He most definitely could have did a way better job explaining without projecting his voice & catching an attitude .

That was a red flag for me because I don’t care what I’m doing, if my mom calls me I’m going to answer and talk to her instead of telling her I’ll call her back and if the man can’t understand that then that tells me how he treats his mom! If a man doesn’t treat his mom right I can’t date him because my mom comes before any man
When he started praying for you that was the red flag. He doesn’t even go here! “I have eyes all over the city. Asia, do you understand? I have eyeessss.” That made me CACKLE 😂
Keep in mind there are a couple of arab countries. North African countries are full of hustlers and players, in one 😂. Gulf Arabs are full of money but specific traditions and the war country Arabs are a mixture of all but hold a lot of internal trauma (as does most people from colonized countries). And then there are the Indians who lived in Dubai and claim to be Arab to American girls to play and use them 😅

Whew you got a crash course in Arab men; at least he showed his monster early because some of them leave that mask on until they got you where they want you.
I really want to see the dress 😩 And sorry if my mom calls I’m answering it idc where I am so I totally disagree with rest of the people in the comments who feel he was right….
Oh sweetie you dodge a bullet. The reprimanding was uncalled for & the start of someone trying to dim your spirit. For a 1st date, he has no expectation of prioritization. Family 1st & if my mother, father, brother or sister call they will always be my priority, especially over a 1st date full stop. You were not confused, your gut screamed out walk away and you did. Good for you!
Yummy ain’t even a UK slang as a person from the UK and the black women from TikTok is right about Middle Eastern men not dating outside their race and having very opinionated families.
The lies! I live in a Middle Eastern country as a American and my entire community is full of Muslim men married to "foreigner" women. Thousands... some married as long as 34 yrs. Not as unusual as it used to be. Younger guys are seeing that old way does not work, ending in high divorce rates within the Muslim community bc they were required to marry their cousins.
It is rude to take a call when you’re at a table with someone. Cell phones shouldn’t even be on the table. Your phone should be turned off or silenced. If you need to field a call or text, excuse yourself from the table and go to a location away from the dining area. Remember, if your phone is out, this indicates that it is more important than the person(s) you are dining with.
I am someone who cares about decency and etiquette but this is just reaching. It's not that deep. If that's the tone we're setting just on the first date then don't be surprised when you don't develop much closeness during the relationship.
I have dated arabic men twice. As soon as i saw the title of this video i knew what kind off things i could expect and i'm not surprised this happend tbh
I'm from the UK and "Pickally Dickally" had me rolling😂. Great storytime! I do think it's rude to answer your phone at the table on a date but he was way too much, he comes off controlling. Tip to anyone wanting to visit London specifically, DON'T fly into Manchester, its hundreds of miles away from London and we have 5 airports in "London".
I think it is bad etiquette however he didn’t need to make a big fuss over it. I feel like him arguing about it over dinner is bad etiquette in itself.
The men in that part of the world are exactly what you experienced; the controlling is a big part of it. Plus they dictate what you will do; how you dress, religious preference, obey your husband (you will not have an opinion or your own thoughts) Yeah I will answer my phone it's my Mama calling.
I think it was a clash of cultures more than anything. Many ME men place lots of emphasis on family/community opinion of their significant other. When going out with them, it would be best to dress feminine but modest ie: no cleavage, shoulders exposed, back out or dresses above the knee. Men are supposed to remain chaste until marriage as well. Since their “dating” is really vetting for marriage they tend to be quite forward about expectations. As far as the phone, It’s technically rude to answer your cell during a formal dinner. I think this is just a non western thing. It would have been better to excuse yourself to the ladies room and take the call or call your mom back. ME men tend to be excellent providers and will make sure you’re secure and comfortable however, some have a domineering personality, expectation that you’ll 100% fall in line with their plans and trust them. I absolutely don’t believe in any kind of abusive behavior but, them wanting you to be modest is also their form of protecting your virtue as well and they are strict about social manners. It’s really just their upbringing. ❤
'Protecting your virtue'. What does that even mean? Sounds like it's a way of saying no one should look at you in admiration except me, lol. If that is not controlling, I don't know what is.
As an Arab girl living in the UK: yummy isn’t a slang term here so I do think he meant that literally and yeah Arab/ Muslim guys usually like the woman they’re interested in to dress in a modest way
Most men havebeautiful eyebrows and eyelashes because of the testosterone...its one of the major hormones for hair growth and hence men produce it abundantly. And girl..thank you for saying CONVERSING.. i hate that unword conversating.
He's funny for sure, but answering the phone is definitely rude. It's different if you said "my mom is calling, excuse me for a sec", but to just answer was kinda crazy sis 😭 people have always said Arab men are a red flag though
@@BrightnSunny if it wasn't that big of a deal, that part of the story time wouldn't exist. Everyone in the world isn't going to have that same sentiment, so it's important to be mindful of who you are dealing with at the time.
It can come off as rude. However, he said it himself he wanted her undivided attention, so even if she excuse herself, he would've find it offensive regardless, because he only wanted her to talk to him. What's definitely rude if she had a whole conversation with her mom in the middle of her conversation with the man, but no.
I'm sorry I gotta leave one more comment. You saying about how you don't want men to see you as a catfish, you show pics at your fabulous and at your best is actually really refreshing and realistic . All my guy friends that tell me about the girls they go on dates with are nothing like their pics and I get that us women want to attract men when we be looking our cutest and most beautiful but most men don't understand that make up and sexy clothes make a real appearance change at times. You seem like a cool and fun girl.
Not me thinking he was mad at the way you talk to your mama, when it's just because you picked up the call 😂😂😂 Mister even at my funeral I will interrupt the officer to answer my mother 😂😂😂😂
I respect how you were willing to learn his culture and communicate with him! All the craziness aside I just think that’s such a beautiful quality because that’s a type of woman that ends up marrying a really great man that could be foreign or speak a different language or whatever else. I have faith that you’re gonna find a man that is meant for you just based off of how open you are and willing to just be compromising. You have such a beautiful soul and heart and I love your energy, which is why I watch you. Blessings to you.❤️🌼
I'm happy to hear that that is your "Date from Hell" experience. He's got some red flags but as someone who was in a long-term relationship with a Middle Eastern man, it mostly just sounds like a clash of cultures, especially being the free-spirited type of woman (like me). As far as "date from hell" that's light, I wish this to be everyone woman's bad date experience. It's a testament to your discernment and being able to cut off bad situations quick. Peace queen
One more comment. Sorry sweetie. I did a long distance dating with a man from Pakistan living in Belgium. He would call me in the middle of the night and he wouldn't speak. He lived with a brother or something but he had to keep me like a secret or whatever cause i am not Muslim. He would tell me that I couldn't speak mind you he had headphones on. anyways he would text while we on video call via whatsapp. And he would direct me to take my shirt off and clothes off and all this stuff. Telling me that we are married because in bis culture when a couple gets married the bride asks the man to teach her something and cause I asked how to say something in Urdu which was his language that we are married now and I have to obey him. He was so nasty to me. He would call me all kinds of mean and rude names and it was really bad. I quit him right quick but he would always find me on social media somehow even if i blocked him, he would make new accounts etc... this man was terrible and when he would video call me he would only show me half his face every time saying that I didn't deserve to see his whole face cause I'm out being a whore when i don't answer my phone at like 3 or 4 am. like damn I am sleeping. Doesn't this mf understand time zones! GOOD LORD!!
That man was married and having a fun "pen pal" relationship with you via WhatsApp. He definitely was manipulating you and thinks very little of you. Meet and date in REAL LIFE. Meet someone through school, church, hobbies, etc. Best of luck.

I wouldn't jump on a plane for a man I don't know either. He religiously love bombed you! It's sweet to send messages, but so close at the beginning that's a red flag for me. The fact that he was made that you picked up a phone call from your mother, but he thinks family is important, that would be a rap for me.
Hi , Asia ! I have just finished watching this story time , and I loved it btw ! It was very entertaining , interesting , comical , and also eye opening ! I have a few things that I would like to point out . The first thing is this: time . I did not like the fact that he was very demanding of your presence ( video calling ) & I do not like the fact that he was “ projecting “ his voice on the first ( and only ) date, given the fact that first impressions matter. He should have respected the fact that you told him that you were not going to be able to be on the phone with you 24/7 while you were going to be on vacation . I feel as though since this man was new to your life , he should’ve respected that he WILL NOT be a priority so soon . Also , I felt as if he was being condescending in his tone towards you when he decided to “ confront “ you about your trip to London, UK with blackchild diaries ( I love her & her channel as well as yours btw 💗 ) . He had no right to speak to you the way he did . Asia , I’m going to be transparent with you on this , it was rude to answer your phone on the date without saying something like “ excuse me , I have to take this call . “ It is a huge cultural difference between us as Americans & the men in the Middle East and/or Europe because we are used to different societal norms , different customs , and different traditions , so I just believe that it was a huge misunderstanding on both of you guys’ end of the situation regarding your phone call with your mom. You’re a very beautiful , young lady. You’re also very intelligent & again , I do enjoy your story times !! They’re very delightful , intriguing , and again , they’re very comical . Much love from Baton Rouge, Louisiana 💕🫶🏽
Thank you boo, I agree it was rude but I think the way he reacted made me become stubborn and not see his point of view because he came off too harsh in my opinion. In America, we are use to everyone answering their phone anywhere anytime so I projected my POV on to him. Thank you again for watching🫶🏾
@@IAMASIA & I definitely feel u had every right to do so tbh cus uht uht , his behavior was very much unacceptable with the way he talked to you though .
I love the fact you do not like to fast and impulsive when you first meet a man, especially online! I am a phone talker for as long as I can, and really not rushing for facetime or quick meetups. And, I'm tired of texting relationships as well. No need to rush, and I will find out who I'm dealing with while talking my time.
Muslim men love their own women and that's all you need to know about them should you date another. They are very religious and marry within their religion. You would have to become Muslim for one to ever even consider taking you seriously. So, for the most part, they approach women outside of their faith hoping to get an easy lay.
According to the Muslim women in the comments, they will accept Christians and Jewish women. But if you are a Christian, you should only date commited Christians.
My cousin has been married for over 25 years to a Muslim man, and she never converted. She is still Baptist. He doesn’t have a problem with it. He actually raised her son and daughter, even though they weren’t his kids and treated them as though they were his own. He looks out for her. While they were dating he tried to be controlling and she shut that down with the quickness. He thought he was gonna tell her what she could and couldn’t wear, and she told him he didn’t have a problem with it when he was pursuing her and dating. She let him know she wasn’t going to change the way she dressed for him either he accepted or he don’t and move on. She’s always had her own job and he told her her money was hers. He covers all the bills. He changed his occupation to better be able to provide for her and her kids even though she told him it wasn’t necessary. He has been in the military here in the states for most of their marriage. He’s actually about to retire out. He loves her and her kids immensely and it seems to works for them. In the beginning, I did think he was suspect, but he’s proven him self over the years. Do I think he’s the norm? No.
Your right for most part but that’s Not all completely true also. They like what they like. As someone that lived with all types of ME Men and backgrounds and date ME men. I don’t date the ones that are Muslim but their are some that are exceptions. I personally would adopt your view though if you look in google it’s flooded with horrible stories. I would have to have someone exceptional and very evolved spiritually and mentally. Hard to find but they exist
@@advocateforyourself I'm 50 years of age and married 20 years, but when I was single those Muslim men, they typically approach black women for sex and nothing more. So, no he is not the norm. They think we are very sexy, but for nothing more than getting busy. The man you are speaking of he may have been a converted Muslim or African Muslim. But the orthodox cultural Muslims??? ... No maam. They especially use black women for an easy lay 95% of the time. They can also be disgusting and approach younger black girls under the age of 14 for sex as I grew up around them and recall them offering money in exchange for sex when we would enter their businesses and stores as young girls. Janet Jackson married a wealthy Muslim man and she had to covert and dress a certain way to appease him. His family never did fully accept Janet. She was out that marriage in less than 5 years. Their families won't even tolerate a woman who isn't Muslim marrying into their families most of the time.
@@Acidreflux0000 it’s rude, but there are a lot of ppl with no manners who would probably agree with you. If a guy answers his phone “to quickly end it” on a date with me, points will be deducted. I should have his full attention.
YES. Similar to what my grandmother told us when she was young about her experience dating an Arab Muslim guy. However, she had to get her brothers (my great-uncles) to get the guy to leave her alone.
We can learn a lot from this video. When dating people from different cultures it's important to understand how that culture works. Middle Eastern people are very conservative and the men don't play around.
I agree, I’m not conservative at all but allot of conservative men approach me. Same with men that state they don’t like makeup or prefer super natural women but date the complete opposite
@@IAMASIA guys often take what they can get. We don't step outside the house, snap our fingers, and women start lining up. Lol! Only in our dreams. If there are no natural women around we'll take the one with makeup. Another thing is guys won't approach a woman if he thinks she's out of his league.

Second red flag: he was highly sexual, and we just started talking. Third, he wanted me to move to where he was. He stated; he only likes black women, and from there, I was like, something told me to run because I’m like, what? Talking about baby names and saying he gets highly jealous. Saying he knows all what he needs to know about me already, like what Something about that experience doesn’t seem right.

Help no he didn’t the audacity yeah he wasn’t looking for a girlfriend it was giving looking for a obedient wife that’s just gonna do what he say and when he say jump you say how high…🤣
Perhaps the modern hood woman narrative that is perpetuated by ones actions...ie.. social media, you tube, Facebook videos etc, OF, IG & other pre-conceived stereotypes, especially of Black women probably had a great deal to do with the situation.... ALLEGEDLY.... Lol 😊 no shade or hate...just MY 2 cents worth!!!
I agree I rather post bare face as well. If they can appreciate that then my dressed up is enhanced (I don't wear foundation though). My late husband was Muslim but he is more Americanized! He did everything, but he did not want me to work! I am a Caribbean woman; I do what TF I want! I like my own and yours!
Had an extremely similar experience. I met him in person we exchanged numbers and started texting long story short I’m not a FaceTimer and I have a child so texting and calling are limited. And basically we kept get into it about that prioritizing stuff to which I told him you have to earn being a priority in my life like chill and just vibe out but he was sooo controlling and expected to be put before my child so I could speak to him. Rediculous it didn’t even last a week and never saw him again past the first run in
It's one thing for a man to want you to prioritize him and your relationship when it comes to time. Wanting you to prioritize his values and beliefs over your own is a whole different story. It's as if he expected you to abandon your perspective and agree with his point of view alone. He seems like the kind of guy who wants a robot to control and subjugate, not a partner to love and respect.

Yummy ain’t even a UK slang as a person from the UK and the black women from TikTok is right about Middle Eastern men not dating outside their race and having very opinionated families.
I worked with a black girl who was with a Middle Eastern guy. She quit because he gave her a car, an apartment and didn't want her to work.

Sis this phrase alone triggered my ptsd 😭😭
Oh no I’m sorry 😢 I never heard it used so much until him lol
Solid advice. 💯💯
As an Arab girl living in the UK: yummy isn’t a slang term here so I do think he meant that literally and yeah Arab/ Muslim guys usually like the woman they’re interested in to dress in a modest way

I never said it was, having butterflies typically means you excited or nervous. Which for me is normal before a first date

Or to convert you.
I love your energy! Thanks for sharing, it's important for single women to hear these kinds of stories.
