Welcome to your 1st year of Internal Medicine Residency! We are sure you have worked very hard to be where you are, however your biggest challenge is yet to come! We want to give you a head-start and help you shine by teaching you how to properly manage the 20 most common cases that you will encounter as a first year INTERN!
About the USMLE CHANNEL - We are Niya and Raj, and we are here to share with you our passion for medicine!
We have successfully passed all USMLE STEPs and we know what YOU NEED to know, in order to SCORE phenomenally HIGH and enjoy RESIDENCY in the UNITED STATES.

Very good question. The clinical symptoms can always guide you regarding dx before labs. But know that if pt is hypotensive you can always give them bolus of NS first anf then switch to LR once you have confirmed pancreatitis.

Just curious... in every scenario a senior resident always calls us over when we're about to finish our shift... Do we get paid for overtime?? or we're but a cheap labour lol😄
Can we give RL in liver disease? As alcoholic liver disease is the most common cause and lactate is convertted to bicarb in liver?
i have not undertood what is the indication of INR in this case?
