It's a little scary to think that the difference in ELO betweeen the best human in the world and the best AI in the world is about the same as a professional grandmaster and someone who played on their high school chess team and maybe hasn't played for a few years.
The difference is bigger. Because even someone who is terrible at chess could play a few lucky moves and the grandmaster might have lost focus and blunder. AI's however never blunder...
and the gap will keep widening... im sure next year a kid who just learned how the horsey moves will have more chances beating a GM than a GM beating computers... the singularity is getting closer and closer
its funny.. im a slow learner but I seem to grasp more with a monotone voice. me.. not having to sort through the typical, sometimes unintentional, emotional throw off of humans. for some reason, technical data, I absorb easier with the machine.

@Hayku dingle you can more then most people think as long as the person playing has an enormous amount of time to think , forcing draws in chess is easier then alot of people think , however when I say you can I still mean a low percentage and only able to be done by super gm s
You guys do realize this is not the real human Magnus Carlsen playing in this game? It’s a simulated player of the elo level of Magnus. But I guess this is what this channel wants, clickbait and confusion.
In 2018 alphazero won like 151 games, lost 6 games, and drawn like 60 some games AGAINST STOCKFISH this AI is absolutely terrifying its play style of “I’m gonna restrict your movement in turn for sacrificing my pawns all to set a single devastating trap” is absolutely insane, Magnus in the past has beaten stockfish but loses to alpha yeah this AI is gigabrain and is not afraid to sacrifice anything (including queen) to win
After the black movie e5-f4 at 0:49 why wasn't it considered the white move Bb5-c6 that takes the knight? Later at 1:50 Carlsen instead of taking the knight at c6 with Bb5-c6, after a7-a6, and screwing up with the black pawn structure on the right, he backpedals it to a4 then to b3, wasting time and letting black to develop its right side and take the initiative in the game.
And still, chess-robots are also just scratching the surface of the game of chess. The estimated total number of possible games is 10^140 (the so called Shannon number). Compare that to the estimated total number of atoms in the universe, which is 10^80. There is no way that any computer - now or in the future - will ever be able to fully master the game, not even close. And it is an interesting fact, that there are still many positions that even Alphazero does not understand properly, because it lacks the skill of pattern recognition. Sheer computation will not work in those cases, because of the unmanageable number of possible continuations.
False and unnecessary. From every move, game engines can create millions of possible line combinations. A normal game engine setting will use three to sixteen lines per move, which is enough to beat most players. The settings are simply set to a smaller number of combinations and depth, since it is not really necessary to explore weaker lines once the top winning moves are found. Pattern recognition is not the basis for every move made by the game engine. The purpose of those pattern databases is to reduce computation time by placing known top lines as the first lines to analyze. The AI of most game engines will also accumulate new lines of best moves and store it into its database. As a fun fact, the AI in most top game engines are programmed to use a random seed so it won't always use the same top-line move at game time and from there still win the game.
The fact that a human being can play this well against a software program this advanced is incredible. Remember AI was made by humans, for humans... not humans for AI.
This is not a human, it’s not the real Magnus Carlsen guys.. The channel owner simulated an AI of the elo level of Magnus and then made it sound like the actual Magnus played against Alpha Zero. Heck, even alpha zero is not the real alpha zero as google deepmind never granted access to alphazero. It’d pathetic the level of clickbait this channel uses, just causing confusion.
The latest rumor is Google DeepMind couldn't make their Neural Net work, so they hired Hans Niemann to secretly play for them, acting as if it was a selfplay-engine playing.
Wrong, Carlson had a expedition tournament with 7 top teir chess engines back in 2020. However due to covid there was no audience and the mini tournament was called off. Magnus in fact practiced heavily with stock fish, alpha zero, Komodo, Hudini, and a few others. Unfortunately, I was looking forward to the event. But it was called off completely.
Yeah if you listen to Magnus's interviews he never actually plays against engines willingly. He doesn't enjoy playing non humans. He has played against the Magnus app many times, but that's mostly to get people to buy it. Obviously he uses engines to analyze and improve his game though. There is a video of someone using an engine against Magnus in banter blitz. The moves they played corresponded 100 percent with stockfish, but the game was still a draw. Now the game was a very simple non complex game where a lot of the moves played themsevles, but any draw against stockfish is super super impressiv.e

Nowadays it´s absolutely impossible. Look at the ELO difference, it´s over 1000 points. This is like Carlsen himself plays against an intermediate amateur. The engines are way too strong for any human being, no chance to beat them.
@@croplaya Yes, the best human players in the world can often play without real errors but every move that is slightly inaccurate sums up and the engine punishs that in the end. It looks like Magnus gave the engine here a good match and yes, I guess he did, but it´s a big difference between "giving a good match" and "beat the engine".
i think it is because the position of the bishop was good for white, also, if he take his rook he will lose his knight and magnus will still be up a piece, so alpha took the bishop instead to neutralize the game.

8:48 why not just take the knight with the queen and whoever takes king or rooq the pawn can promote on b1???
