At 71 it's inevitable that the musician who scored my youth should leave; the only light is there legacy in music. There are so many Jeff Beck notes but these are some of his finest . Another piece of my musical youth is gone. Peace love and blessings to his family. RIP Jeff Beck, the greatest guitarist of his generation.

He also chose to come to a small town called Basel, actually an even smaller place called "Pratteln" in Switzerland, and play at the "Z7" in 2018. Only die-hard fans came there. I was one of them. Those of us who were aspiring guitar players in the 1960s can take the long view and see there were the innovators, like Hendrix and Beck, and then there were the journeymen--steady, dependable, still playing the same thing 50 years later, just a little slower. As gorgeous and exiting as Jeff Beck's playing was, it's equally amazing that he never lost his edge or his creativity. That's an old man on that stage!

There’s not a person alive or dead who can play that song and sound like that. Unique.
Notice the greatest guitarists heap the most praise on Jeff’s playing. As a lifelong guitar teacher said practice your entire life and you won’t sound like Jeff Beck. We have lost legends in these past few years. Aretha, like Beck was incomparable. And John Prines songs will live on, just like the two mentioned. Clapton said only by knowing the instrument at the highest level can you appreciate the amount of work he does with volume, Wawa pedals and right left hand coordination. Jimmie Page said Beck was on a level with everyone else mere mortals. He learned every year and changed genres multiple times. Boredom or curiosity. Who knows. Also called the guitar hero’s guitar hero. Kinda says it all.
As a side note I was listening to some music while doing something around the house. I had to stop and think”What kind of instrument is this guy playing “. Puzzled and bewildered when realized it was Jeff Beck on his Strat. I thought to myself “ what a dumb ass”.
    That was I.
Another never mentioned negative of growing old is your hero’s and favorites slowly but surely pass on. But every time I hear one of their classics it’s 1973 again, if only for a few minutes. One of the pluses of technology.

The BEST song (chosen) in the history of music played by one of the best guitar player.

Best abuser of the stratocaster ever. Thanks Jeff.

The subtleties he produces are as amazing as the loudest parts. Playing the vocal lines of Paul McCartney on a stratocaster is godlike...

Too many great versions of Jeff playing this song to pick just one, but the tribute to the Beatles at the 25th Anniversary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concerts at Madison Square Garden had a special poignancy.

Rock In Peace - Jeff, you were an inspiration to me in so many ways, I'm just a music lover, but your constant quest for creativity and new sounds with your instrument motivated me to be the best at what I do. I'm not there yet, but knowing you were always striving for excellence makes me want to do the same. Thanks so much for what you gave us all.
    God Bless.
