Thank you! When I was editing I was thinking the gray REALLY stands out when it's pulled back and I'm in natural outdoor light! 😁

loved your video. Thank you so much, it is a little clearer to me for measuring and finding the right size in the patterns.

Can you explain how shoulder width measurement affects how much ease is
needed for each sweater construction? I think ease is related to yoke depth too, especially on top down sweaters.

Great suggestion! That's something we can discuss in a future episode.

Great discussion. Enjoying the outdoors with you - it's been raining just about everyday here in Winnipeg 😢.
Finished a cotton summer sweater not too long ago. Knit one size larger front to accommodate for larger bust circumference (as per your video 😊). Sadly, after washing and blocking, I ended up with about 8 inches of positive ease. The goal was 4". It had some simple lace work in it. Is this why it stretched out so much? I knit a top, same yarn, same company pattern, same bust size adjustments but in stockinette and the ease was perfect.

Did you knit a swatch (and wash and block the swatch)? It could be the lace - sometimes it can open up a lot more than you think it will!

Thanks for the tips. Really helping me modify patterns so they fit better and I actually wear the items ... not just my socks.
Don't recall blocking. Definitely swatched because the lace was new to me and it took awhile for me to get the right look.

Could you talk about the sleeves? How to set on the ease for the arms through the length, as if I want it to be not so tight around the shoulder but I don't want it to be really loose, or around the wrist area. Is that accounted on the patterns or do we have to think about it accordingly? For example, a pattern with a set torso measurement may fit me and my sister, but the sleeves may fit my arm but won't fit my sister's arm both on width and length, she has ticker and longer arms than me.

That's when you'd want to look at the schematics (if there is one!) and see what measurements the designer has listed. There should be ease in the sleeve (but that will vary from one sweater to another).

I'm knitting my first sweater, the pattern gives 'finished chest measurements ', and also states 2 inches recommended positive ease. So if I'm a 38 bust, should I pick the 40 inch pattern? Or has the designer already accommodated the ease in the pattern, and I should follow the 38 inch pattern. Thank you 😊

The pattern should have built-in ease. BUT where it says 'Finished Measurements' - that should tell you the actual GARMENT measurements. So if it says the garment is 38" that's what it is - 38". If you compare that to the BODY sizes, if the designer intended it to be worn with 2" of positive ease, then the BODY size of the person who would choose that size would be 36".
So if you're 38" and add 2" = 40", you should look for a size that has a Finished Measurement closest to 40".

Just starting knitting again, I know the right-side and the wrong side, but when the directions say to knit on the wrong side...how do you do that, is this a stupid question that should be obvious? Thank you

Do exactly as it says - when the wrong side of the work is facing you - knit.
