My name is Jasmine and I have relocated from Sydney Australia to Ghana in west Africa as of the year 2020.
My parents are of Ghanaian descent and so am I although I was born in Australia. Here on my channel, my goal is to give you a real glimpse into what it’s like to live in Ghana and other parts of Africa, from the food, to the culture, to the lifestyle and everything in between. My goal is to satisfy your curiosity about Ghana and other African countries.
My prayer is that these videos do just that for several African’s in the diaspora.

Ghana seems expensive than most places in the US cos although the places are nice, the prices choked me a lil.
These places are not for the average Joe here. Cantonments, airport residential and the like are upscale. That context is often sidestepped in the price comparison, which is misleading. Much less costly alternatives are available.
What is considered upscale in the US would cost way more than this.
It's all about location location location. It's very costly to live near the airport in Ghana.

I always love your videos Jasmine but my opinion and honestly really they are taken advantage of tourist/ expat and Diaspora communities because Honestly $250-350 a night come on now the place is nice but it’s NOT LUXURY nice for that price in the US or other African country get those place for $65-100 the most a night…….. Ghana 🇬🇭 is getting ridiculous too expensive and over hyped for no reason!!! Soon everyone will start run to East Africa where you get luxury and quality for the price and it’s well developed since Kenya 🇰🇪 government stat offer visa free or on arrival now.
Ghana will realize when it’s too late ⏰ everyone quotes in US dollars 💵 they making it so bad for the people that live in Ghana like the local. 😢

@@a.konadu4010 true. We make things too expensive in Ghana. For example electricity is soo expensive, but if ECG should get serious with their bill collection, they won't need to charge us so much.legon, parliament, I'm sure even jubilee house don't all pay for electricity.
Our port charges are so ridiculously expensive people are now using Togo etc ports and we're losing revenue.
Big hotels in bigger economies of Kenya and Nigeria for example charge wayyy less than their counterparts in Ghana. Etc etc
Many expats, international students who came to Ghana are leaving because it's too expensive here. What the f. uck is wrong with us and overcharging for everything? If the Togos and co should get their acts together, people would move there instead of coming into our expensive clime
