Listen, I did a video previous to this video about the things I like on the tractor. By no means am I ungrateful by doing this video. Is it not informative to prospective buyers to hear good and bad from an unbiased opinion on a piece of equipment? The things I like greatly out ways the dislikes. Let’s not judge people! Thanks for watching Things I Think John Deere has Right on the 5E Series Tractors! th-cam.com/video/RcuLBV0Dtg8/w-d-xo.html
This guy is very thankful for what he has, it’s part of why I watch his videos, he’s making content it’s simple as that. And it’s good content for someone interested in a tractor like this. He made a video about what he likes about it as well.
A friend of mine has a 5045 and I help him mow a few times a year, usually 2 tractors with 6 and 8' mowers running about 5 to 6 hours. The 5045 is a nice tractor and I like sitting higher above the dust from the mower but in the end I'm happy with my Ford 4000SU simply because of the ease of maintenance and none of the electronic engine controls and all the EPA mandated crap. As far as the tires, remember that every manufacturer goes with the lowest bidder on most of their supplies.
The Kubota mx5200 i had didn’t have armrests. When I traded for the mx5400hstc armrests were an option and I got them, and what a difference they made. I wish all tractors came standard with them. GREAT VIDEO!!
The seat safety switch on my old Kubota. I just zip tied the lever down that might be an option on the John Deere. Now that I have a John Deere 5e series, I haven't had to do that yet
Definitely should have arm rest on the seat. That was one thing I didn't like about my little Mahindra max24 was no arm rest. My kubota l3130 and kubota ztr mower have arm rest.
My '23 Massey 2604 has the Goodyears on it like those, and you are correct, it doesn't get the traction like it should, but I am not changing them out, I'll deal with it until they are worn out
I agree with you a 100% on the tires! I really like to cut hay with my 5055E (2 wheel drive) but it will bobsled slide going downhill in places that other 2 wd tractors over the years would not
You’re 100% right on the seat, my 5400 sets totally different than the 5E’s. Deere used to put Goodyears on the 5E’s several years ago, the. They put the Galaxy’s on them, and people have been mad ever since. I’m sure it boiled down to money in the production side, but I’m a firm believer that most people will pay for a good tire.
I agree with you on the seat, I don't understand not having an arm rest. I also can see your point on the seat distance from the pedals and the shut off of the tractor, that would be a deal breaker for me. I agree with all of your concerns or dislikes, when you run tractors as much as you do and I have those are important issues. Good job on the review, both good and bad. Thanks and I hope you have a wonderful weekend, I also want to wish you a Merry Christmas, if I don't see ya later!
Maybe you should tell deer they could release a you tuber edition of their tractors that have more steel so magnetic camera mounts could be used anywhere! LOL! Thanks for the video Ben. Merry Christmas!
Good Morning Sir, You have a nice looking John Deere and Every Tractor Have Their Up and Down 🥴🤣👍I really like all the modification ( weights ) that you have made 🧐👍Do not wash your tractor with pressure washer ( that will help ) but nothing you can not fixe with dielectric grease Sir 👍🧐😇Keep Up Your OUTSTANDING work Sir and Keep Warm Cheers 🧐🧐👍👍🍻🍻
John deere also makes and sales tractors in India here main problem in these tractors are 1. Hot air flow on feet of driver 2. Very bad fuel efficiency 3. Rear side fuel tank which makes tilage tool attachment tough and time consuming.
Another great video Ben, great information if you was thinking about buying JD 50E series tractor, but what we grow up and are use too sometimes is hard to get use too, and the world of today everything has to have all the safety features so no one will get in trouble for, but I really think for the money you got hole lot more tractor then you was expecting so i think it’s win win, God Bless and thanks for sharing your thoughts
The seat thing can be bypassed I did it on both my newer tractors I want to go back to the days of if you are dumb enough to stick your hand into a spinning part that will rip it off its your own fault
@@khtractors yes I may only be 30 but I get told I'm old-school but my dad and grampa have always said the really stupid people don't stick around long
In the E series, John Deere threw the cheapest tractor with no conviences on it and still get a premium price for it That’s my only problem with a deere. Great tractors.
Sounds like Your dislikes are little cost cutting things the Deere penny pincher cut to keep the selling price down. Think all tractor manufactors do the same to stay competitive. Over all think You got a good bang for You buck.
From all I've read and viewed on youtube the best tractors are built in Japan. Next would be the ones built in South Korea. Alot of India built tractors seem to have more build quality issues. Just my opinion. My little Ford 1910 was built in Japan and it has served me well but it was built before all the emission junk was added to them. Kubota is a quality tractor.
Well an M Series Kubota is a basic tractor but has a much nicer seat at least. I don’t know what’s wrong with asking for a better seat and some tires that have traction. These things wouldn’t run the price of the tractor up much at all.
@khtractors if you wanted better tires or seat then those options if available come at a price just like anything else. Deere isn't going to put a 1400 dollar air ride seat on an economy tractor. That just drives the price up more and for most people that want a basic tractor the seat and tires are perfectly fine. You said you cut , rake, and tedded hay with it. You don't need premium tires for that.
@@jonathanfrecking1210 why has this video hit a nerve with you? We bale hay on 22-28 degree slopes, a good traction tire is nice. The tires I mentioned liking are actually a lower price tire than what is on the tractor. Also I never asked for air ride just some arm rest. I knew what we were getting with the tractor but in the future this is things Deere should look at improving. Almost all competitors have a better seat. Deere gets by with it because of brand loyalty.
@khtractors sorry if it came across as the video hit a nerve. It didn't. I had a 5100E cab tractor, and it was a nice basic tractor. Before that I had a 5103 which was the predecessor to what you have. It was open station like yours but fwa, with a loader. It was a great tractor too! All I'm saying is economy tractors have less options is all. It seems to what you need it to and that's what matters at the end of the day. I've got a 6130R now and I wouldn't go back to an E or even an M but premium features come at a cost .
@@jonathanfrecking1210 I understand. A slight change in seat placement would really help on these tractors though. As much as I’d like a M or R series Deere I’ll probably never be able to justify one. Thanks for watching
Just be thankful for what you have. So many people would love to have that tractor.

Can’t go wrong with an old Ford!! Thanks for watching
You nailed it Ben. You did leave out the C reverse. I was at the dealer yesterday..lil changes on the updated..new number models.
Yeah I forgot that C reverse, it’s basically useless. Thanks for watching

Yes arm rest are so simple yet very beneficial, should be on everything! Thanks for watching
All tractors have their ups and downs great video buddy 👍
Fortunately this one has more ups then downs. Thanks for watching

Hello Ben, its a Pansie world for sure. good review 👏👍🏼🇺🇸
Yes it is going that way. Seat safety switches really annoy me. Thanks for watching

We definitely made a good decision for the price of this tractor! No regrets! Thanks for watching
My Massy doesn’t have armrests either and i don’t get why it doesn’t
That just seems like it should be standard on equipment now. Arm rest can’t be that much more expensive. Thanks for watching

No problem I was just seeing how much videos you got old ones
Do you have messenger or not
Hi
That's the way I am about things. But to me if they still do the things that they do. That's all that matters
That’s right! Thank you!
You're welcome buddy
Great video
Thank you!
In the E series, John Deere threw the cheapest tractor with no conviences on it and still get a premium price for it That’s my only problem with a deere. Great tractors.
If they had only used a better seat I’d be much happier. This seat is awful compared to what my Kubota has. Thanks

Yes we definitely got a good tractor for the money. The dislikes are far less than the likes. Thanks for watching
Hi
Why don't you tell the local John Deere district representative on how to make it better.
No clue who it is. Thanks for watching
Just ask your local John Deere dealer

Japan is hard to beat on quality! Thanks for watching
If its not red hide it in the shed, keep it classy buy a Massey
I worked along side a 4707 Massey today with my Kubota moving dirt. That is one I’d consider in the future. Thanks for watching
It's an economy tractor, not an M or R series. A basic tractor gets basic options.
