Teachers in Washington are paid well. I have 2 children that are teachers and they have masters degree. Washington is the 5th in the country in teachers’ wages.

A lot of Redheads don't sweat properly, so the red heads in our family drink a lot of liquid IV, gatorade type drinks whenever they are outside or exercising.
Heat stroke IS a thing. Once you get it, you are forever susceptible. Be suuuuuper careful! Even without the burn, it affects insides too!!! It’s been 112 here with 98% humidity. It’s not the same there. We have EMS on all of the construction areas, traveling around to check people who may be resting in the shade….its a BEAST!
My family used to say the same until I went to a retreat. 😉 Now they know I have real friends. I'm in a video for proof. Haha 😂 Thank- you ladies for the validation! ❤

Your information last week about You Tube was very educational for 'regular people' who don't understand how the system works. Ontario Canada is experiencing high inflation prices also & listening to your costs helped to understand why ALL prices are higher. Yes, nurses & teachers deserve higher wages as both have unique skills which require a high level of responsibility. Watching your channel is the next best thing to visiting you! Now, we even know a few 'regulars' in your classes - new friends indeed:)

Minimum wage wasn't meant to live on. It is for part-time workers and entry level workers, students etc. Businesses weren't to use it for career positions. I do fall asleep watching on my laptop. I have compression socks from a company called Sockwell. They are made of wool and I'm sure some other fibers. They don't get hot and since I am a nurse I wear them every day at work, and if I am wearing long pants I wear them. When I made my cat food I wear them because it is a laborious project and I am on my feet for hours. I love them.
I doze off watching You Tube. But worse, when I worked the night shift as a nurse, long long ago when we had paper charts, I would occasionally look down and realize I had dozed off and wrote weird things on the patients’ charts. Worse than shopping while asleep. LOL

Just went to buy groceries. Major Great Lakes area retailer (Meijer) has Dukes Mayo. In my opinion, it is somewhere between boring, bland Hellmanns and zippier, vinegary Miracle Whip (I grew up on that.) I liked the Dukes.

I had to return Lock Every Door before I was done with it, so I am waiting for it again. I just finished Calling on the Matchmaker and really enjoyed it. Never really thought of the Irish immigrant population in St. Louis. The next book in the series is coming out next month I think. I recently finished When the Lights Go Out. The first 2/3 wasn't bad but am so disappointed with how it wrapped up. I liked Tiger Lily which was about Peter Pan and Tiger Lily.

They are hiring people to work at McDonald's for 15 dollars an hour. I remember when I started the workforce I was getting paid 3.50 an hour working at a nursing home. Then went to a factory making 3 75 an hour. Done that for 6 years. That made me want to to back to school to get a college degree. Even after that my first office job in accounting only started out at 7.50 an hour. Granted I only got an associate degree. But anyway what a difference in inflation from then till now. That was like 35 to 37 years ago. I live in cook county in Illinois most call it crooked county and we get taxed on everything. 1 item could have 5 to 6 different taxes on it. We are about the same as you on the cost of gas and bread. It is crazy. Ok I'm gonna get back to the video. 😊

Will have to try our Winco in Tri Cities. Funny story my husband will not eat anything but Best foods or Hellmans(same). I used an off brand to make salad dressing. I had about a cup of it left so thought what the heck he will never know. So I dumped the off brand into my best food jar. Next time hubby made a sandwich. His first words were Is the mayo out dated, did you leave it out. Is it spoiled and it continued he was upset his sandwich wasn’t good. Couple days later I realized what I had done.. BUT did I tell him. Not on your life.. was months before I fessed up. I am lucky we are still married so I get the Bestfoods. You can tell the difference.
Lol! Not about mayo, but my hub said he only liked log cabin syrup. Was at Costco and they had mrs Butterworth. Bought it and re filled the log cabin bottles for over 2 years. Every time he said he only liked log cabin I would look away to keep from laughing! About a year into it, I told the kids, and eventually him. He took it well, and we all still make jokes about "log cabin".

If I lived closer to the coastline I’d stop by and say hello. BTW, mid state of Alaska is considered to be dessert climate, more like Soap Lake. If you ever get a chance, do a train ride from Anchorage to Fairbanks. It’s gorgeous and if you stop in Denali, there’s lots of chances to see wildlife. I can tell you that the darkness in the winter has even more impact on sleep. Especially after a few years of getting accustomed to the extended light in the summer. But, the winter can have great northern light shows.
I've only watched the first three minutes and have to comment on the yoga pants. My husband calls them trolling pants, lol. Every time he sees a woman in them when we're out shopping, he says yep look at her trolling for a man. I've tried to tell him how comfortable they are but he isn't buying it. I do have jeggings and love them and he says they look nice. I rarely wear makeup and he says that's why he was attracted to me back when we were in high school, 48 years ago. He said I was all natural looking and didn't look all made up which he did not like. Okay, back to the chat.

🤟 guess I have a lot to say today….😂 Min wage in Austin (city level)= $15 A Big Mac meal here in Central Texas is 9.99 plus 8.25% tax -so $10.82 gas is findable for $2.99 - 3.07 per gallon for regular-milk is $3.53 for 2% (Walmart)- bread is between $4-6 per loaf depending on what type. Avocados ore .70-.80 …eggs $3-5 for 18 pack…we only really have two places to buy groceries here : Walmart or HEB (huge beautiful chain store in almost every city in Texas)
Complaints about inflation: we live in one of the best states (WA), in the US. So much to offer… that doesn’t come free..but it is not the most expensive state. Quilting is a wonderful hobby, paid with discretionary funds…. Blame inflation on the greed of large companies and CEO’s who want more and more, regardless of the impact on the ordinary citizen. Don’t blame it on the Democrats. Your life will be much worse if Trump gets in again. We are doomed if so.
I wasn’t blaming the democrats. I didn’t say that. I wasn’t blaming anyone… and probably shouldn’t have even brought it up because I hate to get involved in these kinds of conversations. This was just a runoff of the conversation about how high Fabric is getting. Fabric is expensive and I appreciate the fact that we are in a hobby business. I absolutely love where I live. I burn really easily too! I burn and peel always and never tan! Lots of sunscreen and hats. And saltines for the salt for energy.

Milk in Eastern Kansas is 2.42 for gallon, gas is 3.15/gallon.
Min wage here is federal wage. Eggs are around 3 dollars.
So your costs are a little bit less, but I’m not sure the hourly wage makes up for it… It must be a bit tough there.

Quilting is a wonderful hobby, paid with discretionary funds…. Blame inflation on the greed of large companies and CEO’s who want more and more, regardless of the impact on the ordinary citizen. Don’t blame it on the Democrats. Your life will be much worse if Trump gets in again. We are doomed if so.

This was just a runoff of the conversation about how high Fabric is getting.
Fabric is expensive and I appreciate the fact that we are in a hobby business.
