Hi, thanks for the great video! Could you possible make a savonius simulation inside a pipe? and derive power graphs and power coefficient graphs with RPM? That would be a huge help. There is a gap in existing videos! And it is very important for me and other people I guess. It would be really life saving and a good addition for this amazing channel
Add wind-deflectors to the VAWT-model. It will eliminate the drag and redirect the negative wind into positive. Example from real a test VAWT with(out) deflectors: Wind 2 m/s, without deflectors 0 rpm, with 215 rpm Wind 5 m/s, without deflectors 286 rpm, with 509 rpm Wind 10 m/s, without deflectors 480 rpm, with 813 rpm
@@sandippoudel5160 Did you find the recommended video? It's enough for me to know that only VAWT with deflectors have the highest efficiency. Without deflectors they lose not only available air flow, but also the drag slows them down. The only exception (so far) would be the "Bi-rotary Hilton wind system" by hiltondynamics. Hi , can you please tell me what happened to the turbine wall that you initially created ? I saw that you subtracted from the small cylinder around it but in mesh when you had a cross section it seemed like the rigid body of wall is subtracted from it ? or when you moved to design modeler it counts the turbine wall and the cylinder around it one item
HI Fluent Setup! I like your videos a lot and they've been an excellent guide on Fluent. I am having some trouble on a particular VAWT case. Can I contact you for some assistance?
Hi, I used that formula so the inlet velocity transitions slowly from a value of v=0 at t=0, to a value of v=v0, at a large enough value of t. If I had used a constant velocity, you would have seen the velocity transition from v=0 at t=0, to v=v0 in just a few time steps. And that wouldn't look realistic. Hope that clarifies it.

I think because he wants that the velocity to increase gradually until gets 8 [m/s] following that function. it's not necessary if you want a constant velocity on inlet only put 8[m/s]

This is definitely the Best TH-cam channel on ANSYS fluent
Wow, it is very good video. It will help me to learning Ansys Fluent. Thank you so much!
You're welcome.

Hello do i need to do anything in the setup animation before solving so i can see the rotation or no need i can see it in solution?
What exactly does the formula you wrote in the velocity magnitude section mean?
