As an artist, I wanna travel everywhere in the world and see and experience for myself the amazing things this life and this planet has to offer. But they tell me, no matter where you go, don't forget your roots. Don't forget where you come from. Be proud of what made you. And as a kid, I'm not sure if I can say that I was proud of that. I felt like I'd been betrayed and held back in life because of where I was born. I thought that if I'd been born and raised somewhere else, somewhere that had the right resources for me, my talent and my genius would've already travelled far and I would've already been livin the life that I so badly long for at the moment. All these hardships, these struggles, these moments of acute agony would never have existed in the first place had the roots been a lil different.
But only now do I understand, that the headstart that I'd been lookin for as a kid would've done me absolutely no good as compared to the start that I did have. Understand it this way, the further back you pull it, the farther the catapult finna launch ya. And when I finally understood that, things sat into perspective. I realised that the genius I have today is BECAUSE of all the hardships, is BECAUSE of all the rough patches in life. It all made so much more sense.
Music has been a crucial part of my life & I haven't gone a day without listening to music for as long as I can remember. Life goes around in a circle. Just like when the sun and moon come into unison. When they finally meet after an eternal chase. When the big bang would finally happen. That moment of completeness. That precious time in the universe when you've finally understood your purpose in life.
