@@HardCoreLegoFan I have no idea why it got so much hate. I’m someone who absolutely hates the sequels and most of the new shows but I really liked solo and rewatch it the most out of all the Star Wars films other than the empire strikes back
the republic trooper battle was actually my first ever lego star wars set and I think this is a pretty underrated set . You can also mention the resistance escape pod that is completly forgotten
Being born in the early 90's meant my first sets were indeed the first sets of many designs LEGO has since repeatedly re-designed and re-released. The original Qui-Gon vs Darth Maul, the original Desert Skiff, the original A-Wing, the original AT-ST, the original podracers (saved up my allowance a lot to get that big podracer set with Anakin's, Sebulba's and Gasgano's pods), the original Endor Scout Troopers on speeder bikes etc. But yeah, I had that TOR battle pack too. Two of them even. I just combiend the speeders into one big saucer-like speeder. Still have it, haha.
@remibarbier5166 Maybe not in terms of build, but at the time it was pretty big in that it was promotional for a star wars game. Lego just never did stuff from the games back then, only the movies and clone wars, at that point the only exception had been one rare set featuring the space ship from The Force Unleashed. Even the Rebel and Empire battlepacks mentioned in this video were based on the designs and player customization options from the Battlefront remake from 2015. We've come far in how willing the cheap misers over at LEGO are willing to put out stuff based on video games in general, not just Star Wars games.
I got Han Solos Landspeeder at the time it was released and I remember the build being extremely awesome, but it is definitely one of the least memorable 30 dollar pricetag sets of Lego Star Wars, and like you said came out in one of the roughest years ever for Lego Star Wars sets, being 2018. The Solo Millennium Falcon and TIE Fighter, as well as the Imperial train with the range troopers are really the only favored Solo sets while all the other ones were completely forgotten about, since nobody really liked or cared about Solo after the Last Jedi came out. But it does feel kind of funny to me that whenever I look at it I'm like "Oh Hans actually got a Landspeeder just like Luke!" The Republic of vs Sith Troopers pack is actually I think a bit underrated, considering that it came out during a golden age of Lego Star Wars during 2013. Its actually one of my favorite battle packs in my collection, as I do love the Republic Troopers looking very much like clones, and I do say, the Sith Troopers are menacing. It's so dumb that the ones from the old Republic and the Rise of Skywalker both share the "Sith Trooper" name.
@@kbirdydaboiii the republic troopers vs sith troopers is one of the most underrated set from this era, I think it got overshadowed by prequels and original triology because its more famous and they did not appeared on screen
Death Star escape was the set that got me back into lego star wars after many years and will always be in a special place for me even if it isn't my favourite
The Mini Heroes branding was seen as copyright infringement by Hasbro, because they didn’t want another brand to sell Star Wars figures alone, so that’s why they need to be in battle packs.
Being a Lego rebel army builder is pain since I only got back into Lego since 2023. The 2010's w/ the Rebels cartoon, Rogue One, and that decade's OT anniversaries were in hindsigjt an absolute DREAM if you loved the Rebel Alliance. The rebel army ive been able to make so far has basically cost me likely over $2000 whereas the Clones or Empire can get you a substantially larger army w/ more vehicles at that same price 💀
Another forgotten set from the Solo line is the 75207 Imperial Patrol Battle Pack. The speeder is practically perfect for it's scale. No parts wasted, not oversized. With the patrol troopers it's good for well, patrolling the perimeter of any urban style mocs, and the 2 officers are also welcome for moc builders. I'm in the minority who thinks, battle packs are not just for army builders. It's for kids, casual Lego fans, people on a budget, and for impulse buyers too. It doesn't hurt if you get some interesting looking characters from time to time. "Ki-Adi-Mundi battle pack" is a prime example. You just can't miss buying it, because you know, you won't get another chance for having Ki-Adi-Mundi or Barriss Offee in the next 10 or 20 years. In an ideal world named characters would rarely appear in these. No more than one battle pack/year. In microfighters though, they are very welcome.
The reason they don’t make the Mini figure packs is because selling only figures with no builds infringes on Hasbro’s right to make Star Wars action figures, this is also why there’s no Star Wars CMF
But polybags. The problem is that minifigures sell sets, especially remakes, in the star wars theme and the anniversary figures are clear indicators of this.

In my opinion, another pretty good Lego Star Wars set is the inferno squad battle pack. People either have forgotten about it or hated/dislike this as it had named characters and a game that no one really played, which was battlefront and they think that it did not need a set. However, I think that this is one of if not the first Lego that was set that I was desperate to get and he’s still one of my faves.

The reason Lego can’t do the minute packs is because of has to having the license to Star Wars action figures and minifigure packs fit under that I think
I do not know how true it is, but I've read comments claiming that the reason LEGO Star Wars doesn't sell minifigures alone outside of the rare promotional event is because Hasbro's lawyers get really aggressive about infringing on their monopoly on making Star Wars action figures, which is - according to said claims - why LEGO only releases those battle packs with tiny builds that no one really cares about much. Those Rebel/Empire battle packs from 2016/2017 were designed with the - at the time - new Battlefront remakes, which is why they have unique pieces like the helmets and jetpacks and a focus on on Rodians/Duros/Imperial Shocktroopers, as those were the designs and customization options featured in the games as they introduced both new designs, canonized old Legends blasters/armours and tended to showcase the films at the time, like Rogue One. A fun bit of trivia about those Old Republic sets, notice Satele Shan's design? She's based on her early concepts that were also used for the short comic series made to promote TOR, while her finished design has her look more like her own character rather than just Bastila Shan (her ancestor from KOTOR) with longer hair. Same with Jace, the unhelmeted trooper with her, his design was also changed, but in the other direction: his final design instead ended up looking like Temuera Morrison on steroids. What I like baout the lore for that Resistance troop transport is that it's supposedly rebuilt from old leftover Rebel B-Wings. Of all the problems the sequels had, visual design for world building was not one of them. I really liked all that "progression of time" stuff, shame they didn't have the smarts to focus on that more.
Moloch's landspeeder (or at least the same model of landspeeder) appears in the background in the Obi-Wan show at one point. Which I probably would not have noticed if I hadn't gotten the lego set of it.
0:56 i wish lego had made these things with some more obscure yet known characters that all have a common theme. Like Leia&Han's children from the old canon - Jacen, Jaina and Anakin; or Luke's jedi students and major novel characters like Kyle Katarn, Kup Durran and Corran Horn. Even Old Republic characters like 3 major KOTOR jedi - Revan, Malak and Zayne.
The troop transporter featured at the start of force awakens after the battle at Maz's castle where Han and Leia unite. I think it's a cool set and always good to have a transport ship for your troopers or faction when making battle scenes. The interior is cool and has spots to sit and the cockpit is nice too. Stickers and other builds make for good detail. Spring loaded shooters stop working and are useless though, however i really like it. Reasonably priced at 99.99 too.
I think that one of the most forgotten and or hated/disliked sets is the infinite squad battle 19, which people don’t like, but he’s one of my favorite Wauer sets in the first one that I can remember desperately wanting.

It was too complicated for me when it came to building it (I was 11 when it came out) and had I known both that and that a Hailfire Droid set would be released a few yrs later that was easier to build, I wouldn't have told my mom to get it for me.
