A couple notes / clarifications: 1. Contrary to what I said in this video, power upgrades before the drift tuning upgrade is equipped does in fact make your car faster, so you should be maxing out the engine, transmission, and turbo before applying it. I only recently had the chance to test this extensively, and I feel bad that I said otherwise in this video - if you'd like to find out more about how to upgrade your car before and after applying drift tuning, I just released a video on that here: th-cam.com/video/Cfw9PLJ9Kqg/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=StevieWunderKid 2. The drift tuning upgrade does convert these cars to AWD, although the power going to the front wheels is very small (only about 10% or 20%) just to give the car some extra forward bite and so it holds more angle. The AWD also only kicks on at a certain wheel speed. Because of this, the mid-drive speed boost is still possible in these cars (since they're AWD you need to use the handbrake and normal brakes to engage it), but it really isn't needed to do any of the long drifts shown in the video. Hopefully I was able to provide a bit more insight here - as always, thank you guys so much for your support and stay tuned for more drifting content coming very soon!
I noticed that sometimes when people spin out with this car the engine doesn't turn off but usually in other cars when u go over a certain angle the engine automatically turns off, could you please check this? If it is then I wonder what about the car files / handling flags would allow it to do it and if it's a bug or intended thing
I distinctly remember that the Coil brawler has a similar AWD split. it feels mostly like a RWD and can still speedboost with just a tap of the handbrake.
@@lordhelix1999 Never heard of this before, to my knowledge the engine never shuts off during a spinout, regardless of car. Could be a bug, or maybe because the car drops to idle you don't hear it?

Wow, you really are a drift wiz - not only can you drift really well, your technical articulation is second to none! This is the most erudite video game tutorial I have ever watched :-)

I think the different suspension upgrades really have a more impact on the handling of the cars than you give it credit for. To me almost all of the different suspension types give the cars a different way that they handle, sort of like selecting a suspension setup. Stock has most grip and is quickest, but also the twitchiest, while the lowest one is the most slippery, but can also make the car feel unresponsive. Give it a try!
Maybe I didn't make this clear enough in this first video, but since then I've talked a lot more about it - generally I think the lowest suspension is the most effective for improving handling feel and responsiveness.
Watch initial d bunta scenes, he said he loosened the suspension to allow more gas during drifts, also GTA v is initial D as fuck, Franklin uses Fujiwara zone, has the taillight trail and all, the futon and sultans, the rx7s the sileighties the vinwood touge hills, 😍
Thanks so much for the tutorial. I just bought the new Benefactor Vorschlaghammer and added the Drift Tuning upgrade and I really needed this beginner tutorial to prevent myself from crashing into walls, random cars, and running into NPCs LMAO
Question for experienced drifters: When doing slow speed figure 8s, how do you prefer to transition from one donut to another? Using the brakes, handbrakes, or neither and just using throttling, not throttling and steering? I'm speaking specifically about when you swing ur back end to go into the opposite rotation on the second obstacle in the figure 8? And more importantly, what's best practice? I assume using neither brakes... along with it being situational?
For snappy transitions like those, you can rely on just throttle control and use the handbrake a bit to help it rotate in the opposite direction. Using the normal brakes isn't recommended as it makes transitions a lot slower.
Yeah I'm on Xbox Series X, using a standard controller. However, a lot of the main controls I explained will carry over to PlayStation and probably keyboard too.
I can't believe that they released this update right then when I am in Japan and watch Inital D. Guess I will have to see some real life drifting instead!
they are all AWD after a certain rpm. you can do cylones in all vehicles which make them all awd. they only have 20% power to front wheels at slow speed which is why the fronts dont spin.
Hey, i was wondering if u still reccomend to use drift tuning on cars like the futo gtx now that rockstar changed it, or should i just switch to low grip tires becuase of the update? Thanks in advance
Yeah man, even after the nerf I'd say it's still worth it. Very fun experience with tandems and stuff even with the cars being slower. Low-grip drifting is fun too, so if anything I'd try out both styles to see which you enjoy the most!
No, but that's only when the upgrade is applied. It intentionally holds gears for a long time to keep torque consistent, which I think feels pretty good. EDIT: Since these cars are technically converted to AWD, the mid-drive speed boost actually is possible, but you need to use the normal brakes and handbrake for it.

That's because you're using the normal Yosemite, not the Drift Yosemite. They're two separate cars. Same thing with the Futo; only the Futo GTX has access to this new upgrade, not the original Futo.
It takes some practice and muscle memory to consistently aim it above your car and in the direction you're drifting. I talk about this more in my advanced drifting guide.
