This is a pleasant surprise, went through my last fm account which I hadn't used for a couple of years, this on there, completely forgot about it! Nice.
The signs above my head are clear to all An underachiever but a true believer Who never had a hope in hell I am the soldier I am the soldier Who fought a war for nothing I am the damage that a dream does I am the damage that a dream does Sing it out Sing it out you're not alone You are not You are not the only one You are lost and now you're found Sing it out Sing it out If I sing a song for economics The numbers never add up I am debt I am loss I am written off Again and again and again and again So I walk this line alone I endure 'cause I've always known The only way things will ever change Is if I try And I'm right And I'm right And I'm right Sing it out Sing it out you're not alone You are not You are not the only one You are lost and now you're found Sing it out Sing it out
Only just discovered them. I actually wept when I realised what this song was about. Have I joined the party too late, only to find everyone else has already gone home?
A fantastic band who should have been much bigger - the album "Left" that this comes from was one of the better albums of 2006. How the hell they were convinced to be wired up and (genuinely) electrocuted for this video is beyond me - if you don't believe they were, take a look at Sam's face around 0:18 - that is PAIN!!
+abrilrickysosa Two points: 1) they are shocked in combinations of individually and together at the same time - watch the the contractions in their various limbs, these are spontaneous and not acted; 2) there was a piece in NME at the time the single was released that told of the seemingly hair-brained idea that was taken seriously as a pitch for the video. Either way, its a great song and a great video.
It's not acting. Sam appeared on The Stage Left podcast in 2016, and around the 1 hour 26 minutes mark of the podcast, he goes into great detail around how this was set up.
So good
Haven't heard this song in ages.
RIP Jimmi Lawrence
Hope of the states, air traffic, people in planes.... amazing underrated bands

Fuck yes! Brill!!!

*Spaz-out!*
Wish they were still going
The signs above my head are clear to all
An underachiever but a true believer
Who never had a hope in hell
I am the soldier
I am the soldier
Who fought a war for nothing
I am the damage that a dream does
I am the damage that a dream does
Sing it out
Sing it out you're not alone
You are not
You are not the only one
You are lost and now you're found
Sing it out
Sing it out
If I sing a song for economics
The numbers never add up
I am debt
I am loss
I am written off
Again and again and again and again
So I walk this line alone
I endure 'cause I've always known
The only way things will ever change
Is if I try
And I'm right
And I'm right
And I'm right
Sing it out
Sing it out you're not alone
You are not
You are not the only one
You are lost and now you're found
Sing it out
Sing it out
podría oír una y mil veces

I'm not sure but the verses don't sound too optimistic.
Yea man. They sailed like a comet. Fortunately we can still see the trail in its wake.
What is this song about? I can't find an article online refering to it.
They have reformed this year and are touring with a new album soon to be released
Aaahhh no way!? 😁

+markosdayo Don't be silly, it's called acting. You really think they all happen to make the same move at the same time? : )
