thanks for sharing. the part that I'm confused about is, do I have to move my coins from the 24 word seed phrase (initial wallet) to the the new wallet with the same 24 word seed phrase plus 25th word seed phrase? How does that work if I have all my words memorized plus the seed phrase and I want to upload it into a new wallet - I don't ever remember a wallet asking 'what's your 25th word' ? It only allows me to upload 24 words. What am I missing. I just want to make sure I'm not messing anything up. It would be a pain if I have to move my coins to the 24 words plus 25th phrase - little nervous. I have a stax.

same question. I just want a password in case someone finds my recovery phrases. I don't want to have to use it every time I login.

@@vladbuxton3366 this guy is terrible in getting back to people. I’m unsubbing. But I figured it out. You should use set new pin with passphrase feature (not temporary). Keep in mind, when you create the new pin that’s what gives you access to your new wallet, BUT with the same 24 seed words and new passphrase. You don’t have to enter your passphrase (ever) unless you are porting to a new wallet. Also, you have to move all your crypto (as I did) to this ‘new’ wallet (same seed phrase but added pass phrase). You can keep some funds in that old wallet so it can act as a legit wallet - and hide this new wallet that has the same seed phrase but with the added security of the passphrase - so if there is a back door they can’t get your funds even though they have your 24 words because they need this passphrase! I hope this makes sense. I wanted to make sure I was doing everything right and started small and eventually moved it all (most of it) to this new wallet

All wallets should ask you for a passphrase. As soon as you create a passphrase you've created a new wallet. You'll have the 24 word wallet and the 24+passphrase (24+P) wallet.
If you have $10k and you move it from the 24 word wallet to the 24+P wallet. The 24 word wallet will be empty and the 24+P will have $10k.
If you recover the 24 word wallet onto a Trezor it will still be empty. Once you add the passphrase you will see the $10k. All major wallets support passphrases.

Can you upload your passphrase wallet created ledger into any other wallet if the ledger is damaged, such as Keystone or Trezor? Or does it have to be uploaded to another ledger using the 24 word seed phrase + passphrase? I’m assuming other wallets wouldn’t support the passphrase..

Yes! You can upload passphrase wallets to other manufacturers. Here's how Trezor uses passphrases: trezor.io/learn/a/passphrases-and-hidden-wallets
      Passphrases are part of Bitcoin

I only have XRP on a Ledger Nano S which was initialized a few years ago. So just to confirm if I want to go with a pin w/passphrase I need to create another XRP account than move all tokens from the legacy XRP account to the "new" xrp account? Appreciate your vid and response.
