There's a THIRD PHASE!!!!! I gave up and came to this TH-cam video after dying immediately on my three attempts that made it to phase two. I'm never gonna beat this
the learning curve for the three phase is so brutal, i can hitless the first phase and 2 heal the second phase but learning the third phase is tough cause it takes 8 mins to reach it every time
For me the first phase is harder then the second. In second you have more time to heal yourself at times. 3rd phase is brutal, struggling with it rn. Hopefully I beat it in next couple hours max.
@@vision7208 I agree I beat her too. I played so much that the first 2 phases were done with barely any health potions used. For the third phase every time I got low health I used my bow to stun her for a second and use healing potion. Didn’t really master the 3rd phase but won anyway.
Exactly, the boss is abit tedious on standard they should nerf her HP by about 10 percent to shave off some of that time it takes to reach 3rd phase. Other than that this fight is fantastic
using the divine hand jade on this boss is insanely good, you can unbound counter every attack from the 4 hit opener in 2nd phase, aswell as predict her dash triple slash to get 3 more unbound counters stacking of some crazy amounts of internal damage. the feeling of stacking up enough internal damage through hedgehog jade and divine hand jade with taichi kicks and unbound counters to one shot each phase is immaculate.
I think what many guides sleep on is her unsheathe attack. It’s a prime punish opportunity even though it doesn’t look like one. But it’s very easy to dodge away from the slashes with the talisman dash, making it the best method to damage her actually.
Oh snap I didn't even think of that. The way I did it was parrying the 3 slashes, then using qi blast. She'll only ever stand there or try to use the talisman attack, and if you have the talisman freeze jade there's just enough time to jump and tai chi kick. Another strategy I saw was someone using a single unbounded parry for all 3 slashes, doing a lot of internal damage.
@@QuokkaWaka the thing is - and I think it’s easy to presume otherwise - her initial dash does not actually damage you. It looks like a powerful attack but actually it’s her standing still for quite a long time.
I really recommend Full Control with Steely Jade and Reciprocation Jade. First one makes you immortal (all damage is transferred to internal) while detonating talisman (though not grab immune), second one lets you to transfer big chunk of internal damage back to Eigong. I usually run my talismans at around Eigong head level so she can't grab me and then I'm waiting for talisman into slash/slash/red downward slash to Unbounded Counter it and transfer damage back to her. Also worth noting that 5 QI Full Control actually forces her on her knees, what stops 100% moves in first two phases, though not 3 phase full screen combo. I think it's worth practicing Unbounded counter for bomb attacks, shockwave attacks, and talisman into slash/slash/red downward slash combo. Then you can really easily diffuse internal damage and basically crush first two phases. For phase 3 full screen combo I actually prefer to jump red attack without dashing because then you will naturally fall down to Taichi Kick talisman move of Eigong if she goes for it. I think it taken only 3 detonations (and 5 arrows) to kill her in third phase, so it felt pretty efficient.
water flow carries me through the first 2 phases. with it, you can talisman after the unsheathe attack, after the normal dash attack, and after the two hit combo with the slow windup (though its very hard to know what side she is attacking from afterwards, so i don't go for it.)
This boss is brutal. You’ll die ALLOT. At first it’ll seem like straight bullshit, and in some cases it is. The difficulty spike is through the roof. But once you get the hang of it, even if you’re still dying to her, the fight will become fun, and you’ll start trying to perfect each phase. If you didn’t master this game up to this boss, you will after. Dont go into this boss thinking you’re just going to win. Go into this boss with the mind set that you’re going to lose allot. Especially if you want the good ending. Go into it with the mindset that you’re not trying to master the whole fight, go into it with the mindset that you’re trying to master each phase. I promise you, it will click. I haven’t beaten her yet BTW. Normally I rage at bosses that take me this long to fight but this boss is a genuinely fun fight. Sure, it does feel like bullshit sometimes, but once you start getting through phases without a single hit, that in of itself will feel like an accomplishment. Stick with it, you can do it.
Exactly what happened to me! I was devastated after my first 10 tries in phase 1 that made me put down the game for two days. Then I went back mastered the 1st phase and mastered the 2nd phase after countless deaths. Losing became fun because I always get to phase 3 without dying, then after soooo many trials and errors I finally got her I was pointing my middle finger at my computer screen after i beat her with 2 remaining heath herbs.
That’s pretty unfortunate. Not really much you can do that I know of 😬. None of the jades are technically necessary, they just make the fight go faster and add consistency so it will probably just take you a bit longer to beat. Once you do manage to beat it though, if you reload the save file it will take you to right before the point of no return so you’ll be able to finish collecting things or do another ending. I wish you good luck on your attempts.
In you save files (appdata/locallow/redcandlegame/nine sols/ there will be a saveslot0 and one labeled before point of no return, you can rename it to saveslot0 and override it and you'll be set to before the point of no return
Cool video! Really appreciate you laying out some of the ordering of when she does things. I've logged 37 hours of playtime on my save so far, and it was 26 when I got to this fight 😭. Two things I can't get my head around: 1) With her triple attacks, both the standard one where she dashes and there are 3 strikes, and the phase 3 one: do you need to be facing in certain directions? I can parry the standard one, I have some weird muscle memory going on where I alternate where I'm facing, but not sure how necessary that is. For the phase 3 one I just can't figure it out, it seems very random whether I parry successfully or not (might just be me sucking at timing :P) 2) From phase 1 she has the attack where she teleports above you with a crimson attack, you talk about it at 0:37. I can't unbound counter enough, and if I try dash, there's like a 50/50 chance whether I'm able to clear the hitbox or not. Any tips for how to dash away from it more reliably? Thanks so much! I feel like I'm _so close_...just need the last few bits to click
@@arihunta As long as your in the air direction doesn’t matter for parrying. For the teleporting crimson attack make sure you dash into the attack (behind eigong) then hold the opposite direction to parry the three follow up hits. Hope this helps.
@@cuarentas4052 Thanks so much for the quick reply! Great to know direction doesn’t matter, that’ll actually simplify things a lot 😅. Let me give the dash thing a go…at this point I’m almost ready to drop the difficulty just to finish the game. 🙈
The attack where she teleports above you, if you are too close and can’t run away, you can sit right under her and have her start to go down in one direction then dash behind her. It’s ideal to block them, but as long as you get your UCs off on the big ball attack you should be fine
I'm amazed no one ever use charged attack vs Eigong, it is super effective and deals much more damage compared to perfect parry. And you can perfect parry on top of that. Also, why do you always taichi kick the talsiman attack? Just evade and charge attack, it give you more damage and less risk. On 2nd and 3rd form it even guarantee that she will not use the bomb she will always use 2 hit one upward, one downward and then a red attack.
One of the great parts about this game is that there are multiple ways to beat bosses. I am not the best at utilizing charge slashes so i went for more of a unbounded counter approach.
5:45 How do you know to Unbound Counter after this kick? If it's not a red attack from the air, you'll probably get hit with a different attack as you have to commit to the Unbound Counter? Hope that question makes sense lol
I start to charge it if I see her teleport and if she teleports away which is usually pretty rare I try to let go before I hit the ground because the animation doesn’t lock you until your on the ground but the counter can charge in the air.
