I have no dash, it just shows press brake and start. I only hear click sound when i press start button with pressing brake and nothing happens when i press start button without brake no dash light with that either!
My window and doors lock unlock fine! But my steering is lock.
Can you suggest what i should look for. My mechanic says to buy the entire security system of the car and replace it all which i find it insane! I changed my engine too 2013 nissan altima

Don't listen to your mechanic. He is a looser. I suspect the steering lock module. They are known of failing. Get someone to check it properly and not just guessing.
