is partially due to modern people being bigger. But correlation doesn't causation. There were huge guys going back to Primo Canera and Jess WIllard. Those guys just weren't as talented as the Klitchko's or Tyson Fury. It not as simple as saying a time period account for any discrepancy in size, because it could have been 100% genetic determinism (nature) instead of nurture.
@@blacksocrates5071 primo carnera and Jesse willard were freaks of nature, the Klitschkos, although genetically gifted, aren't freaks. They are just really tall and well built. If patterson fought today he'd be 185cm and weigh 210-220lbs. You have to realize that back in the 40s and 50s, many people were too poor to consume their basic macros.
@@lambokiller99 We saw the biggest spike in average height between the 1890's and 1950's (8 cm's). It pretty much plateaued after that, people have only grown 0.5 cm's since 1965. Weight has gone up 20 pounds. Best case scenario Patterson would be 6'1" 210Ibs instead of 6'0" 185Ibs. And he never had a pit bull frame like Tyson's to compensate for being undersized.
#1 Muhammad Ali #2 Joe Louis #3 Rocky Marciano #4 Larry Holmes #5 George Foreman #6 Joe Frazier #7 Jack Dempsey #8 Evander Holyfield #9 Lennox Lewis #10 Mike Tyson
Nice to see Larry Holmes in there. He must be the most under rated heavyweight of all time. At his peak he was a great fighter, and had everything in terms of boxing ability.
@@o.al3mrey291 Glad somebody said it. The Tyson fanboys think was all natural. Look at killer punchers before Tyson. Lets see.. Liston, Foreman, Shavers, all monster punchers and lets just say they didn't look like Tyson.
@@XavierMarciano You're right, but being a devastating puncher has nothing to do with roids. That is natural ability. Either you have it or don't. Roid only enhance the body's ability to recover from workouts and better protein synthesis. However, in Holyfield's case, he took it to the extreme. He was undersized for even a cruiserweight. Look at the before and after. That's what you get when you hire 8x Mr. Olympia Lee Haney as your BOXING trainer. He taught holyfield how to cycle on and off steroids. Can watch This video over and over Again. Great feeling for atmosphere with the music and beautifull scenes. Favorite boxer will always be big George, but the best....Ali was just more than boxing Thats Why he is the greatest. quality wise I think not a popular choice but Lennox would become Damn close to be the best
Think of how many people Ali beat on THIS LIST of the 20 greatest heavyweights ever: - Foreman - Frazier (twice) - Floyd Patterson (twice) - Sonny Liston (twice) Why the fuck would he need to beat Foreman AGAIN (while Foreman was in his absolute prime and Ali was well past his) to stake his claim as the greatest???
there was a rematch coming then foreman chose to fight someone right before the rematch, in which foreman lost, then retired. If there was to be a rematch Ali admitted he would be in a disadvantage this time, however i believe that Ali would have still won, but probably by decision, as he wouldn't be able to tire out foreman as much, because foreman wouldn't allow the same technique twice to be played against him, Ali would probably dance around a lot this time, agitating foreman by making gags in between rounds, tryna speed up foremans attacks and to make him waste his energy but Ali is way past his prime so he wouldn't be able to dance full 15 rounds as he did in his youth, but neither to say, foreman would have issues cutting the ring with Ali for the first 5-6 rounds, then Ali would be forced to eat body punches, but foreman would be tired, not as much as their first match, but tired, so its unlikely especially as the rounds go on that foreman would be Ali.
@@AdamIqball Well, clearly Foreman didn't learn his lesson about conserving his stamina when he fought Jimmy Young, so what makes you suspect he wouldn't be stupid enough to do the same mistake he did with Ali again?? He clearly used the same technique when he fought Young..... And look what happened.
Foreman fell apart mentally after that first fight. He himself said he had nightmares about losing his title to Ali. Foreman had the tools, but Ali crushed him mentally.
And he never been the real heavyweight- 185 lbs. his normal fighting weight. He can fought at middleweight and light heavy with his body constitution. Because of this- many of boxing historians respect him a lot. Real warrior...
Nice video. I wanted to know something. Why do the biggest heavyweight rankings differ in particular from the pound-for-pound rankings? for example; in all the rankings of the heavyweights Holmes is in fact always in 3rd place, while in those pound for pound he is not even in the 20th place, and in front of him there are the heavyweight who were behind him in the ranking of the heavyweight!
vincespell you are so fuckin right man i got mad respect for joe, this guy was not just a fighter,he was a warrior. fighters aint made like that no more, sadly.
1. Jack Johnson (his body physic for a heavyweight boxer was out of this world) 2. Joe Louis (the power he generated with both his hands was totally immense) 3. Muhammad Ali (his speed, power and class made him a real champion) 4. Mike Tyson (19 years old Tyson with Cus'D Mato in his corner was unbeatable) 5. George Foreman (power which could kill a mule) 6. Joe Frazier (once in a lifetime, pleasure to watch) 7. Rocky Marciano (very powerful right and left) 8. Lennox Lewis (could of done more in his career nevertheless great great boxer) 9. ***** The order makes a huge difference, Tyson did not do anything in his career that would make anyone rate him above guys who made 20-25 defenses, and never got their asses KO'ed at 23 by a slug journeyman. Holyfield and Lewis behind Tyson? Why, in a million years, would you do that? I know, you'll have 40 excuses for Mike, say he was shot when they fought. However when he fought Holyfield, Evander had come back from heart issues, and had looked terrible against Bobby Cycz (sp), he was older and much more worn than Mikey...Why does only Mike get the "washed up" excuse made for him, just 'cause he lost?? How convenient. Everyone at the time knew what Mike had left, knew his age etc. He was still the fav going in. Yet, once he gets his ass handed to him by a superior fighter, he's suddenly washed up?? Holyfield and Lewis made more defenses, against better opposition, AND both beat him down, yet they rank behind him? You've watched way too many highlight clips, and are ranking based on personal likes rather than skills and career. Rocky is way too high too, only made 6 defenses, and against old men. You're right though, you do at least have the correct fighters mentioned... The delusional comment was only aimed at the 1a ranking of Tyson...cheers.
CoronaJoe You over looked the most important thing about all of them except Marciano. On any given day any one of them except him could be beaten, and still I didn't put him in the #1 slot where he belongs by right of passage being that in all the divisions of boxing only Marciano was unbeaten over a career lasting 49 fights. The first time around I did you the courtesy of not mentioning that 23 of his opponents suffered permanent damage in one form or another. The Ali that fought Frazier wouldn't get into the 7TH round with him. Joe Louis fought the toughest group by far I might add. As for excuses, you make them for your list, not mine. As for Tyson, after 1988 he never trained, became a drug addict, and that does count in the real world? The other thing is this. You can play the numbers game with any sport, but "on any given day". That's my opinion about Tyson, and after talking with Manny Steward about it I'll take it over yours! Manny also stated publicly that the only two fighters he had ever seen with one punch KO power were Tommy Hearns and Tyson. Ali of the 70s doesn't get on the list, period! If you want to dispute that here's a quote from Foreman, " I don't think he ever beat Norton." Neither do I George. As you might notice it's easy to get picayune CJ. No one on that list beats Tyson 2 out of 3. In the first Holyfield fight it was over in the fifth round when Tyson hit him with a two punch combo to the body, but he had fought less than 10 round counting sparring in 6 years, and in actuality didn't recognize how badly Holyfield was hurt, so give me a break. Save your alleged superior knowledge for the rookies and fool them, but not me. I was there for most of them as that was my business. I don't need an amateur to tell me I lived my life wrong now that I'm near the end. I lived well, supported two families, and had a lot of fun.
***** Wow, a novel. Maybe I'll read it all later. However, having Tyson at 1 all time displays that you have very limited knowledge on the sport, and are pretty much a fanboy.
It's not about who beat who. It's about accomplishments and legacy. Rocky beat Joe Louis. Rocky isn't greater than Joe Louis. Gene Tunney beat Jack Dempsey twice. Dempsey is held in higher regard because of legacy.
@@DepressionShaman nah its stupid casuals like you who rate them like that. Dempsey was a duck who was beaten by a light heavy champ in tunney. Tyson was an early bloomer who was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time when he best fighters from a previous generation.
@boxing fan uk Not every win over all time greats are created equal. There's politics of boxing, where both fighters were in their careers, how many title defenses they had or how deep their resumes were. There are some very good fights who were world champions who actually beat HOF boxers who AREN'T in the HOF themselves. Is Oliver McCall a HOFer? Buster Douglas? Ray Mercer? Tommy Morrison? Leon Spinks? James J Braddock? The journey every fighter takes is different. Some are late bloomers. Some have a shitload of loses (Jersey Joe Walcott, Ezzard Charles), but they're still HOFers. Some were held back by the politics of the sport (Archie Moore comes to mind). It's about what you contributed to the sport and what your legacy is. Can anyone have a serious discussion about the history of the sport and NOT mention your name as a contributor?

joegould Usually? I never once saw him beat a great fighter. Mediocre fighters yes. Great fighters? Never once. Larry Holmes was already 40ish when they fought. Doesn't count.
joegould Exactly. Tyson was built by Cus D'amato to be a bully type fighter. This is why he would never have had a chance against Ali if they fought in their prime. Ali was not afraid of any fighter. And would size him, adapt to him and conquer him much more easily than Buster Douglas or Holyfield did.
***** Tyson has no right to be on this list. He is the most overrated heavy weight champion ever. He has not earned his spot, he never did anything all time greats did. His career was short, his wins were over low calibre fighters and every single loss he had was via knock out. Please continue to overrate him elsewhere.

Lennox lewis ood fighter, and you have to give it to him, he beat everydody
Hugh Mannity like fuck he would. Lewis had skill, bravery and a chin. Tyson had none of those Every time he got in a proper fight he bottled it. How many times did he avenge his defeats?

But looking back at a lot of his fights from '78-83 courtesy of TH-cam, you really see just how great he was.

The very best movie out there! Wanted to write and appreciate this piece of art. Absolutely love it man! :)
Nobody could have beat the Jack Dempsey that came in the ring aganist Willard. Even Tunney admitted this.

when people put tyson low on a GREATEST list i understand bc greatness has to do wit longevity. dis list says TOP 20 heavyweights. tyson n his prime is top 3. period! DIS LIST SUCKS!!!! not just da tyson part

They are just really tall and well built. joe frszier#8. lennox Lewis #6 get reak frazier best left hook ever and first and third fights with Ali amongstbest ever should be 4th

Where's Muhammad?! Should be at least top 3. Second of all, Lewis is better than Holyfield, in his prime almost on par with Tyson...
+Nick Yushkevich Muhammad Ali is #1 on the list. This person just decided to call him "clay" Cassius Clay was Ali's birth name.
+Nick Yushkevich Muhammad Ali's original name was Classius Clay. Also Holyfield was better than tyson but i agree Lewis should be higher
I wholeheartedly agree with 1-3, but then your list becomes retarded
Seriously the fuck is Valuev doing in your top 10
Can watch This video over and over Again. Great feeling for atmosphere with the music and beautifull scenes. Favorite boxer will always be big George, but the best....Ali was just more than boxing Thats Why he is the greatest. quality wise I think not a popular choice but Lennox would become Damn close to be the best
great vid Rez
I'd be more inclined to believe Ali is the greatest if he had the rematch with Foreman
Think of how many people Ali beat on THIS LIST of the 20 greatest heavyweights ever:
- Foreman
- Frazier (twice)
- Floyd Patterson (twice)
- Sonny Liston (twice)
Why the fuck would he need to beat Foreman AGAIN (while Foreman was in his absolute prime and Ali was well past his) to stake his claim as the greatest???
there was a rematch coming then foreman chose to fight someone right before the rematch, in which foreman lost, then retired.
@@j.l.4054 dont forget tough guys like shavers, norton and even reclaimed the heavyweight title for the 3rd time after he was wayy out of his prime
Floyd Patterson should be in top 15. Muhammad Ali is always number 1.
And he never been the real heavyweight- 185 lbs. his normal fighting weight. He can fought at middleweight and light heavy with his body constitution. Because of this- many of boxing historians respect him a lot. Real warrior...
Who, patterson?
@@alexeykasarin9992 He WAS an heavyweight for his era. Just cos he was 200lbs doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to be in the top 15
How on God's earth do you put Lennox Lewis who didn't fight Tyson or Holyfield til they were past their prime over Joe Frazier.....are you MAD!
vincespell you are so fuckin right man
i got mad respect for joe, this guy was not just a fighter,he was a warrior.
fighters aint made like that no more, sadly.
Stop arguing who was the best, and enjoy this great video !!!
1. Jack Johnson (his body physic for a heavyweight boxer was out of this world)
2. Joe Louis (the power he generated with both his hands was totally immense)
3. Muhammad Ali (his speed, power and class made him a real champion)
4. Mike Tyson (19 years old Tyson with Cus'D Mato in his corner was unbeatable)
5. George Foreman (power which could kill a mule)
6. Joe Frazier (once in a lifetime, pleasure to watch)
7. Rocky Marciano (very powerful right and left)
8. Lennox Lewis (could of done more in his career nevertheless great great boxer)
9. Jack Dempsey (skill)
10. Evander Holyfield (heart of a warrior)
M Doc True, M Doc - no other fighter gets credit because of the "in his prime" argument. George Foreman - in his prime - was everything Tyson was, only bigger and stronger. And somehow he came back way AFTER "his prime" and won the title again. Careers are careers - the whole body of work. Not just the wonder years.
The Yasser Ronaldo HBO Show u mean muhammud ali is 1
The Yasser Ronaldo HBO Show ll rocky marcinao shouldnt belong to thatz list
FUKPATSHATERS! #12•4life fanboy classic. you may look at more that records. marciano fought in a very very weak era and was to slow to ever catch a boxer like ali. he didnt have chin, he was dropped by 40 something year old moore and 38 year old walcott. he then ran away from patterson anmd liston by retiering. this list is just ridiculous. johnson at nr 1?, tyson at nr. 4? No holmes but frazier?
1 Muhammad Ali
2 Joe Louis
3 Lennox Lewis
4 Mike Tyson
5 Rocky Marciano
6 Jack Dempsey
7Larry Holmes
8George Foreman
9 Joe Frazier
10 Evander Holyfield
LMAO @ Tyson at no. 1, completely delusional.
CoronaJoe I'm delusional. Then what are you to have the same top 11 as me. Just in different order?
Amazing video!
And, holyfield above Tyson he beat3 him twice
It's not about who beat who. It's about accomplishments and legacy. Rocky beat Joe Louis. Rocky isn't greater than Joe Louis. Gene Tunney beat Jack Dempsey twice. Dempsey is held in higher regard because of legacy.
@@DepressionShaman agreed.
@@DepressionShaman nah its stupid casuals like you who rate them like that. Dempsey was a duck who was beaten by a light heavy champ in tunney. Rocky beat old man louis coming off a long layoff and nobody credits that as his best win. Heck not even 2nd or 3rd best. Those are between ezzard, archie and Jersey joe.
Tyson was an early bloomer who was fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time when he best fighters from a previous generation.
You can’t say that, Tyson wasn’t in his prime
Rocky marciano for first !!
Manly tears were shed.
1-Muhammad Ali
2-Joe Lious
3-Rocky Marciano
4-Joe Frazier
5-Jack Dempsey
6-Larry Holmes
7-George Foreman
8-Lennox Lewis
9-Gene Tunney
10-Evander Holyfield
That's right, no Tyson on this list! He was and is overrated. I like him but the ends (knocking out low level competition) do not justify the means (him being included on this list)!
joegould
Usually? I never once saw him beat a great fighter. Mediocre fighters yes. Great fighters? Never once. Larry Holmes was already 40ish when they fought. Doesn't count.
joegould
Exactly.
Tyson was built by Cus D'amato to be a bully type fighter. This is why he would never have had a chance against Ali if they fought in their prime. Ali was not afraid of any fighter. And would size him, adapt to him and conquer him much more easily than Buster Douglas or Holyfield did.
*****
Tyson has no right to be on this list. He is the most overrated heavy weight champion ever. He has not earned his spot, he never did anything all time greats did. His career was short, his wins were over low calibre fighters and every single loss he had was via knock out. Please continue to overrate him elsewhere.
Keiser Sior
1-Lewis regained the title from the nobody
2-Tyson lost his title to a nobody and never regained it from that nobody.
3-Tyson fought low level competition and lost
4-Lewis fought the highest level competition and won
You are a crack smoker, TYSON in his prime with his head on straight can NOT be beat, MIKE TYSON is the GOAT of boxing, in his prime and head on straight he is unbeatable

I think you did a truly GREAT job with this difficult task. Of course there will be some controversies but rating boxers, in their own time, is the way to do it....good job!!!
