They hold the record for most appearances on the Ed Sullivan show at 21. My family became good friends when they played the Vapors in our hometown of Hot Springs. One of the highlights of our friendship was when they came to our house and cooked us a Korean dinner and afterwards we all watched a re-run of one of their appearances on Ed Sullivan. Pretty cool. Sook Ja (Sue) Aja, and Mia. Sue is the only one still with us. She is a sweetheart and lives in Las Vegas with her husband.

Ok these women are amazing! Such a great performance and I want to know more about them - and wondering why I had never heard of them before! Just heard of them through an episode of Kim’s Convenience and looked them up.
The Kim Sisters performed "Joshua Fit The Battle of Jericho" on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964. Unfortunately I can't find in online anywhere but you can see it on the 2-DVD collection of Rolling Stones performances from the Ed Sullivan Show. It has all 6 Ed Sullivan episodes so you see all the other acts (e.g. The Kim Sisters) and it even includes all of the vintage TV commercials.
WOW, this is an amazing video, because they are playing a piece of "La Bamba" is a traditional Mexican song and play the "marimba" is also very traditiona in my Mexicol!!!!. they dancing so good. this is a great surprice!!
Incredible. Not seen for ALMOST FIFTY YEARS,LOL!! Is this the same Hollywood Palace show where they did "Steel Guitar Rag"?1966. To see women back in the day playing instruments was totally outrageous!! They also did that song in 1961 on The Ed Sullivan Show;however, nobody seems to have that item except Sullivan's people. I wish more of this "fair use" stuff would come out on TH-cam...otherwise,it's just gathering dust! Heard that Sue Kim wanted to do a documentary on this band .
I'm from South Korea but I didn't even know that there was such band🙊 Omg I really like old songs (mostly USSR) but wow, for me, this is much better than modern kpop
It would be not easy, i mean it would be so hard for them to do performance abroad at that time. It was like really big challenge for them, but still they made it, and behind this, they said they trained really hard, learning ballet, singing and playing instrument and of course another language as a foreign artist in another country. Even in modern society, it is still a big challenge to do own arts in another country.. so yeah they did pioneer their own way of arts in whole different country.. i really respect them and they are the real Artist. Still thinking about this and this is so crazy like they didn’t have the way to access to learn other cultures and stuff at that time but they overcame the culture difference and communicate with audience with Arts..like Arts itself..
They were great. My stepfather, Bob McMackin managed them until they realized he was ripping them off. I loved them. They were a great influence on me!
Hi Sukey, I want to know what is your thought on K-pop rising popularity in the US. Sukey, have you heard of current Korean groups like BTS? Girls Generation? Blackpink? 50 years after the Kim Sisters made it big in the US now we have BTS.
I have an autographed flyer from their appearance at The Cave in Vancouver, B.C. I assumed they were nobody special but now I can see that they had a good act. I might have even paid to see them.
What a shame that Andrew Solt productions is setting on the other tapes of this band. This video is a good case for Fair Use....The KIM SISTERS were a unique entity at the time. Nobody had ever seen a good all-female pop BAND (PLAYING INSTRUMENTS). I hope Sue Kim is successful in getting a documentary made. It's a small but important part of music history.
Yes, before BTS, before Blackpink. Before ITZY, before Twice. Before Girls Generation/SNSD, before 2NE1, before Wonder Girls, and before PSY. The Kim Sisters were the original K-pop sensation!!! I've been wanting one of the 2 members of the Kim Sister to make an appearance at KCON as guest of honor because they were important in K-pop history.

you gotta be kidding me
No ,they are the original K-pop group. Maybe you should study up, EXO are just rookies, that became popular because there from SM
Elizabeth Maldonado just because they're koreans, it doesnt mean that they're an idol kpop group -.-
Because of them Korean music got popular time by time
Alison Lim well it started from somewhere the Kim sisters are a trio group
