  • In this tutorial we have explained the method for determining the torque and power of turbo machinery in CFD Post 18.1
If you want to enhance your CFD skills in ANSYS, please have a look on the following courses:
Mastering Ansys CFD (Level 1) : Designed for newbies in CFD filed with the intention of explaining each and every option in full details which you usually not find anywhere else.

Mastering Ansys CFD (Level 1) : Designed for newbies in CFD filed with the intention of explaining each and every option in full details which you usually not find anywhere else.
Mastering Ansys CFD (Level 2) : Designed for experienced CFD users who want to solve the practical fluid dynamics problems of industrial level using CFD techniques. You will learn two problems, right now, one is on simulation of Missile and second is CFD simulation of Centrifugal Fan. In both problems you will learn from geometry to meshing to CFD solution to post processing.

Introduction to ICEMCFD Hexa. In this coruse you will learn Hexa meshing in ICEMCFD. You will also get one bonus problem of CFD simulation of same air foil with hexa mesh created in previous section.

You can create a "Surface Group" in CFD-Post, then you can choose the surfaces and make them together as one, after that you can calculate the torque in one time.

Well Explained. Could you tell me how to plot the torque for each time step in a transient simulation? Thank you.

I have 2 questions. The first one is why we choose a hub , blades, leading and trailing edges??? and also can you show me exactly which one are these edges(I know what is trailing and leading edges)???

Hi Mr. Sijal, I have tried to do the same procedure but I get this message " Error " cannot calculate force. variable ' pressure' does not exist.

Hi, im using ansys fluent for my savonius wind turbine. For 3 blade. Wind speed is 7m/s. And rad/s is 4. Is it normal to have the torque as negative?

Yes. And it happens when vector direction is opposite

ANSYS CFD tutorials and courses and to find the torque coefficient, i just need to follow the calculation and step that you have show in the part 1?
