How ignorant do you have to be to not think of such an obvious concept?

JOKER OF HEARTS i mostly play operations its usually hell. So many people playing scout. I dont even think that the lot of them use the spot flare at all.
James operations and conquest are the best for spawn trapping. And the flare is best gadget for scout, along with kbullets and on maps that dont have tanks n planes ill use the tripwires & put them in high traffic areas
If you're having trouble with the scout, try using the SMLE carbine. It's a good balance between the infantry and marksman variants. It also allows you to be a bit more aggressive and accurate when you do need to make medium to longer ranged shots. Would still recommend the marksman over any though.
If you don't play to get top of the board, but to win the round, you'll see that the point bonus for capping flags makes sense. There are so many players afraid to throw their body on the flag when they absolutely NEED to in Operations.
Excellent pointers, Level, another great video. About soloing a squad where giving and carrying out your own orders, I'd rather suggest teaming up with friends. Being part of a squad that actually PTFOs decently is one of the best ways of making top of the scoreboards and it's so much more effective. You get a ton of points for being the one your team spawns onto, supplying or reviving them, it just totally offsets the other option. If no friends happen to be online, check which players are the most active ones and try to join their squad, provided it's open. If you're a half-decent player, they should welcome the help.

5:10 Yes, the game system will reward you for just killing, if you play TDM. Conquest however is about conquest and the game rewards you for conquering.
Some good tips in here thanks! I myself had issues with my accuracy when I first started playing which turned out to be my mouse sensitivity. In most fps games I generally use a higher sensitivity but in BF1 I've taken it down to 7 from 20 and I'm much better at hitting my targets. Helps me deal with those stupid zig zaggy movements people do too lol.

I already tweeted it to you, but I figured I would do it here to. I challenege you to do what I call "switcheroo." Every time you kill someone you have to pickup their loadout. This is in BF1. The only exception is those killed at long distances and in vehicles.
Well PTFO and play your fucking role and you'll get first many times and makes the game really fun and good to play and then you have the snipers that stay in 1 place the whole game and call you a try harder for actually playing the fucking objective. How is that fun?
Literally play aggressive scout, I go 70-30 average on operations by getting high ground on the objective. If your defending its better, I constantly move and hit my targets it's a ton of fun too, if I can explain it it's like the tower scene in saving private Ryan. Sitting up there slayin. LEVELCAP you have to do a video on the tank gewer land ship, it is by far the best tank. It has 3 main cannons and can kill a heavy tank in about 10 seconds. If you haven't tried it out you should soon.(3 main cannons being the side 2 and the tankgewer main cannon for the driver)
i like the artillery truck because you know what you get: one player annihalate everything. better than lame ass heavy tank where the co-drivers dont get to do anything. tanks drivers should be resricted to 1st person only.. i'm so mad at tanks. i hate being killed by them because they manage to sneak up on me everytime because they are so damn quiet and are never spotted and i hate driving them because it's just a splash damage fest with the main cannon... -.-
There should be a bonus for suppression assist for people who are on objectives (some sort of covering fire bonus) that would be especially useful for the support class. You would get it by supressing/killing enemies that are on a contested objective or enemies that are shooting at friendlies who are on an objective.
I get bored to. But until new DLC comes out I think the best way to stay interested in to try and stick with one class and try to hit Level 10 with it. It's a goal to shoot for that will keep you more interested. When you get to that level 10 in that class,switch to a different class and start a new. You will be forced to challenge yourself and learn a new class that is totally different than the one you just level 10'd on. Plus you get points for doing certain things,using different vehicles or using different weapons. Find out what they are and switch it up. :)
and this is why the scoring system in bf bc2 is the best and is overall the nearest to a flawless battlefield game with everything that the game has in it that rewards every playstyle
Tip for medic and support: Place down boxes at chokepoints, teammates will be attracted so they can get heals or ammo. When they're mowed down by enemies (if medic,) revive them (if support,) take as many enemies out as you can.
Here's an idea for people that, like you said, are killing near the objective, while the teammates capture it: give some sort of "offensive assist" when killing enemy players near said objective. Or defensive assists when killing enemy players near a captured objective
I don't really play operations, but conquest I pretty much consistently am in top 3. First thing I do when I get it in is request to be squad leader by requesting order if they haven't done that already. This gets you an additional 100 points every time you cap a point. Then you literally run around with whatever gun you're most comfortable with and simply cap every point you can. And defend of course
I think that Medic and Assault are the best classes for conquest, I once saw a guy get top of the board and beat the 2nd person on the board while going 7-22 and playing Assault.
I was playing the sunken palace map in bf4 a few months ago, and my friend and i decided that we would more or less just set up a defensive position on the bridge. The two of us made it our goal to keep the barricade up no matter what we the cost. we successfully defended the barricade for the entire match, and almost entirely blocked an entire half of the map from the enemy team, especially the vehicles. At time we had every vehicle on the map and almost half of the enemy team besieging the bridge and held them off. My point is, while we blocked off an entire half of the map from the enemy team, the two of us were sitting at near the bottom of the scoreboard.
One thing that could work is to add time in to the reward system; the more time a point has been held by enemy team the more points you will get. That should keep attract capturing those empty points that can sit forever but prevent fast cap/recap cycles.. Which happens basically if everyone in the map just rotates in one direction capping flags that were just capped by enemy who does not care about defending them.. Adding time it does not mean as much as taking a point that has been held by enemy team the longest time; either it is the deep point closest to spawn or it is the most important point in terms of team win..
another good tip is to just switch between classes. spawn once with assault place some mines, where you know a tank is likely to pass, when you die, switch class, and the mines will lay in wait. I often do this when i dont want to play assault but yet, dont want the enemy team to start rolling over us with tanks.
Drinking game: take a drink every time levelcap says points. Take a shot every time he says score board. Finish your drink every time he says DICE. If anyone makes it to the end of the video I suggest you go get your stomach pumped because you're probably close to alcohol poisoning. Cheers m8s
There's a big difference between getting 1st on the scoreboard, and being an invaluable match influencing player, for example i love to grab cars and race around the map, not stopping at flags (you'll die very fast if you stop) this way ANYONE on your team can spawn in the car, hop out as you approach a flag and cap, while the car continues to the next flag for more people to spawn in. after a few weeks of adopting this "spawn point" role i've noticed you can single handedly turn a landslide loss to a victory. and surprising you can get up in the top 10 on the scoreboard just off "team-mate spawned on you" points. while driving you can hop out and lay mines, distract infantry/tanks and the best part (to me) is getting roadkills especially on amiens, those narrow streets are hilarious because players often cant get out of the way, a few times i've been at the right place at the right time and at least once~ vehicle rammed at least 10 players in a single ram as they all rushed out of a narrow doorway, the sound it made was amazing!
LevelCap i would say the easy classes to get to the top of the score board would be support and medic. all you got to do is spam them bags every where ptfo and support your team mates iv done it plenty of times!
Level, you can thank the playerbase for the heavy focus on objectives by DICE. Or did you forget how you could depend on half of either team in BF4 to be snipers, more interested in "poppin' domes" than actually playing the objectives?
I'm an aggressive scout. Spot flares are godly. I cap as many flags as possible. PTFO to the max. I play squad leader and always mark the objective even if I'm in a solo squad.
I found the I'm at my highest scoring as either an aggressive scout (M.95 or SMLE) with things like flash flares and tripmines, or by playing support with a high DPS gun (Madsen Low Weight or BAR Storm) and Limpit charges.
Moral of this video: play support or medic and don't do anything you want to do because video games arnt for fun but playing it the way other people want you to play
Pretty simple. Play your class to its strength (constantly heal/revive, resupply everyone, blowup vehicles, etc.) and kick ass. Always make sure your squad leader is always ordering flags, and of course play the objective or constantly flank. If you're decent you should get top 5 every time.
I once got fourth on the scoreboard with a scout without capping a single objective. But I was actively spamming trench periscope and spotting players on the point for my team. (when I wasn't shooting at least). Had like 53 kills that match

My method is just medic and objective. If you have a good squad, you'll be competing for first with you and your buddy at ~27,000 score. Also, having a squad leader that marks objectives gives a HUGE amount of points in the long run. If your squad has 30 captures and 40 defends you got 3000 for the captures and more like 2000 for the defends, because defend kills don't count towards your defensive order.
Can regularly get top or top 3 with assault, scout and medic... just play the objective, use your class, i.e, scout- spot everyone, use gadget. Assault- destroy any vehicle, get in close. Medic- revive and heal.. then just get a load of kills/captures,
You are wrong about the 100 point for random capture. Its changed since launch and you need a squad member on it, or has been on it, to be allocated. At least for conquest since i dont play operations.
When you were talking about the scout class, I thought you were going to say you need a supportive team. Because that's what you really need, because you can't take on the enemy with just a sniper rifle.
I finish high on the scoreboard consistently not always top but there or there abouts, but I'm not overly bothered about finishing "top" rather win as a team than individual glory or farming points like so many do! I do think points needs to be revised a little especially points for defending an objective as right now it pays more to capture a flag than defending it.
5:50 The correct play style 😝 Playing objective arguably more helpful more of the time then getting lots of kills. Seen games where guy have massive KDRs but still loose because they just sniped a spawn point with a tank or something didn't cap much.
You can consistently place at the very top of the scoreboard as any class, believe me I know, and in theory it's quite easy. Few steps: 1. Ptfo. I know you hear this shouted from the rooftops in BF games but it's especially true in BF1. Fighting in/around and capturing objectives grants you so many more points than lone-wolfing it and just going for kills. 2. Keep your awareness up. Constantly check your surroundings. Constantly check corners and around rocks. Watch your squad mates back and make sure they're watching yours. 3. Aim. Obviously the better your aim, the more kills you get, the less deaths you suffer, the more points you earn. 4. Guns. Assault: has 3 valid options: Automatico for short-medium range, Hellriegel for longer ranges, and 10-A Hunter for Argonne Forrest (yea the 10-A was fixed, but it wasn't really "nerfed" Still the best shotty imo Medic: The best all around gun I've found for medic is the default Cei Rigotti with the Optical variant. Accurate at range, high rpm up close. This is the only medic gun I recommend. Support: All the lmgs are great after the class wide buff. My personal fave is the Madsen Storm by far (1200 kills and counting) Scout: if you want to be effective up close and ptfo lke a boss, pick either an infantry variant, the Russian 1895 Trench, or that one Experimental variant gun. It's really personal preference. I switch often just to keep things interesting. 5. Use the class you're running to the best of it's abilities. Revive/heal, shoot spotting flares, throw down ammo, and take out vehicles. Whatever that class is specialized for; do it a lot. There's no need letting all the extra ammunition burn a hole in your pocket. You send that shit down range!
Also, my best in a normal round of Conquest was 30,000 points on Amiens. I scored 8,000 points more than the next best guy. The most kills I've gotten in a round of Conquest is only 54 on Amiens as well. If you have topped either of those achievements let me know! Share your war story lol
Bajur's Carl for medic I like the selbstlader m1916 optical bc as medic because you have 26 rounds and it only takes 3 shots to kill someone so if you're accurate then that's at least 8 kills in one mag plus gadget damage and gas grenades which in my opinion are op bc you have 2
Gavin Walker I prefer the Cei Reigotti over the m1916 for it's fire rate. The M1916 is good at range, but in close quarters the rpm can't keep up, at least from my personal experience.

When my friends are on. We always play objective, we might not get as many kills but we at least get the points and the win. We can surely make a game turn around. Its always so satifying taking the win from underneath the opponents noses. hehe

Level, understand this, you're capping or defending the point while standing there,(even if there's a guy at the objective the flag wont be lost when you're standing there) hence the extra points. Almost all operations games are lost because of many snipers standing far away from objective let alone "10 feet to the right".
The point system for capturing flags in objective game modes is fine just the way it is now. go play team death match if what you care about is the points if you receive for killing other players.

For me i am always in the top 5 I noticed calling out the objectives to capture or defend you gain so much score! it's certainly underestimated.

LEVELCAP you have to do a video on the tank gewer land ship, it is by far the best tank. It has 3 main cannons and can kill a heavy tank in about 10 seconds. If you haven't tried it out you should soon.(3 main cannons being the side 2 and the tankgewer main cannon for the driver)

There should be a bonus for suppression assist for people who are on objectives (some sort of covering fire bonus) that would be especially useful for the support class. You would get it by supressing/killing enemies that are on a contested objective or enemies that are shooting at friendlies who are on an objective.

Good combination is Gas Grenade and a sniper. Gas grenade takes away 30 health within seconds and most snipers do more than 70 damage at most ranges.

interested in to try and stick with one class and try to hit Level 10
with it. It's a goal to shoot for that will keep you more interested.
When you get to that level 10 in that class,switch to a different class
and start a new. You will be forced to challenge yourself and learn a
new class that is totally different than the one you just level 10'd on.
Plus you get points for doing certain things,using different vehicles
or using different weapons. Find out what they are and switch it up. :)
and this is why the scoring system in bf bc2 is the best and is overall the nearest to a flawless battlefield game with everything that the game has in it that rewards every playstyle

Tip for medic and support: Place down boxes at chokepoints, teammates will be attracted so they can get heals or ammo. When they're mowed down by enemies (if medic,) revive them (if support,) take as many enemies out as you can.
Here's an idea for people that, like you said, are killing near the objective, while the teammates capture it: give some sort of "offensive assist" when killing enemy players near said objective. Or defensive assists when killing enemy players near a captured objective
I don't really play operations, but conquest I pretty much consistently am in top 3. First thing I do when I get it in is request to be squad leader by requesting order if they haven't done that already. This gets you an additional 100 points every time you cap a point. Then you literally run around with whatever gun you're most comfortable with and simply cap every point you can. And defend of course
I think that Medic and Assault are the best classes for conquest, I once saw a guy get top of the board and beat the 2nd person on the board while going 7-22 and playing Assault.
i like the objective points. Gives more reason to actually do the objective then camping and sniping
I was playing the sunken palace map in bf4 a few months ago, and my friend and i decided that we would more or less just set up a defensive position on the bridge. The two of us made it our goal to keep the barricade up no matter what we the cost. we successfully defended the barricade for the entire match, and almost entirely blocked an entire half of the map from the enemy team, especially the vehicles. At time we had every vehicle on the map and almost half of the enemy team besieging the bridge and held them off. My point is, while we blocked off an entire half of the map from the enemy team, the two of us were sitting at near the bottom of the scoreboard.

One thing that could work is to add time in to the reward system; the more time a point has been held by enemy team the more points you will get. That should keep attract capturing those empty points that can sit forever but prevent fast cap/recap cycles.. Which happens basically if everyone in the map just rotates in one direction capping flags that were just capped by enemy who does not care about defending them.. Adding time it does not mean as much as taking a point that has been held by enemy team the longest time; either it is the deep point closest to spawn or it is the most important point in terms of team win..

another good tip is to just switch between classes. spawn once with assault place some mines, where you know a tank is likely to pass, when you die, switch class, and the mines will lay in wait. I often do this when i dont want to play assault but yet, dont want the enemy team to start rolling over us with tanks.
Drinking game: take a drink every time levelcap says points. Take a shot every time he says score board. Finish your drink every time he says DICE.

There's a big difference between getting 1st on the scoreboard, and being an invaluable match influencing player, for example i love to grab cars and race around the map, not stopping at flags (you'll die very fast if you stop) this way ANYONE on your team can spawn in the car, hop out as you approach a flag and cap, while the car continues to the next flag for more people to spawn in. after a few weeks of adopting this "spawn point" role i've noticed you can single handedly turn a landslide loss to a victory. and surprising you can get up in the top 10 on the scoreboard just off "team-mate spawned on you" points. while driving you can hop out and lay mines, distract infantry/tanks and the best part (to me) is getting roadkills especially on amiens, those narrow streets are hilarious because players often cant get out of the way, a few times i've been at the right place at the right time and at least once~ vehicle rammed at least 10 players in a single ram as they all rushed out of a narrow doorway, the sound it made was amazing!
LevelCap i would say the easy classes to get to the top of the score board would be support and medic. all you got to do is spam them bags every where ptfo and support your team mates iv done it plenty of times!

I'm an aggressive scout. Spot flares are godly. I cap as many flags as possible. PTFO to the max. I play squad leader and always mark the objective even if I'm in a solo squad.

I found the I'm at my highest scoring as either an aggressive scout (M.95 or SMLE) with things like flash flares and tripmines, or by playing support with a high DPS gun (Madsen Low Weight or BAR Storm) and Limpit charges.
Moral of this video: play support or medic and don't do anything you want to do because video games arnt for fun but playing it the way other people want you to play
You chose the two classes that don't let you help your squad at all (ammo or health) TYPICAL, LEVEL!
Pretty simple. Play your class to its strength (constantly heal/revive, resupply everyone, blowup vehicles, etc.) and kick ass. Always make sure your squad leader is always ordering flags, and of course play the objective or constantly flank. If you're decent you should get top 5 every time.
I once got fourth on the scoreboard with a scout without capping a single objective. But I was actively spamming trench periscope and spotting players on the point for my team. (when I wasn't shooting at least). Had like 53 kills that match

My method is just medic and objective. If you have a good squad, you'll be competing for first with you and your buddy at ~27,000 score. Also, having a squad leader that marks objectives gives a HUGE amount of points in the long run. If your squad has 30 captures and 40 defends you got 3000 for the captures and more like 2000 for the defends, because defend kills don't count towards your defensive order.
Can regularly get top or top 3 with assault, scout and medic... just play the objective, use your class, i.e, scout- spot everyone, use gadget. Assault- destroy any vehicle, get in close. Medic- revive and heal.. then just get a load of kills/captures,
You are wrong about the 100 point for random capture. Its changed since launch and you need a squad member on it, or has been on it, to be allocated. At least for conquest since i dont play operations.
When you were talking about the scout class, I thought you were going to say you need a supportive team. Because that's what you really need, because you can't take on the enemy with just a sniper rifle.
If you play scout: Use the flare and shoot it in highly congested areas. Also, I think the higher you shoot it, the longer it's active.
I finish high on the scoreboard consistently not always top but there or there abouts, but I'm not overly bothered about finishing "top" rather win as a team than individual glory or farming points like so many do! I do think points needs to be revised a little especially points for defending an objective as right now it pays more to capture a flag than defending it.

5:50 The correct play style 😝 Playing objective arguably more helpful more of the time then getting lots of kills.
Seen games where guy have massive KDRs but still loose because they just sniped a spawn point with a tank or something didn't cap much.
You can consistently place at the very top of the scoreboard as any class, believe me I know, and in theory it's quite easy. Few steps:
1. Ptfo. I know you hear this shouted from the rooftops in BF games but it's especially true in BF1. Fighting in/around and capturing objectives grants you so many more points than lone-wolfing it and just going for kills.
2. Keep your awareness up. Constantly check your surroundings. Constantly check corners and around rocks. Watch your squad mates back and make sure they're watching yours.
3. Aim. Obviously the better your aim, the more kills you get, the less deaths you suffer, the more points you earn.
4. Guns.
Assault: has 3 valid options: Automatico for short-medium range, Hellriegel for longer ranges, and 10-A Hunter for Argonne Forrest (yea the 10-A was fixed, but it wasn't really "nerfed" Still the best shotty imo
Medic: The best all around gun I've found for medic is the default Cei Rigotti with the Optical variant. Accurate at range, high rpm up close. This is the only medic gun I recommend.
Support: All the lmgs are great after the class wide buff. My personal fave is the Madsen Storm by far (1200 kills and counting)
Scout: if you want to be effective up close and ptfo lke a boss, pick either an infantry variant, the Russian 1895 Trench, or that one Experimental variant gun. It's really personal preference. I switch often just to keep things interesting.
5. Use the class you're running to the best of it's abilities. Revive/heal, shoot spotting flares, throw down ammo, and take out vehicles. Whatever that class is specialized for; do it a lot. There's no need letting all the extra ammunition burn a hole in your pocket. You send that shit down range!
Also, my best in a normal round of Conquest was 30,000 points on Amiens. I scored 8,000 points more than the next best guy.
The most kills I've gotten in a round of Conquest is only 54 on Amiens as well.

Bajur's Carl for medic I like the selbstlader m1916 optical bc as medic because you have 26 rounds and it only takes 3 shots to kill someone so if you're accurate then that's at least 8 kills in one mag plus gadget damage and gas grenades which in my opinion are op bc you have 2
Gavin Walker I prefer the Cei Reigotti over the m1916 for it's fire rate. The M1916 is good at range, but in close quarters the rpm can't keep up, at least from my personal experience.
For scout use carbine variants in close quarters and for support use the BAR M1918 Storm it's so good
Samuel J. Stuhlinger I don't care much for the Bar. The magazine size is too small for me and soo many people use it already that I want to be different, and stubborn I guess. The Madsen is plenty good for my liking.

Either play scout or use a lot of explosives. They (scouts) got a huge buff and explosive spam is out of control.
how do you get highlighted? ive had cavalry scores of 15000 or over and I still lose highlight to a pilot who only scored 7000

When my friends are on. We always play objective, we might not get as many kills but we at least get the points and the win. We can surely make a game turn around. Its always so satifying taking the win from underneath the opponents noses. hehe

Level, understand this, you're capping or defending the point while standing there,(even if there's a guy at the objective the flag wont be lost when you're standing there) hence the extra points. Almost all operations games are lost because of many snipers standing far away from objective let alone "10 feet to the right".
The point system for capturing flags in objective game modes is fine just the way it is now. go play team death match if what you care about is the points if you receive for killing other players.
