Good Evening Sam, That is a wonderful running session of Pre-Grouping Steam Locomotives, I really adore these old fashioned locomotives. The vaule gear on the GNR N2 Tank Engines are Stephenson. My favourite locomotive is the South Eastern & Chatham Railway H Class Tank Engine, after all I too own the new Hornby R3538 H Class Tank Engine in SECR Green livery. I'm like your new Bachmann GCR D11, I too own a Bachmann D11, a NRM Exclusive of No.506 Butler Henderson, the preserved example. I cannot wait to see the review of your Bachmann D11 very soon. Onces again a wonderful running session. 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 10/10 😃
Thanks very much Jordan, really glad you enjoyed it! Yes that's right - ahh great choice, she really does shine! Thanks a lot for all your kind words - and I can't wait to review the D11! Thanks for watching, Sam :)
There are sooo many designs to choose from if you consider there were over 100 individual railway companies operating all across the British Isles. And then there is their rolling stock.!
Ah really? Yeah I've always been reluctant to glue them - I quite like the look of them being open actually, even though it's a bit unrealistic (and dangerous!) Ooh good choices - yes those are both awesome! :D Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Pre-grouping is my favorite period for British trains. The little branch lines were the basis for the later system. They were more personal and served small communities, uniting them with the rest of the nation, increasing their prosperity and transforming life while maintaining a personal touch. Ealing's comedy, The Titfield Thunderbolt, shows this humorously and well. Also, there are several YT vids with John Betjeman covering southern branch lines and their human value. RTR wagons for this period seem much harder to find than locos. I might be wrong, but I think that the big OO manufacturers put pre-grouping liveries on post-grouping wagons and call it a day. By the way, small tack jobs that you might want to later reverse, such as wagon doors, can be done with rubber cement. It doesn't harm the plastic, in my experience, and it easily rubs off completely in case you want to remove it later. Among other things, I populate my rolling stock by gluing the figures in with rubber cement, secure lanterns to locos and numerous other little jobs.
Thanks a lot mate - I think it may be mine too, for similar reasons! Yeah absolutely - I don't have all that many correct wagons, but oh well... I only ever watch the engines, lol! Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Great video Sam's train. My favorite two are. 1. Hattons SECR P Class 0-6-0T 754 in SE&CR grey H4-P-003 2.Bachmann Branchline Class E4 Brighton tank 0-6-2 579 in LB&SCR.
Hello again Sam, great video. I can definitely see why you like the the D11 and her livery. I'd say my favourite from this video is the GWR City Class. I've always liked those. The rest are brilliant too.
The D11 is my favourite model engine too and I love the Great Central livery. I managed to get one near Christmas and I just love it. I hope that one day the NRM will restore the real one and get it running again.
That's great to hear mate - glad you got one too! Oh absolutely - it'd be amazing to see her running again in real life! :D Thanks for watching, Sam :)
A few points that could have spoiled the video: The P class was in the SECR austerity livery of the Great War. The H class was built as a urban passenger loco for working London services, the fact they ended up in the countryside working push-pull sets was far from the designers mind when he drew them (Robert Surtees designed the locos and Harry Wainwright did the paint job). The Adams radial in in the East Kent Railway livery. She was sold back to BR and used on the Lyme-Regis branch from whence she was bought for preservation and is on the Bluebell line in Sussex, along with at least 2 P class and the preserved H class.
Nice one Sam, love those old engines. The main drivers behind the grouping and nationalsation was war. At the end of WW1 the railways were broke, mainly cause they had been forced to support the war effort for free, this meant no income and therefore no cash for stuff like track and stock renewal etc. Therefore by merging the main companies into four (plus the formation of London Transport) the railways could rationalise their running costs and afford better investment. However, just as the railways were recovering along came Mr Hitler and WW2, this resulted in the same situation as WW1. The railways were key to the war effort, but there was zero cash for investment. Come 1945 the railways were in a terrible state, and there were a number of major disasters due to bad track work the companies couldn't afford to replace. As a result the new Labour Government under Clement Atlee decided to bring all the railways under direct government control (natonalisation) so theycould focus on remedying the situation. (they did the same with other industries like coal, steel, road haulage etc) ths BR was born :) (I did my history thesis on the history of Britains railways 1914-1960, it was many years ago lol) Have a great weekend Jon PS - EKR is the East Kent Railway, a small local privatly owned line in Kent (natch) that was deamed to small to be gouped into the Southern and remained independent until 1948 and nationalisation, when it became part of BR (It was part of a number of light railways owned by a guy called Col H.F. Stephens, a facinating character in the history of railway in the UK www.hfstephens-museum.org.uk/ ) PPS - Fave has to be the City, but that GCR Director looks fantastic)
Hi Jon - thanks so much mate for the comment! Ahh of course - the Wars were something I failed to mention, but no doubt they played a huge part too! Thanks again for all the info - it's lovely to have experts like you watching, that way I might get myself a decent working knowledge of our railways one day! Thanks for watching, Sam :)
#3711 "City of Birmingham" was built at Swindon Works in May 1903 for the Great Western Railway originally numbered as #3434. She was renumbered in 1912 to 3711 and served the GWR until her withdrawl in July 1930.
I got this railway magazine quite a while ago and it shows the speed the locomotives went and it said that flying Scotsman went 99mph,city of Truro went 92mph and papyrus(the A3 you were talking about)went 108mph.
#579 was built at Brighton Works on July 31st, 1903 for the London, Brighton & South Coast Railway Company. She became Southern Railway #2579 in 1923 and finally British Railways #32579 in 1948. She was withdrawn from service on November 30th, 1959 and was cut up at Ashford Works on December 31st, 1959 after a service life of 56 years.
#1763 was built by the North British Locomotive Company of Glasgow, Scotland on March 30th, 1921 for the Great Northern Railway Company. She later became LNER #4763 in 1923, later renumbered to 9542 in 1946 and then became British Railways #69542 in 1948. She was withdrawn from service on March 30th, 1959 on her 38th birthday and was cut up at Doncaster Works on the same day.
This has probably been my favourite running session so far. Also I'm pretty certain that the D11 is an exclusive with the national railway museum, but I might be wrong
That's fantastic to hear Jake - aah it might be, I'll have to check on the box! I know there was one- but I think that may have been another one! Cheers, Sam :)
The E (not the e4)class metropolitan train, which is similar to the e4 and n2, was used in the underground railway along with the A class, although is a 0-4-4
Hi sam, I found my old illustrious engine from when i was five, the body work and pistons are all battered and dented, but she tries her hardest and she shakes, bounces and clicks non stop but can still pull a mildly heavy load
You have some nice pre-grouping locomotives! If you're looking for a better motorized turbatable, try Bachmann's! Another suggestion I have is make the entrance under the bookcase look like a tunnel entrance!
Thanks a lot mate - I will take a look at the Bachmann one, thanks a lot! haha yeah that would be a very fun project actually! :D Thanks for watching, Sam :)
T9 will always be my favorite pre-grouping locomotive, as well as the E4, and now the 9-11 And it's a C1 Atlantic Sam. For example, Henry was originally based off a mix of a A1 Pacific and a C1 Atlantic
Sam'sTrains £150 for three of them?! Damn! I knew just one of those coaches alone were pricey but all three at £150? You're right that is absurd, no problem.
Hi Sam, brilliant running session video with such an amazing choice of locos I cant decide which one I like best with all the different livery's. I have been to the British railway modelling festival at Doncaster and got my self the Hornby LBSC e2 and I've seen the d11 and e4 at some of the stands. Would like to have got them but I could not afford them at the moment.
Thanks very much Joseph - I know how you feel, it's very hard to decide lol! Ooh absolutely - I can see why you like them so much, but true - they are super expensive :( Thanks for watching, Sam :)
There's something about pre-grouping locos that I love, I guess that something is that they all come in different shapes and sizes (and because most Thomas engines are based off of them XD)
11F looks fab, Sam. Very nice livery on that. As for engines running better in forewards, could be that gears and axles mesh better in one direction than the other? But if you think about it, it's actually more realistic than you'd realise. Real steam engines can run better in forewards or reverse for no good reason, nature of the beast I asume.
Thanks very much mate - yeah you could be right about that - I suppose when things run forwards 90% of the time, it stands to reason that's their better direction I suppose! Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Nahh probably not - it does go behind the desk, but if it went under it, I wouldn't be able to sit there for live streams ;D Thanks for watching, Sam :)
As a few already said EKR is East Kent Railway. A little bit of it still exists as a heritage railway. eastkentrailway.co.uk/ Great running session preferred the LBSC and SE&CR the most. Interested to see the P class in the green livery 😀
Ahh of course - thanks a lot for letting me know! I can see why you like those - just fantastic! I'm really looking forward to seeing the P class in green too! :D Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Hi Sam, sorry I haven't been on your channel recently, I've lost some of my interest for locomotives but I'm still staying subscribed to your channel. Cheers, Archie
Hi Sam, late to the party in spotting this video! I got the D11 as well, and I have to agree it’s beautiful. I think the only loco I have that comes close to it is the GNR Atlantic. Are you going to get a Single when they arrive?
Thanks a lot James - no worries! Yeah she's superb - and so are the Bachmann Atlantics actually - possibly more so! Nah I can't justify the price of the singles unfortunately :/ Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Ha yes I thought that as well, but astonishingly enough my lady wife told me I should get it as it looks so beautiful. I was not going to argue. How did you find fitting the plates to Mons? I love that they provide them but my word are they fiddly.
Yeah I'm planning too mate - and I hope the D11 will be in the top 10, although she will be let down slightly be the price! Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Hi Kamil, I'm no expert but I don't think it should be - as far as I know, those railways didn't share the same locomotive designs! Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Hi Sam! May I ask how much have you paid for the GCR 11F? Was it £148.71? Because I am watching on Rails Of Sheffield website and the RRP is £174.95. I totally agree with you. It is so expensive.
curoius to know, would you ever do a vid on the trains that make real steam or would we have to listen to the smoke alearm that's in the others room(s) go off from it or is it just too hard to use?
haha yeah I did used to use locos with smoke generators, but I found them to be a bit dodgy - they mine were never that effective, and they tended to leak sticky fluid everywhere.... so I don't tend to do it these days! If you look at my Daylight Pacific video, you can see that one in action! :D Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Love pre - grouping railways esp GC but would love to able to buy some coaching stock .Younger modelers like me are really getting into pre group totally different to bland modern rubbish and the misery of BR black ! Great vid as usaul.
Thanks a lot Ezza, that's true - but a lot of the pre-grouping coaches (or any modern model coaches for that matter) are just far too expensive... a real shame :/ Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Hey Sam! What a wonderful video, and a great one at that! So, I was wondering, could you maybe take off my old picture from the wall of fame and replace it with a new one, since I do have a new layout. Cheers, Tyson'sTrains :)
Hi Sam do you by chance know how many steam engines are still in service today? also do you know about the Pere Marquette 1225 Steam engine is still in service in owosso MI?
Hi mate - I don't know how many, but it's an awful lot - we really are very lucky! Yes I've seen some videos of the Birk running actually! :D Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I've been at a model exchange today, and i saw some similar "pre-group" locos too. I almost brought a Bayern 4-6-0 tender loco with its nice dark green, and gold lining, but I remembered I have nothing it could mach with it, so I left the train-exchange with a 1/25 scale car! And while i was watching this video I won (auction) a special little loco on Ebay as a solace, (cheap). Its a T3 tank loco, but its one of the four that later got a tender. In the early 1960's their rear end, and the cab was modified, but the side tanks were kept, and got a small 6 wheeled tender (later replaced with 8 wheeled tenders). The class served from 1882 till 1968. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:89_6009_1.jpg
Thanks so much for accepting my idea! There was a great amount of locos running today and I really enjoyed it! 👍
No problem! I'd love to try that one day! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
Hi Sam, a wonderful video with several of your beautiful steam locos and trains. Excellent. Have a great weekend. Cheers, Norbert
Hi Norbert, thanks a lot for your kind comment mate - you have a lovely weekend too! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
I am French, I live in the United States and I love British trains. I think you are doing an awesome job with your videos! Love them all.
Hi Philly, that's really great to hear - thanks a lot for your kind words!
Cheers,
Sam :)
"Moooooving on then" very funny 😂😂😂
hehehe! ;D
Wonderful running session! Have a wonderful and blessed day! God bless you!
Thanks so much mate - you have a lovely day too! :D

Sam :)

Great video as always! I really like the interesting pre-grouping liveries.
Thanks a lot mate - I do too! :D
All the best,
Sam :)
Great video I love the long ones. Also the bang on the floor one is a classic I use it all the time lol
Thanks a lot A! haha absolutely - it really does work! :D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Those Vans at 15:52 with sliding doors are special models these days. I say blue tak them. But love that E4. Looks great! :) City class is unbeatable.
Ah really? Yeah I've always been reluctant to glue them - I quite like the look of them being open actually, even though it's a bit unrealistic (and dangerous!)
Ooh good choices - yes those are both awesome! :D
Thanks for watching,

Sam, your best running session yet. great photography and commentary. GCR, love it too.
Thanks so much Joe, really glad you thought so - that's very kind of you!
Thanks for watching,

Great video Sam's train. My favorite two are. 1. Hattons SECR P Class 0-6-0T 754 in SE&CR grey H4-P-003
2.Bachmann Branchline Class E4 Brighton tank 0-6-2 579 in LB&SCR.
Thanks Ben, ooh good choices - yes those are very lovely :3
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Looking at the front LNER coach, was there a cheeky cut at 11:14? :P
haha yeah there was - I don't think it coupled right, lol ;D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
My favourite was the E4 my all time fave loco and the H class really did run very well and I was glad to see the E2.
CfcThomas 1 That is the E4 not E2
Varsha Santosh Kumar near the end of the video Sam showed the E2 loco that's why I said I was glad to see the E2.
Ahh yeah I did show it! Thanks mate - glad you enjoyed seeing her! :D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Hello again Sam, great video. I can definitely see why you like the the D11 and her livery. I'd say my favourite from this video is the GWR City Class. I've always liked those. The rest are brilliant too.
Hi Greg, thanks so much - yeah she's absolutely stunning isn't she?? :3
Glad you enjoyed it mate,
Cheers,
Sam :)
Oh! I really love pre-grouping locos. My favorite is SECR Wainwright H Class '308'.
Ooh that's good to hear - I love these pre-grouping ones too! :D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
All of these steam locomtives are great!
Thank you! :D
The D11 is my favourite model engine too and I love the Great Central livery. I managed to get one near Christmas and I just love it. I hope that one day the NRM will restore the real one and get it running again.

Hi Douglas, thanks very much for the comment and the information - much appreciated!
Cheers,
Sam :)
Hello, Sam! I quite like the Southern, mostly because of the Bulleid light pacifics. That air-smoothed casing is really an eye-catching design.
My favorite today was the P Class.
Thanks mate - ooh me too, I love those SR pacifics!
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Nice one Sam, love those old engines.

PS - EKR is the East Kent Railway, a small local privatly owned line in Kent (natch) that was deamed to small to be gouped into the Southern and remained independent until 1948 and nationalisation, when it became part of BR (It was part of a number of light railways owned by a guy called Col H.F. Hi Jon - thanks so much mate for the comment!

#3711 "City of Birmingham" was built at Swindon Works in May 1903 for the Great Western Railway originally numbered as #3434. She was renumbered in 1912 to 3711 and served the GWR until her withdrawl in July 1930.
Ahh very interesting - thanks again mate!
Cheers,

What a bunch of very unique locomotives.
Nice video video Sam :)
Thanks a lot Allen - I really love this bunch too!
Glad you enjoyed it,
Sam :)
I got this railway magazine quite a while ago and it shows the speed the locomotives went and it said that flying Scotsman went 99mph,city of Truro went 92mph and papyrus(the A3 you were talking about)went 108mph.
Yeah that sounds about right - they were very impressive for the time!
Cheers,
Sam :)
Thanks again for the info Vincent, much appreciated once again! :D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Thanks a lot for the info mate - really sad she died on her Birthday :(
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Wonderful😄 the models look realistic😮
Thanks very much mate! :D
Nice seeing the p class and c class together, great running session, sam :-)
Thanks very mate - really glad you liked that! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
Very enjoyable. Even thinking of buying D11 "Mons" as it looks so nice for my collection. Despite being a serious diesel collector.
Thanks so much! I agree - it really is nice - can highly recommend that one! :D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
East Kent Railway . A small light railway. Nice one but you really need some Caley Blue and Midland Red.
Yep that's the one! I agree - I'll keep an eye out for some!
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
This has probably been my favourite running session so far. Also I'm pretty certain that the D11 is an exclusive with the national railway museum, but I might be wrong
That's fantastic to hear Jake - aah it might be, I'll have to check on the box! I know there was one- but I think that may have been another one!
Cheers,
Sam :)
There was another exclusive D11 for Model Rail (the magazine) but that was LNER lined green
Exelent video once again! Nice to see the P class again!
Thanks so much Kris - I really love running her - she's never any trouble! :D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
The Great Central loco is so beautifully made, it makes you wonder why the production was so short. Shame. The livery is out of this world.
One shot in this I adore it’s when the D11 is going past and her coaches and gentleing swaying from side to side :D really made me happy!
-sam
Ahh thanks a lot mate, really glad you liked that one! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
The E (not the e4)class metropolitan train, which is similar to the e4 and n2, was used in the underground railway along with the A class, although is a 0-4-4
It's also similar to the h class
Ahh many thanks for the info on that mate!
Cheers,
Sam :)

Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
That D11 is a beaut, I can't blame you for buying it even if you had it in BR black.
Thanks so much mate! Oh absolutely - I love my BR black version, but that green is just something else! :D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
The d11 preserved is called butler henderson
Ooh nice - thanks for the info mate!

Thanks Daniel - absolutely, their prices are very good!! :D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Hi sam, I found my old illustrious engine from when i was five, the body work and pistons are all battered and dented, but she tries her hardest and she shakes, bounces and clicks non stop but can still pull a mildly heavy load
Awhh what a cool thing to find - really glad to hear she still runs!! :D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
I have to tell u that this is is amazing u have all these trains must mean working for you're money man love you're videos Every day
Thanks so much Marcus - really glad you enjoyed it mate - thanks for all your lovely support!

Thanks a lot Michael - yes I was so pleased with that D11 - just gorgeous isn't she?? :3
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
T9 will always be my favorite pre-grouping locomotive, as well as the E4, and now the 9-11
And it's a C1 Atlantic Sam.
For example, Henry was originally based off a mix of a A1 Pacific and a C1 Atlantic
Ahh I can't blame you for that - they're absolutely gorgeous! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Some Bachmann SECR Birdcage coaches would look nice behind the H and the P Class.
They would! But I can't condone the price unfortunately - over £150 for three coaches seems a bit absurd to me :(
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Sam'sTrains £150 for three of them?! Damn! I knew just one of those coaches alone were pricey but all three at £150? You're right that is absurd, no problem.
Oooo Sam this is the best movie! But for now.
Thanks Marco - really glad you like it! :D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Excellent video Sam, I really enjoyed it.
Thanks very much Philip, that's lovely to hear! :D
Cheers,

Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
“The Hornby Turntable: screams quality”
haha - if only it did... instead, it just screams ;D
Ooh absolutely - I can see why you like them so much, but true - they are super expensive :(

Sam :)
very nice filming and driveing i love these videos from your buddy samuel
Thanks very much Samuel, that's really kind of you to say! :D
Cheers mate,
Sam :)
hehe no problem my friend your just so good at this
There's something about pre-grouping locos that I love, I guess that something is that they all come in different shapes and sizes (and because most Thomas engines are based off of them XD)
I agree - they are lovely things, I've always been a huge fan too! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Really enjoined this keep it up!
Thanks a lot mate, really glad you enjoyed yourself! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
Also this is a question
I have a express point with a little rust but when I run my class 25 but it stops when i push it goes again
Just arrived in wales to go on the Llangollen railway
That's nice, have fun there! :)
Ooh awesome - have a great time - take some cool photos! :D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Great video Sam.
Thanks a lot mate! :D
Very well done. Keep up the good work!
On a side note, you might need another Wall of Fame soon.
Thanks so much - really glad you liked it!! haha yeah - it's getting full ;D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Hi Sam! I totally love the Hornby SECR Wainwright H Class. And I first saw that GCR D11 on Mike's new channel. Haven't you?
Thanks so much mate - I do too!! I didn't know Mike had one actually - I'll have to look at that! :D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
I didn’t know you had Pre grouped Adams radial tank! You lucky dog XD
haha yeah! She's very lovely isn't she?? Never been a brilliant runner though :/
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Aw, poor thing! xD
Nothing beats a pregouping loco.
Ooh I agree - for sure :3
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Love it
Thank you! :D
Brilliant!
Thank you! :D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Hi sam h class is just smashing. good video mate
Thanks Tony, I think she is too! :3
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
The D11 looks superb. 'EKR' would not be East Kent Railway would it?
Thanks very much Ian! Yes you're right - that's the one! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
Old slow coach from thomas and friends is based on an clerestory brake coach
Ooh really? That's very cool - I never knew that! :D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
You might try if there are diffrences between the BR D11 and GCR D11. If the GCR version is bigger.
Ahh yes I remember reading that - they had different loading gauges didn't they?? :3
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Are you going to change your layout? It would be cool to have a tunnel where the track goes under the desk. My favorite engine was the E2
Nahh probably not - it does go behind the desk, but if it went under it, I wouldn't be able to sit there for live streams ;D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
As a few already said EKR is East Kent Railway. A little bit of it still exists as a heritage railway.

Great running session preferred the LBSC and SE&CR the most. Interested to see the P class in the green livery 😀
Ahh of course - thanks a lot for letting me know!
I can see why you like those - just fantastic! I'm really looking forward to seeing the P class in green too! :D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
I like the City Class. :)
Me too! She is very lovely :3
Cheers mate,
Sam :)
Hi Sam, sorry I haven't been on your channel recently, I've lost some of my interest for locomotives but I'm still staying subscribed to your channel. Cheers, Archie
Hi Archie - that's okay mate, thanks very much for the support!
Cheers,
Sam :)
The D11 is do good! Probably the best video you have ever done!
so good
Wow that's high praise - thanks so much mate, really glad you enjoyed it!
Cheers,
Sam :)
Nah I can't justify the price of the singles unfortunately :/
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Ha yes I thought that as well, but astonishingly enough my lady wife told me I should get it as it looks so beautiful.
I was not going to argue.
How did you find fitting the plates to Mons? I love that they provide them but my word are they fiddly.
Amazing
Thank you! :D
Thank you Sam this was very interesting to watch :-}
Hi Teddy - really glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the comment!
Sam :)
I plan to restore three N2s
That's awesome! Good luck with them mate!
Cheers,
Sam :)
I wish some of the bigger pre-grouping locos survived, it doesn't get much bigger than an N2 in preservation.
I know - it's a real shame that more weren't kept... but I guess we should be grateful for what we did get to keep :/
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Great video cheers, should redec this great room, baby wallpaper?
Baby wallpaper?!?! :O
Hi Sam! Please will you do a video of Top 10 locos by you every year, please? I really enjoy those. Would you put the D11 to Top 10?
Yeah I'm planning too mate - and I hope the D11 will be in the top 10, although she will be let down slightly be the price!
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Hey Sam! Do you think the new LBSC Atlantic loco by Bachmann will be the very same tooling as the Bachmann GNR Atlantic Class?
Hi Kamil, I'm no expert but I don't think it should be - as far as I know, those railways didn't share the same locomotive designs!
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Hi Sam! May I ask how much have you paid for the GCR 11F? Was it £148.71? Because I am watching on Rails Of Sheffield website and the RRP is £174.95. I totally agree with you. It is so expensive.
Hi Kamil - yeah it was £148 - far too much for what it was, but I was sold on the livery :3
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
yess I've been waiting for this :D
Ooh nice - hope you enjoy it! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
curoius to know, would you ever do a vid on the trains that make real steam or would we have to listen to the smoke alearm that's in the others room(s) go off from it or is it just too hard to use?
haha yeah I did used to use locos with smoke generators, but I found them to be a bit dodgy - they mine were never that effective, and they tended to leak sticky fluid everywhere.... so I don't tend to do it these days! If you look at my Daylight Pacific video, you can see that one in action! :D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Great vid Sam my birthday was great got myself an APT from 1980 and it is in mint condition
What livery Atlantic will you be reviewing
That's great David - glad you had a good time and got that APT - that's a very very special one! :D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Love pre - grouping railways esp GC but would love to able to buy some coaching stock .Younger modelers like me are really getting into pre group totally different to bland modern rubbish and the misery of BR black ! Great vid as usaul.
Thanks a lot Ezza, that's true - but a lot of the pre-grouping coaches (or any modern model coaches for that matter) are just far too expensive... a real shame :/
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
the time when u slammed your foot on the floor I do the same but on the table when my trains get stuck on the points
haha yeah... it's very crude, but very effective ;D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Hey Sam! What a wonderful video, and a great one at that! So, I was wondering, could you maybe take off my old picture from the wall of fame and replace it with a new one, since I do have a new layout. Cheers, Tyson'sTrains :)
Hi Tyson, thanks very much mate, you're very kind - yeah sure, send me a new photo if you'd like! :D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
good video, I bought a R866
Thank you! Ooh nice - is that a B12? Enjoy it! :D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Have you ever thought of doing a series with all you favourite locos racing 2 by 2 till only 1 remains.
haha that'd be very awesome! I don't know if I'd dare race my best engines though - it's not all that good for them :/
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
E K R = East Kent Railway? I have an Adams Radial Tank myself in black livery.
Awesome, they do look smart in the black!
Happy New Year - Sam :)
New favourite loco of all time? Model form?
Hmmmm... very possibly that D11, but it's still close between that and the Bulleids ;D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
Hey Sam! What is your the least favourite railway of the Big Four?
Ooh I don't know, I really like them all, but I suppose it'd be the GWR, if I really had to choose!
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
G gods
W worst
R railway
@@SamsTrains I'm inclined to agree
I find them a little bit boring
Love the d-l class Sam beautiful peice of masineri or should I say model....😍😍
Thanks very much - yeah I love those too!! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)

Sounds good Tom - Ooh that's cool, what brand was that then?? Sounds like some good stuff though mate, enjoy it!! :D
Thanks for watching,
Sam :)
the 4-6-0 was a (newer) Trix P3/5 loco (what else, they are the big Bayern fans)
the car is a '58 Pacer by AMT
the T3 is by Fleischmann
