- Safely replace the 12v battery on a toy electric jeep / car with one that is far cheaper and that will have a longer run time also why you should avoid using higher voltage upgrades like 18v, 24v and 48v batteries.

Many of the more well known drill batteries have aftermarket alternatives, that are up to 9 amp hours, while still being cheaper than a stock replacement. If you use a voltage regulator & step it down to the original voltage, you should be able to safely get much longer run time. Many I know have pretty bad performance with their ride ons, because they leave them plugged in almost all the time, but they still have short runtime. Drill batteries can be charged with their own charger, without needing to be inside the vehicle. They don't have to remain in extreme outside temperatures. Drill batteries have a reduced risk of being overcharged, because the charger typically shuts itself off. Also, you can often fit two in parallel, so you can swap one out to charge, while still using the other one. Also, drill batteries are typically much lighter.
Perfectly explained everything that I was looking for. Going to try it soon
Found a power wheels in the dumpster did not have battery nor charger I ended up clipping the connector off and hooked up a motorcycle battery and it works perfectly fine I can charge the motorcycle battery with my motorcycle battery charger thank you for the insight on the in-line fuse I totally ignored the fact about an in-line fuse my mistake but luckily no mistakes has happened yet and I can still do that
Thankyou for excellent video . Purchased vehicle for granddaughter , and wanted second battery but price was a third of the price of newly bought vehicle . Now Ile be doing your informative conversion .nice one (stay safe ) ð·
Glad it helped
Best video on this that I have seen....
Simple, to the point.....
Thanks buddy!
Glad you liked it!
I second this comment!!
Can you send a link of everything I recently found the same jeep chilling near a dumpster except it did not have the battery in it thereâs was nothing else missing to it just the battery
Question:
1. Any tips on how to care for my 12v battery?
2. Like, how long should I charge it? Will I damage it if I charge too long?
3. How high should the voltage get on it?
4. Power Wheels says to charge them at least once a month, is that what I should do for all SLA batteries?
5. When I use it, should I wait to charge until it's completely dead, or can I charge any time?
6. Will I damage the battery if I leave it hooked-up in the powerwheel all the time for months (like I currently do)?
THANKS!
Get a smart charger to avoid all of that
Just get a pulse charger with repair function; they're also super useful for car batteries.
One question please, I have bought a car for my son and I changed the motors, I put in higher revs. my problem is that it works for 15 seconds and then it turns off by itself and turns on after 5 seconds. this happens constantly. it had a 12v battery 4.5Ah and I put a new 12v 9Ah one but it still does the same thing. Do you know what the problem is? Can you help me?
Since the battery that you recommend is an AGM type would you not need a charger that is for AGM type battery?
Wondering would I be able to use a 12v battery from the parkside tools in my sons power wheels its mercedes actros 12v it came with 2 12v batterys upgraded but they are flat and take way to long to charge so I'm not mad on the idea of just replacing the batterys for the same again i dont want to break anything either I'm good with my hands but clueless to what to do any help would be appreciated great vid thanks
I'd try a 12v pulse charger with repair function to try to save the old batteries first, since they're $30 or less off Amazon.
What if you no longer have the original battery and are looking to fully replace how do we get the battery to function?
So mine has a 12v 7ah battery. I should be able to just throw the 12v 12 ah one in right?
Yes it will be fine and should last 40% more in drive time.
Thank you! I appreciate the help!
Can I use a 12v lifepo4 battery with the same charger that came with the vehicle?
All the answers on the internet state don't do it. To know all the technical reasons behind why not search: "can a SLA charger be used with a lifepo4 battery"
Do I have to change my fuse if Iâm going to install a 12v in a car that originally used a 6v?
Most 12v electric cars / jeeps for kids have a 15 Amp fuse
how many minute those the battery last?
Around 25% more drive time compared to the original battery which was 9.5Ah and the new one is 12Ah.
How much longer do these last battery vs the old one
In theory a 12Ah battery will give you roughly 20-25% more life over a 9.5Ah battery and there are 12v batteries with even more Ah to give even more life before recharging but you need to check that they will physically fit in the battery bay before buying one.
@@brieftodo ive got a 12v with 12mah rating that came with the car... Would like to find a better battery then this that will last longer
Good video can you send me a link where you got the battery from
I'm based outside the USA but this battery has the same specs as the one I used and has a lot of positive reviews amzn.to/3dcld3c (affiliate)
Thank you for the info. I couldnât justify spending $90 on a battery I hate in the first place. You should put that link at the top of the comments. ðð
Where can I buy?
