This guy mark hutchinson is my great teacher when i started my first overhead cast , actually my whole city anglers nowaday doing this type of cast after my administration for this strong enough and safest cast of them all . Mark billion thnx from dhofar ( southern region of oman ) the land of GT. Wish one day u pay us a visit n be my guess . Words can't pay this great man his true cast lessons .
And what are you going to do when you go to fishing venue that doesn't let you fish with less than 0.30 or 0.35 line diametre? :)).....You then chuck the strategy down the drain :)). I mean it's all fine and right at the end.... but then, it's quite not applicable to almost all big carp venues around me :). Great video for those places where you can get away with it ...
A bit concerned about telling carp anglers to use 10 lbs line, wouldn't dream about using anything other than 15 lbs unless you were a 100% certain there is no weed between you and the fish. We shouldn't be catching carp at any cost to their safety. Even if it's fairly clear between you and the spot you want to fish, if there is weed left or right the carp can still kite into it and you'd end up snapping the line. Many lakes are now no boats allowed so if a carp does weed you up it would end up with dragging line around with it, getting caught up in the weed and possibly die as a result. Please use common sense after watching this you tube clip and use the correct line for the situation you're faced with!
Jim LloydI do agree with what you are saying for the most part but do not forget that most of the braking strains stated on the packaging that line comes in is understated. 12lbs (stated on the tin) Korda subline brakes at about 16lbs as an example.
All lines are under rated you should look at the dia. Of them thats what gives a closer representation to what the line breaks at although labled 8lb on the box shimano do a line in the catana range thats labled 8lb but is .28 and it breakesat 14-16lb
great video! as a beginner i improved my cast from just 25 meter to 75meters just by watching the video and about 20mins of practice!!
