The reason why she wouldn't let you use the bathroom is because she knew that she was doing what she was doing to your scalp and that she was wrong for it; she didn't want you to see it at all because she knew that if you saw it, you were going to be upset and take proper precautions before leaving.

Oh shit, I saw this on twitter! I didn’t know it was you. This stylist does not need to be doing ANYONE’S hair. Regardless of how someone’s scalp is, bleeding should not occur if you’re a professional stylist. Anyone who gets their hair braided knows that bleeding isn’t normal, so placing the blame on you is just crazy.

I am a braider here in the Dallas area, I've been braiding over 13 years, I myself have used that same komb COUNTLESS of times and have literally NEVER EVER NOT ONCE stabbed a client with them. If you had no prior scalp issues like dandruff ect then that was definitely done intentionally. If a client has scalp issues I ALWAYS voice them as we go, show them, take care of it and keep moving. She KNEW she was stabbing you which is why she said 'oh im sorry I stabbed you?'🤦🏾‍♀️...She did that on bs purpose for whatever reason which is disgusting smh Even if she had a issue with you she should've stil kept it professional and not try to harm you in any way. Just the other day i saw a whole tiktok page of a woman doing childrens hair and the kids were literally screaming one was tryna run and the lady clearly didn't know how to detangle properly, but people in the comments were acting like the children weren't justified in screaming in pain because it's "tradition" saying she should charge more for children 🤦🏽‍♂️ . I think hairstylists shouldnt be allowed to do hair without being certified and properly educated, even when they are certified they’re still bad, alot of hairstylists are good at the hairstyle and getting the finished look but not good at actually giving the natural hair what it needs, you cant be good at one half of the job and really bad at the other part that truly matters

Asia I 1000% believe you ! I had a stylist who did faux locs for me. They were done so tight that I couldn’t sleep for days and I even tried using hot water when I showered to loosen them up. I had scabs and sore spots. To make matters worse when I took them down my hair was falling out in clumps. Damaged beyond repair my curls were gone it would just mat up. I cried so much an wound up having to do a big chop and cut it all off mind you my hair was to the middle of my back. Some of these “stylists” just don’t care. 😪😪😪

I think some people do it on purpose! It happened to me and they would not loosen it. I think that some times they are jealous

This is simple! Hairstylists are state registered therefore you can do two complaints one directly to the licensing dept. and the state attorney general's office consumer affairs online and upload pictures of receipts, and the injuries along with a letter to her. Be sure to place cc: in the complaint so she knows of the other two contacts! You will get your money back fast.

Use your phone and record video, with and without the flashlight on. Never ask if you can get a refund, just say “I need a refund for *insert reason and pictures*

I am so sorry this happened to you. I was minding my own business and I got a notification. There's no accountability and it speaks volumes about your character for not publicly releasing her name. This is why most of us have begun doing our own hair. The trust isn't there.

  • @katc.8619

Whew! That's my biggest fear. That's why I don't let noone do my hair. I do my own hair. If I don't know how to do something, I learn. I had a stylist back in 2010 and she cut all my hair off talking about it was damaged. She lied. Now, the style she did was really cute and my hair grew back super fast anyway, but it was the fact she told me something that wasn't true and that made me no trust her ever again. however, your situation is actually traumatic and I'm sorry you went through that. I hope you never happen to ever go through anything like that again ❤️ you have a lot of self control cause I swear that's an a. Whooping she personally ordered. And then she had the audacity to be rude and have no professionalism nor empathy.

Dang these black stylists are on another level! I can't believe all the ish they pull on you poor girls! It's really just totally unreal to me! I've been a stylist for over 10 years, and spent the day watching black girls do hairstylist storytimes and it's just one bad story after another. This one takes the cake though! I'm so so sorry I really don't understand how this happened and how the stylist let you leave her chair like that. Unbelievable.

Asia, I’m glad you’re okay and I believe you. I’ve had a few experiences with scalp pain/ trauma due to inconsiderate hairstylists. I barely get my hair done by other people now anyway..I do it myself. It’s not a lot of hairstylist that know how to care for natural 4c hair either as to why I don’t bother.

Cause I seen comments too!! It looked like she was trying to get “clean parts” but pressed way too hard. And some pressure and pinching is not unusual when you are getting parted and braided down 🥴we do have to support black businesses but at the same time black businesses need to support the black customers. ❤

  • @Queentytrece

I’m glad I decided to start braiding my own hair. It might not be the best of work yet, but I can’t deal with the over pricing & haters in my head. She had no reason to do that to your head wicked.
Last year I had finally decided to go see a stylist cause I wanted my ends cut cause it’s been years (I’m also natural) & I wanted a blow out to see my hair progress. Mannnnn when I left that store I looked crazy. 🤦🏾‍♀️ i didn’t complain because I was in her chair forever, I was 6 months pregnant & was ready to go tf home. I knew I should’ve just stayed to myself & I just kept doing what I’ve been doing after that. I straighten my own hair & it looks 10xs better than what she did. 😅

her saying "ma'am I asked you if I was stabbing your scalp and you said no" is so stupid because the itch knew she was stabbing your scalp like she's the one with the rat tail comb in her hand stabbing her customer's scalp. She didn't need to ask her customer if she was stabbing them because she can see the blood pouring out of your scalp. And this wasn't just redness from irritation. Your scalp was literally bleeding!! like she definitely fucking knew she was stabbing your scalp.
