Really helpful video, thank you. Just discovering Sparrow and no longer wish to use my Ledger on their nodes. Everything worked exactly as you described.
Great video! Very easy to follow and understand. Do you have a video that explains the How To's of removing funds completely off Ledger to another wallet?
@@PioneeringFreedom Thanks for responding. That's great to hear. I was able to figure out how to transfer funds when the fee's dropped super low, so that's great. Regardless, I think a video teaching those how to get funds off of Ledger will be useful. Took me a while to do so, but happy I finally made the move. I'm sure other's will be making those moves as well.
Thanks for the video. I followed along and everything goes fine and seems to imply the wallet but no utxos or anything at all populates into Soarrow? I noticed that at the very bottom right corner of your screen you have that yellow button toggles on. Mine doesn’t allow me to turn it on. Do you know what my issue might be? Thanks for your help
Yes, if the button is grey, click it. It will automatically connect to the secure public server. This button must be “on” yellow=public electrum server, blue = if your connected to Your own Bitcoin Core node green= connected to your own private electrum node
I have a nano s ledger that is no longer supported, is it advisable to use it in a new account to sign transactions on sparrow or electrum? Or would it be better to buy a new wallet? I haven't seen any video on what to do with the wallet since it is no longer supported on ledger live.
I think the fact that the Ledger Nano S is not supported by Ledger Live speaks volumes… Forget about Ledger Live, For Bitcoin Only, import the wallet (Nano S) into Sparrow. U don’t need to touch Ledger Live. Remember all you actually need is your seed. This is your key, You can import your BTC seed phase into any Bitcoin wallet.
@@PioneeringFreedom Is it worth using the ledger together with sparrow or Electrum to review transactions? For example, create a singleseed and link it to this wallet to allow transactions. Does it increase security or not? Another question, is Sparrow less secure because it is always online? It seems like electrum + tails is safer
@matheuso10 well the whole video is about how & why you should consider moving away from Ledger, mainly due to the fact that Ledger Live is a closed source platform. Plus the fact that Ledger transacts with shitcoins, vastly opening the attack vector. You can verify the integrity of Sparrow Wallet (see my tutorial in playlist) If U use Sparrow with Ledger, U are at least removing the interface with Ledger Live.
@@PioneeringFreedomThe only problem that could happen in my case is that I still have the seedphrase linked to the wallet (nano s) if it had been reset I would have to do the part of entering the words via ledger live, I don't know if in your case it is the nano x that would need to be done also. but since the wallet is there I'll download the sparrow
@@PioneeringFreedom"Can initialize/operate entirely with 3rd party tools No." I confirmed, it doesn't work. It is only possible to migrate directly to sparrow if the seed is already on the device, it is not possible to carry out the process there.
