You'll never know how much this song meant to a little black kid growing up in Zimababwe. I've alway's loved this song, and I come back to it every now and again because it's just so beautiful. Thank-you for being awesome.
This band's music has always given off a certain vibe I can't get anywhere else. It's like their sound reminds me of fall/winter time ( my favorite time of year) and being content and relaxed during that time...and maybe a little stoned. Especially the Wake Me When It's Over song. Listened to them on and off since around 2003-early 2004, and I always end up coming back.
Ok, story time: in 2004 I was a manager at Gadzooks. This played on our video monitors. I was trying to tell my friend about this song and could not remember the name of the song, the band or any lyrics besides “I can feel it.” It has driven me NUTS for weeks. I even considered digging my blueberry iMac out of the closet because I knew it was on my Limewire (sorry guys). Then just now all of a sudden I was like “oh it’s Longwave.” I googled it because I couldn’t believe that after weeks of torment it just came to me. Fuck. Listening to this song for the first time in almost 15 years... I am actually tearing up. I remember being 20, pregnant with my first child, standing in that store, the smell of our crappy colognes, putting this VHS(!!) in and watching this video as I opened the registers and the doors. It brings me right back. What a landmark time in my life.
Ayyye, I was working at Journeys at the time! Also 20! Heard it on our little Journey TV DVD thing they sent us every month. I walk into the store before the mall is open, and my boss is setting up the registers while it's playing on the monitor and he goes "This sounds like some of that sad shit you listen to." Boy, was he right! Still listen to them all the time. I was able to nab it on vinyl as well back in 2011 or so!
Omg Gadzooks. Forgot all about that place tho I loved it in my young days. I used to buy all my Jnco's there! Wish it were still around even if just for nostalgic reasons.
Does anyone know how they perfectly timed this with the song?? Down to the inclines and falls of the roller coaster, and the band members in the back throwing confetti / fairy dust. It seems like a single take. Amazing. Such a classic song and video, very grateful to have this up here and be able to continually experience it, it brings back memories.
They opened for Blue October at the House of Blues in Chicago on November 8th 2019. They played this song and I was immediately hooked. After the show I bought their CDs and had them signed of course! They are great!
God, can't believe this song is over 10 yrs old. Such nostalgia. i remember when i first saw them when they opened up for the strokes. i love this song. never saw the music video for it, thanks for posting
This music video is truly one of my favorites. The contrast to the lyrics and timing of the beat with the ride. It's really just so good all around. Love the song but the music video just puts it on a whole other level. Well done!
Ive seen these guys live before, and the singer dude, he doesnt LOOK LIKE much, but holy shit HE CAN EFFIN PLAY AN ELECTRIC GUITAR. Thats pretty cool u knew him...small world they say.
These guys are legendary in the Indie Rock movement. You have no idea how effin cool that is. I know the bassist was from Michigan if i recall correctly -so am I;) Everybody ive ever played this song for falls in love with it.
Eu sou Brasileiro e estou procurando essa musica faz uns 5 anos e não econtrava, meu Deus esse caras são bons de mais galera, acho que tem muita gente a procura dessa musica por aí também galera.
hahah i just found this video randomly and realized they filmed it at Scandia in Ontario, California lol im gonna feel so awesome when i ride it next time lol
i've loved this song for so long, and the guy in the orange shirt just made me feel better about loving this song and getting enjoyment from stupid things like roller coasters and relationships.
Dang! How can he play a 6'er with those LONG fingers? I have large hands and couldn't manage a 6 string and I am nimble with my hands. 5-basser was my jam. These dudes have it in spades
Went through old songs I used to post 2009-2016 so that I could transfer them to Spotify, and came across them again :D I miss listening to this and their other songs on constant repeat. This one especially; I used to watch this video over and over and over haha
This wouldn't be bad if I didn't have Justin Bieber staring at me. I'll now be up all night clutching a five iron making sure he doesn't come and steal my soul.
I read up on Vevo, now I know why people say fck them. Fck all these corporate takeovers blocking access. No one is trying to take anything. They just want advertisement money. I hope all groups go independent like Radiohead and Metric.
the beginning of this song is good and it has some other good parts but when he says i am everything you wanted it just gets a little repeditive and monotone so good bad idk idc

I have this entire album on vinyl, signed by the guys, hanging on my stairwell wall. So very underrated. This album should have won awards.

Landmark time...I like that! 👍
what a time to be alive
Filmed at the old Scandia amusement park in Ontario, California! The park was demolished a few years ago.
Does anyone know how they perfectly timed this with the song?? Down to the inclines and falls of the roller coaster, and the band members in the back throwing confetti / fairy dust. It seems like a single take. Amazing. Such a classic song and video, very grateful to have this up here and be able to continually experience it, it brings back memories.
they had the rollercoaster built to fit the song
Their songs were fantastic. I saw them opening for The Strokes in 2002, they made an impression on me.
They opened for Blue October at the House of Blues in Chicago on November 8th 2019. They played this song and I was immediately hooked. After the show I bought their CDs and had them signed of course! They are great!
Saw them in Tulsa on that same tour. I've been hooked since.
For some reason, this song gives me huge nostalgia!

This music video is truly one of my favorites. The contrast to the lyrics and timing of the beat with the ride. It's really just so good all around. Love the song but the music video just puts it on a whole other level. Well done!
I went to high school with the lead singer, he was great back then in the late 99s
Ive seen these guys live before, and the singer dude, he doesnt LOOK LIKE much, but holy shit HE CAN EFFIN PLAY AN ELECTRIC GUITAR. Thats pretty cool u knew him...small world they say.

Great!
Did he sing the song very fast when doing the video, so that when they slowed down the video, the lip sync would be normal speed?
Where is this?
Went through old songs I used to post 2009-2016 so that I could transfer them to Spotify, and came across them again :D I miss listening to this and their other songs on constant repeat. This one especially; I used to watch this video over and over and over haha
