  • This video shows an Adenium Bonsai Repotting to Get Giant Caudex and Thick Canopy with update. Friends, if you are interested in adenium bonsai or growing adeniums, I recommend you to watch this video till the end because some important precautionary steps to follow are there towards the end of this video.
    In this video first an adenium bonsai plant is uprooted and the soil is washed out from the roots .Then the branches are trimmed for more branches which will form a thick canopy resulting in more adenium flowers. Now the adenium plant is left hanging in shade for 15-days for drying. Drying reduces the chance of rotting. It also instigates the adenium plant to store water and nutrient in the caudex and the caudex grows fat. This is the general process of making desert rose bonsai with massive caudex.
    After 15 days drying the desert rose plant bonsai is now repotted raising 1 inch of the main root above the soil and leaving 2 inches gap between the root and the pot. During repotting I shows the ingredients used in the soil for adenium. I also shows 8 important precautionary steps to follow in this repotting part.
    Next in the video comes the update after 3 months. In this part it is seen that the root raised above the soil is gradually turning into caudex and the adenium plant has produced many branches which , in the flowering season will bloom tons of flowers. In course of time this adenium plant bonsai will become a perfect adenium bonsai tree.
    I`m thankful to You Tube Audio Library for the music used in this video.
    dot basecamp is a tutorial channel on Pot Gardening . In this channel I am committed to share my experience as well as knowledge that I`ve gathered on Pot Gardening specially on growing of Adeniums .I`ve been stick to Pot Gardening for over 20 years. Once I started Pot Gardening with some season plants. That was the starting point of my journey. In other words that was my Base Camp. But now I`m far away from that Base Camp. And now my Base Camp looks like a dot. Still I`m a learner, almost mad for learning. In this channel I, along with my valued learners, want to learn how Pot Gardening, from making pots to blooming, is made so beautiful, almost incredibly beautiful. Videos on my adeniums, house plants, cactus, orchid and many experiments on adeniums, bonsai, pot making are generally uploaded in this channel. I have a little orchard in my terrace. I make videos on it though adenium is always my hot tea.
    Friends, if you are interested in adeniums and pot gardening and like my channel, you may subscribe my channel and click on the bell icon to get notifications of my new videos. You are also free to leave any comments and suggestions. The general upload schedule of dot basecamp is around 7-30 PM every Saturday.

    What is the proper age of adenium for making bonsai & how many days we can kept the plant after cutting the root for drying.

    • @dotbasecamp
      @dotbasecamp  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      See what I follow : I let the plant grow in natural way for a life cycle year i.e. growing(after 1st potting ) - flowering - -dormancy - growing ( You see one cycle is over and the plant comes back to growing stage again.) It`s the time to judge its health, caudex and root shape and to decide for a bonsai project.
      Duration of drying depends on the plant`s age,health,size and temperature/climate.

      This is Obesum. Only keep in mind that Arabicum is more desertly plant than Obesum.

    At which age of plant ....Can we start to prune sir....

    • @dotbasecamp
      @dotbasecamp  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can start doing it on 90 days seedlings. But what I do and think more seasonable ( except any experiment ) is after completing a life cycle. Life cycle = 1st potting ( from seed bed ) - growing - flowering - dormancy- growing (Spring )

    Hello :) my Adenium's leaves are pale green instead of dark green! Any suggestions? Thanks!

    • @dotbasecamp
      @dotbasecamp  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Your plant`s leaves are not dark green- it means the leaves are in low chlorophyll concentration. So the plant may suffer from nitrogen deficiency.Apply nitrogen rich fertilizer.

    There is no any root rot ..Plant is placed on partial shade with 4-5 hours morning direct sun light..Please help

    • @dotbasecamp
      @dotbasecamp  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have you cut the tap root , dried and repotted it ? If yes, how many days ago? Now check if the medium is moist. Sometimes caudex gets shrinked and softened for water deficiency? If so, manage watering and it will be solved. If not, write with more details.

      I think your plant is going thru boron deficiency. Mixing adequate amount of compost is always preferable for all nutrients. Any way you may add boron in the foliar spray.
