The one thing not mentioned in your install video. I have a 2016 Honda Civic Touring model. And I have the life time subscription to Sirius Radio. Which my stock radio pretty much stays on for music listening. Unless I have my GPS up. But I'd love to swap my stock radio for this model here. Except for the fact you didn't mention if this radio has built in Sirius or not? Without Sirius, I would not be able to sacrifice my stock radio if that's the case.
Disregard my previous question. I just followed your link to read about it and check the reviews on Amazon. And after reading about it on there, I saw where they mention this Radio "DOES NOT WORK IN THE HONDA CIVIC TOURING MODELS".
Did you have to buy a dash kit or anything cause I have a Honda Civic Ex would this work
Only issue I have on my 2019 civic LX is I've lost the dash display of the wrench that shows oil life and other things and now I have a turbo display but I have the 2.0 litre engine no turbo is this normal?
Hey man i was curious i have an LX and have 2x12 inch subwoofers in the trunk does this headunit support aftermarket subwoofers? appreciate the video very informative thanks :)
OMG thank u so much for sharing this. I saw ALOT of videos on what to do and NONE were step by step DIY. this saved me alot of money because to be honest i hate relying on someone else to do something so simple for me lol thank you thank you
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching :)
Hi guys, I bought and assembled the SYGAV version 11 myself in like 30 minutes on my Honda XL. To connect the antena to the radio, you just have to connect the actual antena wired that’s already on your car ( there is no need to add the antena… just attach it to one of the bunch of cables😅😅) . However, to have access to the USB port provided by Honda, you will have to pair two different cables( one that will be connected with the usb wired on the Honda, that then will be connected to another cable that have two ends that says USB1 and USB2, connect the cable on the usb1 and the other end will be placed on the infotainment ( to know where it goes, please read the back of the infotainment… right there it says where to add all the cables like USB I believe is section N#6).
Pros and cons of the SIGAV infotainment:
Pros:
- Better sound quality
- CarPlay, android and gps accessibility
-Capability to watch videos ( when you’re not driving 😅) with pretty good resolution
- it reacts pretty well when you touch it.
- I mean, it’s like an android tablet with radio and CarPlay -
Cons:
- there’s like 1-2 seconds delay with the music on CarPlay. I guess there is no way to resolve this problem. There are some cars with the stocked market infotainment that also have that problem. So I wouldn’t bothered with a bit of delay 😅
I would say that that’s the only problem I’ve found so far. It’s pretty expensive but it’s worth it at the same time. I would give it 9/10.
Thanks alot. My default usb works great.
Do the buttons on the steering wheel still work?
Super cool, great video too. Considering getting one for my Civic, how well does Apple CarPlay work on it? Is it laggy when using it wireless? Also, if you wanted to use CarPlay plugged in, where do you run that wire through?
Hi Joseph. Apple CarPlay works great, and not laggy at all.
If you wanted to connect through a wire, you would just connect through your USB port on the front of the car :)
I wish someone made an aftermarket head unit with volume/control knobs instead of just touch screens. Nice video though.
Completely agree! Appreciate the support :)
there's a chinese unit with a volume knob
@@nando937 Okay. Can you post the link for it? Or do you know where I can buy it?
Just installed this unit today thanks to your video! Its been 5 months, did any issues come up or is it still running smooth? Also do you know if theres any way to reduce the slight half a second lag between pressing play on a song and it actually playing? This last question may be a little nit picky but before on my old head unit I used to be able to play a song and record a video with any audio issues, however with this head unit every time I record the video will come back silent on my phone or the audio quality will be very bad! Sorry for all the questions and thank you in advance if you respond!
This is a great tutorial for novices, thanks for sharing!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the vid. I just ordered one for my 2020 Sport Hatch. Had to do a lot of digging to make sure my climate controls would work as I don’t have the base model radio.
Glad it helped!
@@RevolveAuto this radio is freaking awesome!!!!!
hey what did you end up having to do to fix your climate control?
hi, would it also be the same install for the 2018 Hatchback Sport Touring models?
Does this unit have an HDMI port in the back of it to hook up a PS4?
Been thinking of upgrading the basic head unit on my 17 civic lx. Are you still able to use the buttons on the steering wheel like you would with the original head unit?
How’s the head unit treating you? You notice any sound quality improvements over the stock radio? Picking up a 17 civic and has the base model one and this unit looks promising.
Love this head unit! Sounds quality is improved a bit and it has a full equalizer in the sound settings which is nice. Definitely recommend :)
Wonder how this one compares to the joying brand radio
quick question, i plan to do this on a 2018 civic LX, and i am wondering if the oem backup camera plugs into this unit without any extra harnesses? direct plug n play?
I just installed this unit yesterday! Thanks to your video, it was so much easier to install. Are you using the WiFi? If so, what are you connecting to?
Thank you for watching! Yes I'm using WiFi and connecting to CAR-KIT
Everyone complains my microphone is awful. I believe it’s using the small mic hole in the top left corner instead of the factory mic.
Yeah the mic isn't the best, but you can change the location with an external mic, and place it under your steering wheel.
can you access the oil service menu and TPMS for the RS model? as far as I know the base model has a separate TPMS button on the left panel of the steering wheel but in my model it doesn't have and my screen display broke
I own a 2017 Type R. Does this unit also allow you to control all the cars systems like the original. Example would be door locks, alarm settings, headlight settings, interior light settings, etc etc. Because I have yet to come across any aftermarket radio that has all the functionality of the OEM radio as far as the vehicles system setup. And trust me, I would LOVE to get an aftermarket radio thats got a bigger screen and is faster, but not at the cost of losing the ability to control the cars settings like I listed.
Hi there! I took a look and in the CAR settings on the headunit, you're able to control all of those settings :)
Thanks for the video. I'm definitely try this on my 2017 civic LX.
How has it been after a couple months?
My biggest fear is buying one of these and it malfunctioning
Also, how is it with iPhone connectivity?
I bought this head unit a few hours ago but I have some questions before install it:
1- how to connect the factory usb down below?
2- i have the same LX head unit, so If I want to use my factory camera I have to plug in the yellow camera one? Not the camera vin?
3- and saw a couple reviews on Amazon and people talk that the radio doesn’t work for them, so you put a radio adapter on the back sit or just plug and it works well for you?
Thank you in advance and great video 👍
Did you ever figure out the USB? I have a factory usb port that i cant connect to the new unit.
Great video! I'm considering doing this. However, does this unit somehow integrate the USB port on a 2020 Civc LX for Android Auto connectivity?
Thanks Kenny. The Android Auto is fully wireless but you can also connect through your USB Port if you wanted to.
How and where do you connect the voice wire?
I want to get this but im not confident in installing it properly
I’d say go for it! I also thought it would be tougher to install but all the cables are labeled and laid out for a plug and play install. In another sense, just like putting LEGO’s together 👍🏼
How do I take off the right camera thing? I don't have it so it just gives me an error code but otherwise it's great
I just ordered this unit gonna install it on Sunday! Excited as hell lmao, but is the SD card slot on the back? Or in the front, I just want to make sure I'm able to put one in before I install it, also one last question, will I lose power to my existing 12 Amp charger down below and the USB slot?
Awesome! Not sure where the SD Slot is, but should be in the back somewhere. And USB slot still works for me :)
How is that little blue wire hooked up to the canbus
is this a wireless connectivity with android auto and apple car play? or is there a USB port you need to plug the phone into to get that feature?
Will you have access to the the default car setting which includes the driving sensors, lighting systems and lock systems etc.i can only see the settings fir the system but not the car settings. I want to know plss
Will this work on a Honda civic 2020 sport? Is this a factory deck or after market? If after market this will ruin the factory bluetooth will it not?
Hi, why are there so many brands that look exactly the same? Are they just the same product with different names?
That’s what I thought but they all have different Operating Systems, so some are really slow. The SYGAV one I made this video on was the fastest of the like three different ones I’ve tried
@@RevolveAuto what do you think about the Hizpo brand one ?
Hey! Does Apple Car Play automatically load up when you turn the vehicle on, or do you have to click it to load every time? Also, how fast does the system take to load? Thanks :)
Yes, it does if you have wifi and Bluetooth enabled on your phone. It probably takes like 15 seconds.
So you don’t need to have the phone plugged in through the usb or does it connect through Bluetooth the run the appleplay
@@mylifeaskyle9668 correct, you just need to connect thru Bluetooth, all wireless connection
My radio stations only play static i have the 2020 honda civic sport did you have an issue with the radio stations not playing no reception just static or have you heard any solutions for that issue.
How has it held up?
Jesus loves you all so much :)You are worth everything in the world, God bless you all !!
Amen
Do you have any recommendations since installing?
Not really! It's pretty straight forward, all the cables are labeled and it's all just plug and play :)
Sir if we have already camera installed in orginal radio then how to connect it with android screen?
It will automatically connect once you plug in all the cables in the back👍🏼
@@RevolveAuto i plugged everything and my rear view camera and steering wheel controls don’t work. 2018 honda civic sedan owner.
This looks easy, but... on an ex model i have a few cables that I cannot figure out where they plug into. I know this isn't a support forum, just thought I'd inform anyone with a 2016 ex.
ultimately I think I'm going to need to take it to a professional audio shop. It's not as plug n play on the ex model as it seems. It's actually a little intimidating.
I just bought one and I have a 2018 ex. How much more cables are not plug and play. Did all all of the grey long connectors plug in properly?
I also think it supports up to the touring so there's going to be some wires you don't use. I also will take it to a shop as I have to run the pre amp rca cables to my amp in the back. Otherwise I could've give it a go but if you're saying it's not easy maybe having a professional taking a look will help. To be clear it might be that the cables that don't plug and play is what you don't need.
Can I download Netflix or TH-cam on this?, or do I have to just mirror my phone to watch them?
Does the factory USB port still work? Or you gotta use an adapter?
It comes with a adapter. Very easy to install
Are there still the lines that turn when you turn the wheel in the back up camera ?
Yes you turn that on in the settings!
@@RevolveAuto Thanks
@@RevolveAuto are you able to make a settings video ?
Hey I installed that same head unit but the back up camera is inverted anyone else have issues or solutions
Hey bro great video. I just installed this and the fm radio signal comes in really weak. Also the radio doesn’t connect to the Wi-Fi so it won’t open TH-cam and the other apps on there. Do you know why it might be doing this?
Do you know how the hdmi output works? Got a iPhone to hdmi converter but don’t know what to install.
so for the 2021 cars that have the climate controls built in to the head unit, will they still work? and how would you control them? Also would the gage cluster still show song playing and have the ability to customize the gage cluster menus like on the stock 2021 civic headunit?
SYGAV says that all the original functions will work. So the guage cluster should still show the song playing, as well as show it on the screen :)
If you mean on the dash display then no. I now only have gas mileage tach and now a turbo icon but I don't have Turbo and I lost the maintenance display
What about Vehicle settings inside stock player? Are these settings available after you changing to aftermarket android player?
did we find out?
Still no aux plug in on these unit huh?
just to confirm it has carplay? before and after clip shows it but you didnt talk about it.
Yes sorry. It does have CarPlay and Android Auto.
@@RevolveAuto Thanks for the quick response
When using Apple Car Play, switching on right turn signal makes head unit go on standby mode and everything pauses with black screen. Why does it do that and how do we fix this issue?
Phone mirror?
have you had any problems
how do you make it look like apple carplay? like the begging of the video?
Once you connect your phone via Bluetooth, it will connect on your HeadUnit with ZLink, which opens up Apple Carplay. Does it all automatically if you have Bluetooth connected :)
I installed this exact same head unit few months ago, there’s definitely a sound quality improvement but the sound system in this car can still kinda suck. Wondering if you plan to do anything about that or if you’re just content with it, maybe installing some new speakers? I’m considering it myself but I don’t know which direction to go with it. Would love to hear your opinions.
Nice! Yes definitely better sound quality. I looked into the speakers, but ultimately would be too time-consuming of a project for me.
hey does your reverse back up can come with good guidelines?
does your reverse cam show live guidelines with steering turning?
@@10lilzoe yes this headunit has back up guide lines that adjust as you turn your wheel, very useful.
What's the difference between this and the dasaita brand?
There are quite a lot of differences here.
First off the Dasaita does not support wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto so you need to purchase a $70 cable in order to connect your phone which is annoying. SYGAV has it built-in with a wireless connection, so hassle-free.
Dasaita is a 9-inch screen, with 32 GB ROM (Read-only Memory) and a 1024x600 res screen. While the SYGAV *which is featured in this video* has 64 GB ROM so it runs double as fast, has a 10.2-inch screen, and has a 1280x720 high resolution display.
Also, a good thing to mention is that the SYGAV also has better sound quality and adjustability. SYGAV has a Digital Sounds Processor with 15 bands EQ while the Dasaita only has a 9-band graphic equalizer.
Let me know if you have any other questions! :)
My car doesn't have the yellow rca for back up camera , it does have backup camera. What to do
I’ve noticed some have a problem where when they turn the blinker on the unit goes off did you have this problem?
Sorry for the late reply David!
If your car doesn't have a LaneWatch camera( right view camera), you can follow these steps to fix that issue :
Settings/Car/factory setting(password is 126)/canbus/right view(hide)
@@RevolveAuto rear view camera and steering wheel controls don’t work at all.
Any screen protectors available for this that you have found? I want to order this head unit but am hoping to find one for it!
I would just buy a 10 inch universal screen protector, and you should be good.
Here's one I found on ebay: ebay.to/3IMe1vm
@@RevolveAuto gotcha, I was trying to search but didn’t even think to search for a universal one. Also thank you for the quick reply 👍🏽
When you order this from Amazon does It come with all the wires and harnesses
Yes comes with everything!
@@RevolveAuto thanks for the quick response. I’m on the fence of buying this. Does the Apple car play start up right away or is It the android screen? I also heard issues with the right blink turning the screen off when you use It
Is this radio compatible with the back up camera that came with the car? I tried to change the radio from my car but the place I took it to said the camera wasn’t compatible to the radio so I would have to pay extra for a whole new system and camera as well as the radio.
It is compatible! You may have plugged in the wrong cable or missed one, I would double check your connections
Bro how you you turn off the speed limit voice notifications
It only does that for mine when I have the GPS app open. So if you close it you should be good
Does it bother the ac blowing at you? I been wanting to get one but i feel it covers a bit of ac
Doesn't bother me at all, it does block a tiny bit, but not a huge deal for me.
This would work on a 2017 civic lx for sure? And is there any other videos in ur channel that talk in depth on what to use and how to install it?
Yes it’s designed to fit the base models! And I don’t have an in depth video on the cables, since they are all labeled and plug and play. It’s like building legos, only certain cables can plug into each spot.
I’ve had it for a while now and the only downside so far is the volume when you play music. When it starts up, it starts with a nice loud volume, but then feels like it lowers?.. is there anyway to fix that or would I need to look into new speakers?
That is strange.. mine hasn't done that
Can't find the antenna module for the civic lx sedans..
so I bought this for my 2021 honda civic lx and it's not powering on? any help would be appreciated.
Something must be unplugged, I would triple check your connections. It powers on automatically when you turn your car on.
If it still doesn't work, I would just get a replacement from SYGAV.
@@RevolveAuto ok ill check again thanks for the reply
Where’d you get the shifter knob?

Good one 👏🏽🔥🔥
Where did you get your steering wheel mod?
Just installed the head unit today. Apparently there’s steering wheel key code learn but when I go to learn the buttons it doesn’t show anything. Volume does work but the pick up call and hang up buttons don’t work. And the voice button is just “mute and unmute”. Any solution to this fix?
Update I fixed it on my own. But the only thing that doesn’t work still is the voice button like if I wanna press it to turn on siri on apple CarPlay
My guess is that I didn’t plug in that mic that you were talking about?
Hi Joseph! Glad you figured most of it out, and yes the last question, the Siri commands only work with the Mic plugged in, since the headunit doesn't have one built in.
I noticed that the new unit blocks more of the vents does that actually affect anything?
It blocks the airflow very slightly on the bottom, but hasn’t been an issue for me, can still feel the A/C fine 👍🏼
Do you have any problem with the right turning switch messing/freezing up the unit?
I will turn black when you have the right turn signal on if you don't have the Honda Sensing.
You can adjust it in the settings I believe Settings > Car > Factory Settings. 126 is passcode. Then head over to the CANBUS settings and there should be Right Turn Signal Option.
hi, would it also be the same install for the 2018 Hatchback Sport Touring models?
Does this unit support Sirius XM Radio?
Does this block the vent any? If so does this company make one that’s a inch or two smaller?
It barely blocks the vents. Still feel AC fine 👍🏼
Does this keep the steering wheel factory buttons working?
Yes!
@@RevolveAuto i really glad you responded to this comment cuz i was worried it would make steering wheel controls inop
I have 2017 honda civic touring with built in amplifier would this work ?
Hey thank you for the help, one question though the dash display used to have the option for oil life and mph/kmh and now it's gone do you know what the problem is with that?
Is this an issue or did you get it figured out
It says android but i have all apple products. Does that matter? Or should I get a different unit?
It’s an Android System but it has Apple CarPlay integrated so Apple products work perfectly
Can this unit be updated/upgraded to have wireless Android Auto?
It is wireless, yes!
Hey guys, will it works with Honda insight 2019 ? Because look really same
Not sure, I would contact SYGAV here: info@sygav.com
Does anyone know why the audio isn’t working on my 2016 Honda Civic Ex-T?
Hey man, any updates on how the radio is working? I’m looking to buy one, I just never heard of that brand. I’m just a bit skeptical
It works great! They've also got 5 star reviews on amazon, and free returns if anything does go wrong :)
How many watts per speaker channel?
Where did you end up placing the mic and where’d you hide the wire
Sorry didn't see this!
I ran it under the left side and stuck it under the steering wheel :)
Where’s the slot for the mic? I couldn’t find that
@@Maxjrhdz I had the same issue as you. No slot for mic definitely a little sketch. Let me know if you get an answer.
I herd you cant reset the TPMS is that true?
Hmm. not sure. Mine was the LX so its all controlled manually with the buttons on the side of the instrument cluster
It seems that the screen is blocking the ac vents.🤔
It does a tiny bit, yes
where is the factory amp located ?
does it block a portion of the air vents? by the angle it does just wanted to confirm
Yes, a very small portion on the bottom, but you can still feel the air just fine :)
Does this for 2019 civic si?
I have a question that hasn't really been answered, or at least I haven't found an answer to.
I have a 2021 Civic LX, and am definitely looking for one of these HUs to upgrade to. However the 2021 Civic has a factory microphone for voice commands and hands-free calls, but I don't see anywhere if I would lose that functionality by using one of these third-party HUs. I see some of them include a free microphone you can wire up to them, but I'd much rather use the factory one as its already wired neatly and built into the design of the interior of the vehicle. Is there a way to wire up that factory mic into these HUs, or will I have to use the included mic from the HU?
Thanks for taking your time to do this video as well, as I will certainly use it if I end up purchasing one of these head units.
Sorry for the late reply, I'm not sure I really have an answer for you. This one includes a separate microphone, so not sure if you'd be able to reuse the factory one, but I'm sure there is a way. I would email SYGAV directly about this question and they'd be more helpful on this subject: *info@**sygav.com*
Thanks for the support!
