Doing carnivore / ketovore for over 9 months now. All my health issues I've had for decades went away as a result -- gut issues, ibs symptoms, sinus issues, allergies to cats & dogs, watery/dry eyes, post nasal drip, and more. I can also donate blood again. Absolutely incredible. I had no idea food affected me so much. I commented this before on another video but I figure it's worth sharing again! Thanks for your great work & research!

I've had the same issues corrected and even a few others. I was really surprised my life long airborne allergies ate gone. I've gone through the weekly shot treatments for years twice with little help. Donating blood would put me down for days after so I stopped donating. Now I'll have to give it a try again to see if I can. Ty

Carb cravings might indicate a need to improve the strength/function of the stomach or gallbladder. Stomach is easy; you take betaine HCL (preferably without enzymes so you can take more) with meals for awhile. If it's the gallbladder, you gotta study up for that; it's more complicated. Carb cravings could also indicate that you are not in ketosis and need more fat; but that also could be due to the gallbladder not digesting fat well.

Same here, people have problems understanding that many of us are not doing it because of a trend or a caprice, we suffered from DECADES of disease, meds, treatments and surgeries that mutilated our bodies. And all of that was avoidable with a carnivore or at least a keto diet variation (in my case i can´t eat many of the keto accepted carbs).
And yes, i also tried and did for years vegan and vegetarian diets in the most perfect ways only for my downfall to get worse and worse..

this is such a strange comment......; veganism is not a diet, but an ethical stance against the exploitation and commodification of animals (animals are not objects, they are individual sentient beings with the same desire for life and bodily autonomy as humans; they are not things to be used and abused). if you eat plants for health benefits that doesn't make you a vegan, because you are doing it for health reasons, not for ethical reasons. you can be healthy as a vegan or unhealthy (coca cola and oreos are both vegan). but to make it sound like veganism got you sick is such an unfair and questionable statement, because we don't know what you ate.
it is no accident that the largest organization of food and nutrition professionals (ada) states that you can be healthy on a balanced plant based diet at any stage in your life, but there is zero evidence (anecdotal claims are not evidence) that a carnivore diet proves to be healthy in the long term.
i've been vegan - for the animals - for 18 years and as healthy as anyone could wish for.......it's absurd, if you can get all the necessary nutrients from plants, to then go and breed, exploit and abuse other animals and cause suffering and death to these beautiful innocent sentient beings. there are so many professionell nutritionists that specialize in plant based diets that can help you to get everything you need in order to be healthy.

I recently came accross the statement: Mamals are fat burners!
And I was like: Really? Then why does everyone say that carbs are the preferred fuel source for the body?
After some research I found out that the body prioritizes glucose not because it prefers it, but because it must clear excess glucose quickly to avoid toxicity. It’s a survival mechanism, not a sign of metabolic preference.
Fat is the default and most stable fuel. The body only shifts to glucose burning when necessary-like after carb consumption or during high-intensity activity-because uncontrolled high blood sugar is dangerous.
The body burns glucose first TO AVOID TOXICITY! It is a SURVIVAL MECHANISM!
Glucose can be toxic and storage capacity is limited to about 400 grams. Fat is not toxic and storage capacity is practically unlimited.
All this you can find in the medical literature. But nutritional literature wants to make you believe that the opposite is true.

    • @Found-it-there

Then I started eating one slice of bread a day and fixed the issue. BUT….. it isn’t bread made from store bought flour or even store bought bread. I bought my own wheatberries, ground it into flour and made bread fresh from the wheat. The flour is different. It is not bleached and is fresh, not rancid. It also has all the nutrients and fiber in it (like how our grandparents or great grandparents used to eat). Within 2 days, I had regular morning BMs that were “perfect”. SORRY…… TMI but after 7 years of suffering, I share this information with people in case it could help them. Carnivore diet broke my sugar addiction, and binge eating habits. Ive been a sugar addict since i was a little girl, I ate lots of fast food during my college years and early 20s. Pandemic made me gain 12kg and a wosw than ever eating habit. I discovered keto on 2023, tried it, yoyo-d, lost weight, but cravings for dessert was still there due to keto desserts. Fell off the wagon at the end of 2023, and got frustrated, and found carnivore.. i thought the diet would suit me to help with my carb addiction. Feb 2024 i started carnivore cold turkey, and stuck strict for months, lost all the weight, got amazing energy, eczema controlled, sugar cravings gone. Diet got ruined at family vacay around july, and fell off again. Decided to get back up around the end off november, and stuck with it since. Never going back. I just turned 31. I was introduced to the Carnivore diet late 2023 early 2024 when i saw my brother embark on that journey and lose over 100 pounds (he's lost 120 on carnivore and is now bulking trying to gain weight in the gym LOL). On march 27th, 2024 i began my journey with the carnivore diet. The results are just unbelievable. Literally unbelievable. I started out at 288 (though a few months prior i was 294-296, so pushing 300 pounds. Ill note that during this journey ive only exercised maybe a total of 3 months, so majority of weight loss has been my diet change and fasting as well. The other day on my 10 month anniversary, i scaled at 198. Writing this i am still in awe. I have not been below 200 pounds in 15+ years - since i was a freshman in highschool. This has been a life changer. Carnivore has saved my life. Ive completely changed my relationship with food and have listened to some of the 🐐's such as Berry, Chaffee, Saladino, Baker.. and more recently Nick here. Learning everything that i have (things that go against what i have previously learned) and applying it to my everyday life has caused a complete 360° turn around in my life. Another point that could explain the lower vitamin C needs during a carnivorous diet is the fact that since we eat a lot of collagen and therefore hydroxyproline and hydroxylysine we have less need to use vitamin C to produce the hydroxylated forms of these amino acids. Let us remember that scurvy results from the difficulty in producing collagen because of the lack of vitamin C which is a cofactor in the production of the hydroxylated forms of these amino acids.

How do you come to the conclusion that carnivore is the best way to not have metabolic health problems in older age. The science actually has good evidence for whole food plant based or plant dominant diets, good weight management and physical activity to be a good way of getting there. And as you say you do not have any problem that would require carnivore as an intervention to manage it. My personal bias is that the people who don't have to rely on animal sources should feel in some way obliged to eat plant based or at least plant dominant for ethical and environmental reasons. Why would you choose an extremely restrictive, ethically questionable diet if you don't need to.

I've tried, keto (and multiple variations), IF, vertical diet, moderate carb whole food based, paleo, iifym, etc. This is by far the best I've felt and it has cleared all health issues and also pains from college soccer and my scoliosis. One of the best things to come from it is not ingesting any fiber which gives me perfect bowel movements and no pain. I also don't go number 2 about 3-5 times a day like I used to. My mother went on this diet and got her yearly blood test. After 8 months strict her blood test results were basically perfect. She's lost 40lbs. All health issues cleared up. Her triglycerides were some of the lowest the doctor has seen. Compared to here past several yearly blood tests she looks like a new human, even though she was considered fairly healthy prior from her blood tests.

Position of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics: Vegetarian Diets - It is the position of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that appropriately planned vegetarian, including vegan, diets are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits for the prevention and treatment of certain diseases. These diets are appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, adolescence, older adulthood, and for athletes. Plant-based diets are more environmentally sustainable than diets rich in animal products because they use fewer natural resources and are associated with much less environmental damage. Vegetarians and vegans are at reduced risk of certain health conditions, including ischemic heart disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, certain types of cancer, and obesity. Low intake of saturated fat and high intakes of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, soy products, nuts, and seeds (all rich in fiber and phytochemicals) are characteristics of vegetarian and vegan diets that produce lower total and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels and better serum glucose control. These factors contribute to the reduction of chronic disease.

I lost 88 pounds., got my blood pressure under control. Got my irritable, bowel syndrome under control., and I have a lot more energy. However, I do have very high LDL and I haven’t made my mind up on how big a deal this is.. also my fasting blood sugar is low and so is my insulin, I have them measured. I still occasionally., maybe once every three weeks have one bowel movement that is explosive diarrhea. Can’t find a pattern what causes it. But before I went keto, it was basically every day so you can see how improved my health is…Oh, my sleep has improved and before I went keto and lost weight I was starting to get some tingling in my hands and legs, and that has went away.
It’s hard to say if it’s all keto or it’s my weight loss or my exercise routine because I do exercise now I didn’t originally .

Been mostly on carnivore diet since May 2024, dropped 30kg in 4+ months (combining with IF/ADF) and been keeping it off ever since. Pain in my back and knee gone - regular headaches gone, "pot belly" gone. Sugar cravings, which was horrible ( tub of ice-cream(often 2 in a day), full bar of chocolate in 1 sitting) completely gone. I do eat fruits and one-off veggies time to time( which is mostly pickles ) and sometimes honey. Regular in the gym, stronger than ever and feeling 5-10 years younger again ( in the bed I feel like I'm 20 again! ).
Eating mostly meat ( duck, chicken, beef, pork ) cooking only with butter, and about 30 eggs per week in various forms. Cheese, milk and diary no problem and I still do drink coffee with milk (no syrups or sugar).
Most importantly: I feel like I can continue like this without much sacrifice & even saving money eating like this.

I'm ending 8 months of carnivore today and transitioning to a more typical keto. Just ordered your book, The New Mediterranean Diet. I was diagnosed with UC pancolitis in 2012 and used prednisone then. Since then the only pharmaceutical I've used is mesalamine (which I'm okay with). I flared last May (I was eating a normal diet then) and started the carnivore diet soon after. Fecal calprotectin went from 529 ug/g -> 3160 -> 1250 -> 360 -> 145 -> 62 (on Jan 22). It took a while but I'm in remission again (and my symptoms were pretty well controlled since June despite FCP remaining high). I did escalate mesalamine dosage, but did not use steroids. I've done a number of dietary interventions from the very beginning (starting with the specific carbohydrate diet). Looking at how consistently I've seen results, i find it pretty hard to explain away as coincidence.

No denying that keto and carnivore diet is absolute medicine for some. For me personally, I have tried both carnivore and keto. I have never felt worse.. mood, strength and sleep all fell in quality. I am metabolically healthy.. normal weight, normal BP, normal blood glucose and normal cholesterol levels. Eating balanced macros is the best way for me to stay healthy and have optimal functioning all around. We're all different. Food is our best medicine, find what works for you!

    • @Noegzit
      @Noegzit 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

"I am metabolically healthy.. normal weight, normal BP, normal blood glucose and normal cholesterol levels." You could perfectly have already develop insulin resistance and still have normal blood glucose. What are your TG/HDL and your fasting insulin? If you don't know at least one of these 2 markers don't even pretend you are metabolically healthy.
And are you sure your brain is perfectly fine and will still be ok in a few years?
The more I read/watch people like Georgia Ede, Chris Palmer, Albert Danan or the Dufournet couple (Boris & Florence) the more I think our brain needs ketones to stay healthy.
If evolution made our brain prefer ketones I seriously doubt that eating "balanced macros" should be the way to go. We're all different but we also are all from the same species.

For people who transitioned to carnivore,
can you specify your previous diet if it was a proper plant based whole foods diet (not extreme like vegan), and if you saw differences from that perfect plant based diet.
Because its obviously expected that people will do better when going off poorly diversified plant based diets or diets containing processed foods.
Important to note, blue zones with the most centenarians consist in plant based whole foods at 95%, the best athlete in history Novak Djokovic is on a no gluten, no dairy, low inflammation plant based diet (with some animal products).
And a goofy millionaire Bryan Johnson is trying to reverse aging who spends millions has also concluded on a plant based diet.
So when it comes to longevity at least, and even performance, theres some serious competition for yall carnivore bros.

Pre carnivore I ate a balanced plant based, lots of home grown veg, lots of cheese- I realise now my past cheese addiction was my body craving fat and protein, meat/ chicken/ fish about twice a week. about one loaf of sourdough over the week. I started to feel awful as I added more plant protein. Didn’t connect it at the time until I shifted to more meat for a while then went back to pulses and chick peas. Lots of sore stomach and bloating. Now I eat all my meals as carnivore- mostly steak with some cream and cheese, bacon some mornings, occasionally chicken and pork. On weekends I will have cake/ ice cream. Once a month end up having pizza and wine- and really enjoy that but if I have it te nights I feel crap. Lots weight, sleep well, no menopause symptoms, 57 f.
