    10 tips
    1. Stock shot - know if you’re booming left to right one day prior : fade?
    2. Clean your clubs after every single shot. (Less spin will cause it to overshoot )
    3. Score card name date competition and number of shots allows me get two shots on a high index.
    4. Three putts, keep it in bin lid diameter
    5. Warming up- research structures on line. Don’t Hitting shots like a practice session. Remember last session . Hit max 25 balls. Stretch put mid irons wedge drivers and to the tee box.
    6. Where do you leave your bag? Place bags near next tee and them play putt.
    7. Course management - find bunkers and trees from course guide or digital device. So you can minimise wasted shots. Categorise zones green and yellow and red zones. You can’t block it out but use your stock shot.
    8. Swing thoughts. How many ? Usually five . Categories wize them into preswing phase through , (in. Christ alone ..)
    9. Alignment - many bad tips and bad swings come from bad alignment. These things affect your first shot. Imagine parallel lines. And like an alignment channel
    10. Score card after round - get the gross score correct . For stable ford or any other format , check gross total and get your marker signature and yours.

Yes my stock shoot is a classic top shot which rolls away down the fairway. Good times

Just signed up for my first amateur city tournament. No pressure. 50 years old and shoot in the 90's lol. Just don't want to come in last...my only goal.

Another really important tip: always show up 10 minutes early to the tee and have a little chat with your playing partners

I think it's vital to have your bag kitted out, be prepared with clean clubs before you even set off to the course

Thanks for the great tips 👍.My target this season is to break80 on my home course. I'm going to use this lockdown time to draw every hole/green on my course in a little note pad and make a little strategy and also make around the green where the best miss is. Hopefully I can shave the few shots off I need to break80

@@GolfAddyventures sadly not in 2020. Big work in lockdown and 2021 will be the year I do 😂👍🏌️‍♂️

any update now in 2024? I am also looking to break 80 on any course but I think I have the best shot on my home course. Also playing my first tournament at my home course this weekend. Lowest score is 81 so i’m not sure what to expect!

Always practice chipping around the green,I drop 8 balls down and chip 2 balls to 4 different holes and then try to putt them home.. Can give you a nice feel for the greens and get your touch in.

That was a very generous bin lid.

All good information guys. Some of the things, playing to my natural shot shape, 'trying' to eliminate 3 putts and shot safety into the green are things I try to stay focused on.
    Thanks.

Wow mental control didn’t even make the top 10..relax. Anxiety, sweating hands, grip pressure… prepare yourselves for pace of play….

What if your tempo is Im, An? My average swing is 0.88 from start to finish. That's unfortunately a little quicker than Nick Price in his prime.

A couple of questions - what can I say/ask my playing partners? Can I ask them to watch my ball? Can I ask them about a rule? Do I have to play the same ball type and number?

    • @tydeshaze
      @tydeshaze 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I don’t think you can ask them about a rule, and you have to keep playing the same ball until you lose it I’m pretty sure

Some players are real experts on rules and one thing you dont want to forget on every tee off shot is to keep your ball in between & behind the 2 tee markers by 6 inches roughly is what I was told the other day! l also liked what this dude said: @Hugge_Kool69_ADD

Another really important tip: always show up 10 minutes early to the tee and have a little chat with your playing partners.... but I would add : to get a feel for how they are B4 they actually hit their first shot. If they are nervous, try to make them feel a little at ease and wish them GOOD LUCK!

The only mistake perhaps is using' competition' in the title....BTW marking shot holes on your card is no good as its your playing partner (the marker) who holds your card.👍
