I think we limit Jamaica too much to rastaman and exaggerated PATOIS speaking.Jamaica needs depth .Rich culture have limited our potential. Even the images you use gives me an insight of your perception of Jamaica and Jamaicans.

When I was a youth Morning Star had numerous routes connecting Montego Bay to Savanna-la-Mar and Negril. Blue Danube worked in what was possibly an arrangement, as They ran in the opposite direction morning going from Savanna-la-Mar and Negril to Montego Bay on the same routes. My main use for years when I attended Rusea's High School in Lucea, Hanover was the Morning Star route that left Montego Bay, turned up the hill at Hopewell, then went Bamboo, Chigwell, Guerney's Mount, Cold Spring, Great Valley, Pondside, Cascade, Retrieve, Jericho, then Lucea. It served some other routes, leaving Lucea and going via Dias, Grange Hill, Frome, Georges Plain then Sav. All through the hills of Hanover. In the evening it did the reverse. Another Morning Star ran along the coastal highway to Negril, then to Savanna-la-Mar via Little London. Blue Danube did the same routes only in reverse. There is so much I could tell about these buses but space does not allow it.

Kareem I was to add McCaulay that ran from northern Manchester to Mandeville to southern Manchester. Mandeville was a hub for those buses. There was a fellow who had one bus called Brotherhood. I t ran from southern Manchester to Mandeville and other places. Those were the 50s and 60s chiefly. There were few taxis, people walked or ride bicycles. Then there was robot taxis (unauthorized taxis) they completed with the authorized taxis. Kareem what you are doing is very fascinating. Thanks again.

I used to take the Ambassador from Beggars Bush near Cave to the market in Sav. That was in 1985 when it was still running. And if I remember correctly, it stopped running two years later. It was a real shame because I always sat in the back and felt like Jimmy Cliff in "The Harder They Come". After that, my favourite car was the "Indian Driver", a red Bedford Blitz. You could see the road through the footwell. But there was always a great atmosphere on the bus and the best music. Tenor Saw "Ring the Alarm" Good old days. Jah bless

I live in Toronto Canada for 36 years, yes back in the days I've taken MorningStar country bus, RedRose country bus, LittlePrincess country bus, Ambassador County bus and many other from downtown Sav La Mar, those were the good old days that forever lives in my memory. 💕 I've used to take The Little Princess country bus approximately 5 times a year to go visit my grandfather up in Stonehenge Chesterfield, I've used to passed through darliston, bethel town, seaford town and many other places.

Another popular bus was Hall's Transport. It was my backup bus when I managed to have the Morning Star leave me in Lucea, for reasons sometimes of my own doing. It ran later in the evening on a route that went through the hills of Hanover from Lucea to Savanna-la-Mar, via Jericho, Cascade, Flower Hill, and onwards to Sav. Also have to point out that my walk home from Cascade to Cold Spring/Great Valley was 5 miles and if lucky a truck or car may pass and bum a ride but that was a slim guarantee, and the weather was not always pleasant.
