One important thing to note is that when you parry something in the air, you get your extra jump back. That means for the 3 or 4 wave attack, you don’t need to land on the ground at all. You can double jump, parry the white waves and then jump again, using the air dash to get some extra air time if need be or use it for repositioning.
I know that helps but evey time i use my jade this f*** w** use her jade or any attack it is nearly impossible to take damage without get a hit. When Studio uses speed and no hitrunners as measurement for difficulty designmechanics they are maximal stupid.
Had to look for this guide after beating her in the normal ending end tried to get the real ending. That third phase is something else but with this guide, it was way simpler, didn´t take that many tries to beat her. GREAT GUIDE MY GUY!
THANK YOU!! this helped clear up a lot about this fight for me! i had no idea that you could just jump over the three/four wave red slashes, i was dashing through them and hoping i could hit the parry for the white slashes. i'm not as confident with Unbound Counters but all that extra damage is too good to pass up. after clearing the Pantheon of Hallownest, this was a surprising challenge! this will probably be one of my favorite fights in gaming for a WHILE.
Definitely! It feels amazing when she goes in for the side slash, with the 3 delayed hits and you unbounded counter all of them and unleash your charged strike right after. This is my fav bossfight of all time
Thanks!! This video helped me beat Eigong’s third phase. My biggest issue was the full screen slashes. I noticed that I was essentially focusing on jumping too much for those attacks. I focused on parrying first rather than being airborne and got through the fight
I used Immovable Jade (charged strike charges quicker) and Focus Jade (enhanced charged strike). You can punish her with a charged strike after she hits you twice and opens her back in the high stance, or after she pokes you three times in the low stance. Also, I used Qi Blast, which gives you bow ammo. You can use it after she has just dashed behind you with the triple slash or every time she kneels. You hold a charged strike, and immediately after the Qi Blast, you release the attack button, spam the bow attack (cloud piercer), and after the bow, just press an attack, so you will do a charged attack. It chunks out 20-25% of her health. You can beat her phase in up to a minute. You can use Full Control as well. It is easier but does less damage. The quicker you deal with her, the fewer attacks you need to avoid, and the better your odds are.
Phase 3 is kicking my teeth in, but I nailed phases 1 and 2 the other day, phase 2 was thanks to this guide, but she’s so much fun to fight. Feels almost like sword Saint isshin from sekiro
Took over 2 hours until reaching phase 3, saw this video and started using unbounded counter in every situation i was capable of and i could clear the boss in the next 10-15 attempts. If ur strugling i do suggest getting familiar with the timming of red attacks since unbounded counters also deal a lot of internal damage while forcing an opening to chip some damage with slashes while she is stunned.
Thank you so much, you're a lifesaver. I clicked onto your video hoping for a solution to her phase 3 screenwide, which I didn't really find because it gives me legit sensory overload and I'm forced to just spam L1 and pray, but seeing that parrying her two-hit air combo sends you to the ground with enough time to Unbound Counter her red downslash and make another punish window was exactly what I needed to crack this fight.
I use the full control talisman option. I find that her talisman attack lacks vertical range, so if you jump and plant talisman right before her talisman attack, you can charge it all the way and be safe. A fully charged talisman attack will also stagger her.
I noticed with the three and four-wave attack she opens Phase 2 with, she always alternates between the two. Going from 4 to 3 to 4 to 3 etc. Makes it a lot easier to react to it. It changes in the third phase where I wasn't sure if there was a pattern since she would sometimes add the fullscreen attack onto the end of it.
Your production quality rivals that of your soothing, and inspiring voice haha seriously though, this was super well put together and it's giving me the confidence to try this fight again. Thanks!
Finally beat her today after a break for a few months. One piece of advice- don't be too aggressive in stage two. She often slips back leaving black fire, meaning that dashing after her to use talismans will get you burned. wat for the openings after her big attacks, or the ones in her sword combos.
It's interesting seeing what you decide to Parry and Dodge. Like the big orb unblockable, I find too hard to react to with a Charged Parry so I just end up dodging out of the way and punishing her with a enhanced charge attack, I also run the fastfall Jade so that when she does the talisman strike I can dash to the ground and have enough time to charge Parry the unblockable drop if she does it(you can Dodge out of it if she doesn't), which also gives you a full punish phase 2 by the orb unblockable since it comes in a sequence making it much easier to deal with. Having the Perry instant charged attack jade it means that when she does the lowest strings you can always punish with a Charged attack when she does the third hit and that generally even if you don't have enough time to do a full talisman strike you can just do the charge attack for some damage. And phase 3 is just blocking those screen wipes and waiting for your openings like phase 2
I tried so hard not to look up videos like yours but when I realised she has a phase 3 after 2h of just trying to beat her phase 2 I gave up. Thx for the tips, I'll try them out. I have another tip that I found out. When she goes to her stance to do those massive red and white slashes in phase 2 and 3, it can be easily interrupted with an arrow. You can replenish your shots (if you have the build and 3 ki charges of course) by planting a talisman after her charge multiple sticks (you know the cool one where she poses will there's a tornado of slashes behind her). You really have the time to detonate the talisman . Same if you plant them just after dodging her orb plunge or the massive slash when she poses in the middle of the flames. Just make sure to jump above the flames before planting your charges.
You can definitely get a five orb full control talisman attack in phase two. It's just not guaranteed. When she does a jump attack with two white slashes followed by a red one, do an unbound counter and stun her. Here you can sometimes do a full control attack. But sometimes she decides to do another attack pretty fast after, so be prepared to abort and dodge. The tell is if you throw her sword back like she's cleaning it from blood, then you know you have plenty of time to keep charging the full control attack. After a slide slash is another opportunity. Same tell. I've also found that if you dodge a talisman attack in phase two, she will always follow it with a jump attack.
Here's a tip that helped me a ton, which feels dumb in hindsight - put your attention on your opponent, not on yourself. I used to keep my focus around my hitbox and use my peripheral vision to keep track of the enemy. However, in Eigong's fight, it's much easier to focus on its moves, as it'll give you much more time to figure out what is coming next. Plus, for the 4-slash thing in phase 2, think of them as melee attacks rather than ranged helps a lot with timing - they travel so fast so it's no different than blocking a melee in your face.
Your videos on point - super clear and concise. Thank you so much Small note - you're able (or i can at least) to use fully charged Full Control in place of Water Flow with Stasis Jade activated.
Yeah I don't know why he's jumping and dashing over her, her initial slide doesn't deal damage. If you stay on the ground and use the talisman to go through her, you can fit a whole 3 slash combo and a second talisman for a much bigger punish.
Interesting to see you using water flow. I'm still trying to beat this fight, and other guides have recommended full control, but just like you said, it starts to break down in phase 2. Interestingly, there are tons of opportunities in phase 1 to plant talismans with water flow, because you don't have to pause to detonate... but I find the detonations cause a split second stagger, and because they are so delayed, this can throw off your parry timing if she's in the middle of a combo--- generally not enough to take damage, but enough to take some internal damage. Anyway, I'm starting to get the hang of phase two, but the two different variations of her uppercut combo have been throwing me off. Glad to see it spelled out here. Thanks!
yo thanks for this video, was going to shit on 3rd phase after i see that move, but turn out that's the best design. 1st and 2nd has some inconsistence move that is super easy to read, but very depend on reaction time (which I'm lack on). While that move is just "you see, you do the same move", and it give enough time to react to other move. If every boss fight is like 3rd phase, tbh I would like this game more.
This is a pretty good guide considering how early it was made! I do think you missed some details and a couple tips tho Remember to anticipate both of the strikes in the up down combo in phase 2, as you'll have enough time to dodge the flame pillar even if there isn't a second hit. Piercing arrow can interrupt red attacks like the wave slashes, which can be useful if you're not in a position to handle them or if you want to sneak in an extra opening. This strategy is paired well with the talisman style that refreshes ammo upon detonation. Water flow is good but you'll have enough time to use a 3 chi charge in between attacks, and even 5 charges after red attacks. You can sneak in a charged strike after Eigong uses high stance. You can make the opening bigger by positioning yourself close enough so that Eigong moves too far forward and has to turn around to hit you. As said in the video, anytime Eigong passes through you is likely an opening. This is especially effective with the jade that instantly readies your charge strike upon a perfect parry, as well as the jade that consumes one charge to increase charge strike damage. Finally, I very much recommend attempting to parry the horizontal slash during the screen wide slashes in phase 3. The attack is designed so that parrying all the strikes will give you enough airtime to parry the following red attack. Dodging the horizontal slash, as shown in the video, reduces Yi's airtime and often leads to landing on the ground too early, which leaves you vulnerable to the follow up talisman attack, also shown in the video. If it's the unparriable variant, double jumping or dashing are both viable. I completely agree with the the advice of both letting Eigong come to you and keeping your eyes on Eigong instead of Yi. Very good tips. And of course, learning the rhythm of each move is essential. Again, very good video :D
i honestly dont feel they are that bad in the boss fights, but some of the normal enemies its so hard to time it on, epsecially the laser archer ladies.
Or turn story mode and pretty much set settings to turn into a god lol, man for my sanity i had to do that, seems my reaction time cant handle this, reminds me of the dlc version of the final boss of hollow knight, these fights are designed for a specific gamer that has insane reaction times, good luck yall im done 😂 I felt all of the rest of the bosses were fair on standard difficulty except this one
As a Souls veteran, I don’t think the fight was any harder than some of the tougher bosses in that genre, Ishiin Ashina, Slave Knight Gael, Orphan of Kos, I definitely wouldn’t say she’s harder than Melania or Consort Radahn. You know, the bosses that took gamers with my skill level a few hours to finally beat. The problem is she SEEMS so much harder because of the difficulty spike. Dont get me wrong, the rest of the game is challenging, but it’s like… medium challenging, if that makes sense. It’s like “medium hard”. Most of the bosses took me no more than 5-6 tries to beat with the exception of maybe the twins (Fauxi or whatever), and Lady Ethernal. Which maybe took me like 45 minutes to finally get down. But then here comes Eigong, and she is a full blown HARD HARD boss. Like a hard boss from a Fromsoftware game, a brutally hard one. And it catches you by surprise. And that’s where a lot of people I think it pissed off because they’ve played the whole game with the kind of chill mentality, but now they have to bring all of their A game to perfection. You have to use every skill you’ve learned in the game, but up until this point, you didn’t really have to use all the skills besides in certain scenarios. Like the unbound counter, I barely used it unless I absolutely had to. But now, with this boss , not only do I have to use it, but I have to kind of master it. Anyways, after about four hours, I finally got her, the true ending as well, meaning all three phases. The good thing about the third phase is that she seems to have less health. Once you master the block block Dodge of full screen attack in the third phase, and you get the right time to hit her with a bomb. You’ll pretty much get her.
sword saint was way easier. you can mount pressure on sword saint and melt his posture allowing for a quick kill, you have to do so much waiting for this boss to tickle her health bar. i find myself dying a lot because i get bored and lose focus
This is one style of beating the boss. I use a different one and I suggest that you figure out you're own way of beating the boss unless it's too challenging.
How are you getting Azure sand back with water flow? I keep seeing you regen arrows and it doesn't make any sense. Is that just creative editing or am I missing something?

The difficulty spike is just wayy too high
Is there a way to recover your points if you die in this battle? I wasn’t able to upgrade anything before this battle. I had no idea it was coming up. Am I screwed? Lol
The "normal" ending is after a 2 phase battle. True ending and the fight that precedes it requires various criteria to be met including finishing up everything with Shennong and Shuanshuan, and finding a powerful explosive. Details can be found online easily enough if you need more specifics.
I hate bosses with extremely ridiculous one hit attacks in their 2nd phase that were nowhere in the first. Ramp us up to it, I shouldn’t have to do the first phase of a boss *perfectly* for a CHANCE to experiment with a ridiculously punishing move.
Did they make it harder since this or something?????? She literally doesn’t care when I counter the red talisman she does it again and again this is so dumb
Thanks but this Boss is absolut trash for exampke all combats are in flow but here they implement an stop motion visualization that makes all mechanics you are learned in this game useless.
nope, absolutely horrible end boss. I switched to story mode after wasting hours on her and still can't. Uninstalled and watched ending on TH-cam. Glad I pirated this game after this boss debacle.

The lighting slash she does with the 3 slashes is actually perfect for getting an easy 3 perfect parries, with enough time for a talisman

I don't think I will get to phase 3 as a new gamer who can't keep an eye on attacks from many direction. Dang. So hard);
there is a third phase?! i came looking for help on the second one :(
Can someone explain why i just had 2 phases?
The "normal" ending is after a 2 phase battle. True ending and the fight that precedes it requires various criteria to be met including finishing up everything with Shennong and Shuanshuan, and finding a powerful explosive. Details can be found online easily enough if you need more specifics.
The bro is playing perfectly have all stats maxed out and still it was very hard to beat, im really struggling.
Man does eigong think she is Virgil which blitzing attack speeds
Great guide, but after watching this I immediately switched to story mode. This is just too crazy lol
I hate bosses with extremely ridiculous one hit attacks in their 2nd phase that were nowhere in the first. Ramp us up to it, I shouldn’t have to do the first phase of a boss *perfectly* for a CHANCE to experiment with a ridiculously punishing move.
Why my eigong have only 2 phase?
you prob didnt meet the requirements of true ending
Bullshit boss , especially 3 phase .A very very long and
exhausting fight
This boss fight is an example of how not to do an end boss. Nothing in the game prepares you for this. What a waste of my time.
Did they make it harder since this or something?????? She literally doesn’t care when I counter the red talisman she does it again and again this is so dumb
Yeah fuck this, turning on story mode. I cba with this game. Couldn’t wait to uninstall it.
easiest way to enjoy the game without killing your sanity switch to story mode thank me later
srry bud thats a skill issue
@@vv_slixx4857 this dificult spike is complete bullshit give up at stage 3
Thanks but this Boss is absolut trash for exampke all combats are in flow but here they implement an stop motion visualization that makes all mechanics you are learned in this game useless.
nope, absolutely horrible end boss. I switched to story mode after wasting hours on her and still can't. Uninstalled and watched ending on TH-cam. Glad I pirated this game after this boss debacle.
