I don't actually mind the console version all that much, despite how dissimilar it is to... every Crash game before it, and the gameplay is at least solid and kinda fun. If the DS version were a bit longer I would easily consider it the better game. As it stands I enjoy them equally, but for different reasons.

I honestly think the main thing holding the DS version back for me is the number of levels. I know it's on a handheld system, but I feel it could have done with at least a couple more. Both versions of the game have long levels, but the console version also has double that of the DS version.

So something that was most definitely unintentional but neat that I noticed was that this and Domination Army each capture one half of Cortex. AtDB is more lighter, faster, and a bit more upbeat, like the goofy bumbling dork Cortex is in a lot of things (Twinsanity) Meanwhile DA is a slower, low pitched, and has a more sinister undertone, like the cunning, more threatening Cortex from the PS1 version of the original trilogy. Truly a masterpiece these songs are
