- Ladies and Gentlemen, I am proud to be presenting to you the official PUBLIC DEBUT of the XFly Model B-1B Lancer brought to you by Banana Hobby!
This video is very much RAW and UNCUT. You are there at the field as these stunning new models are displayed before the public for the very first time during the Arizona Electric Festival! - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี

Beautiful planes,was surprised they were released in the fruit basket, they were in development for over a year by the manufacturer. Glad to see they made it to market. Good job.

Thanks for checking in my friend! Yes indeed, Jeremy Solt (the demo team leader) said they weren't afraid at all to demo these planes in front of the public, and literally show the various adjustments in "real time". These are in fact the only prototypes in the USA as of the time of this video. They are "Beta" test models and any changes made to production models will likely come from the very flights you are watching. Pretty humbling when you think about it, and yes brother, I think we captured a small piece of RC history...

Seems like there was a lot of wind for this one John. Any reason they didn't retract the gear and only flew circles with the wings extended on this first flight? Looking forward to the details and the acro! 😁😁 Great capture brother!
Hey Adam, there was some wind (slightly cross-quarter) but it was very manageable. This first flight was kept tame on purpose, really meant to show the models all displayed at once. The gear was initialization issue, nothing wrong with it at all and they all functioned flawlessly from there on out. Just wait until you see Jeremy's solo flight! Yeehaw!

Absolutely beautiful jets. Thank you John for bringing us the video. Is there some kind of design flaw in those main gear mechanisms? Looks like one of them got stuck in the retracted configuration after he lowered the gear again at 8:07. I hope Xfly can fix it with the production batch.
Thanks Enzo! There is NO design flaw with the gear, just some things going on with the initialization which got rectified on subsequent flights. The gear worked flawlessly in the many flights after this one, almost all of which I captured and will be showing up in the next few days. This model is absolutely amazing! Cheers my friend!

Two have flown quite a bit together, one was new. Oh, BTW, the planes had only been in country less than a week. Maybe you should check the three other videos I posted of this model...

Is there room/option to upgrade to 80mm motors? Like the fms A10 can go from 80 to 90mm right?
I have no idea, but I suspect we'll know more as the release date approaches. These are beta test prototypes, so we should know soon enough about power options...
Very curious about the reason why the gear were not retracted during this flight?
Just a basic flight to demo so three ships at once. Regarding the gear, there was an initialization issue that might have been pilot related. It was rectified later on and all subsequent videos will show that. Thanks for checking in!

Kudos for a fantastic plane. It would be nice to have a stabilized camera, or even a chase drone as the vid was very poor quality considering such a monumental release.
I didn't even know these models would be at AEF, so I was taken by surprise for sure! I was just happy to capture the moment, however amateurish it may appear. All the best to you!

All 3 pilot's landed hard and long. Looks like the battery is right up front. Can't help but think this might be a cg issue. With that wing configuration, they should have been able to land nose high
They didn't use flaps - that didn't help shorten the landings.

So I need to ask a question as I have been out of the hobby for a few years. Banana Hobby used to have a horrible reputation from putting out terrible products. Have they improved? Perhaps they are under new management and have cleaned up some of the issues. I love these B-1s and was seriously thinking about getting one. I just don't want to waste money on something that is not any good. I am not trying to throw anyone under the bus. Serious question here, should I spend the money?
These are real, honest questions. I can only say this: all companies can improve, and I think it's likely Banana Hobby has. Besides, you have to realize this model is made by Xfly. Xfly is to my understanding, basically the top 4 or 5 model designers and engineers that left FMS to start XFly. Banana Hobby is the exclusive distributor. Watch the next videos I have posted about this model, and in particular the video with Jeremy Solt explaining the various design features, and I think you're going to be impressed..

What is the scale ?
Not sure, but in my walkaround video with Jeremy Solt he goes over the specs of wingspan, length, etc. I'm sure you could figure out the scale from there...

3 of them, but not a single high speed pass or even a gear up pass? Can appreciate a new product, but I'd want to know more about what a $700 aircraft can do before I'd put the money down for one.

We had an odd anomaly on the debut flight where the gear didn’t cycle on two of the 3 planes. The gear and wing sweep flying happened several times during the event. As a note we figured out the issue in later testing and have resolved the issue we found. The final production In final quality tests has V-2 gear retracts.

I was excited until I heard 700 dollars. 300 to 500 might be reasonable for a PNP. Not interested anymore. It is just a twin 70mm. If there's a kit version, I have plenty of extra fans and servos. I'd be happy to put my own together.
To each his own. Twin 70mm fans, swing wings, all the tech inside to make it all work. Not to mention all new molds, never been done before. Yeah, 700 is actually pretty fair. I suspect they will sell all their pre-orders...
@@JustwingitRC you're probably right. I just won't be buying one. They'd sell more and profit more at a lower price point. When you don't price-lock certain people out of a product, you'll sell way more products. Especially something that hasn't been done before. If it were another twin flanker, twin airliner, or model that has other options in different brands, the higher price point might be more profitable as long as there were more scale features than the competition. This is a plane that would sell exponentially more products in a lower price tier. That's just my opinion.

Why didnt they use any of the features? Gear down and wings out formation? Pretty lame debut..
The reason was because we had an anomaly with the gear we hadn’t seen before. We landed, recycled power and flew a full on performance flight with all that you are questioning.
