I have the first one, its great and dirt cheap. It seems for a hundreds dollars extra you only get a little more. Ive 3D printed a new stand that is much more stable using a helical gear on a shaft, its about 200mm above circuit boards now, i also moved leds from center to remove glare. Its not easy but i can solder components down to about 1 mm. eg the tiny caps around eeproms. Am looking at building my own now with a better cmos sensor from scrapped digital cams, and will need to figure out what "achromatic doublet lenses" are, recommended by chatgpt.
The first one is passable for sure, but the higher resolution and improved lighting on the last one was far superior, and the screen kind of grew on me, it's nice to not always have to plug into a computer to use it. Like most things, it all comes down to the individual needs and means.
Ah thanks for this, I had seen those absurdly cheap microscopes and wondered if they were any use for soldering. The last one definitely looks promising, I assume the base plate could be removed and the... pole? could be attached directly to a desk maybe?, base plate seems annoying for larger boards.
For sure you can do whatever custom mounting solution you're willing to put the time into. I made a more recent review on another scope I like even better if you want to check that out. Thanks for watching!
For electronic rework/soldering, you only need 10x-40x magnification... are there any USB based microscopes, true 4k/optical-zoom that you'd recommend? For example, one that can output video 1) wirelessly to a android/monitor receiver (Miracast/Wireless-HDMI) 2) Wired USB to latptop/tablet device 3) Wired HDMI Dual-lens for seeing depth.. and a large Field-of-View would also be nice. Unfortunately, the ones I've seen are very expensive, presumably because they have way too much zoom (130x-180x lens), or come with their own 10" display, or gimic features like remote-control, etc.
I am having a good experience with my latest scope that I reviewed in this video: th-cam.com/video/TYR3DtV6zl8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=nYByFaapHfioew4G It meets your #2 & #3, but not sure about #1. Anything stereo (dual lens) is going to be a high price tag and even higher if it also has a video output. There are just a lot more parts/optics involved in something you can look through compared to a digital sensor, and with stereo, the part count basically doubles and that's what's driving the cost more so than high zoom options. Further, when it's displaying to a monitor you're not going to get depth in that image regardless of whether the scope itself is mono or stereo. Hope you can find a good option and if you do let me know how it goes!
Yeah, there doesn't seem to be a good middle ground when it comes to scopes. It's either very cheap or very expensive. Not having auto focus is annoying as well since you have to readjust the lens everytime you move the object.
With Amazon the item is reliably delivered and you can get your money back easily if there's a problem (or even if you just don't want it anymore). You cannot count on AliExpress for either of these things. So pick your poison. Thanks for watching!
Actually you can count on AliExpress probably even more than Amazon, from my experience they always take your side, and give you money back issue free, the only downside is 2-3 weeks delivery if they don't have it in your local warehouse. People just have weird mindset of assuming "Chinese = bad", then continue to use their overpriced phone made in China 🤭, in China you literally get what you paid for, so there's a ton of bad quality as well as excellent quality all depends on how much you're willing to pay. Buying it on Amazon etc. typically means a price multiplayer with really no benefit and it's harder to get help from Amazon if it means they would loose money lol.
Hey, I saw your 3ds video from a month ago where you tried to fix why it turned off with a pop. I was wondering if you could fix 3 of my Nintendo 3DS somehow or redirect me to a place, company or other person who can.
I can't tell if you're shocked because it's so cheap or think it's too expensive? If you look into how much a good industrial microscope costs the $90 scope is an amazing price for what it does.
IT IS CALLED SOLDERING WITH AN 'L'. Is America's army full of sodiers? No. Please for the love of God stop taking English words and simply corrupting them. Also while I'm here the chemical element 'Al' is called Aluminium ...... 'alumina' is an ore and 'aluminum' is a miss-spelling. And the temp 'I could care less' means I care somewhat....the real expression is 'I couldn't care less' - because I don't care. (Sorry, but 'sodering' is why I'm not watching this video)
Nice tantrum buddy. Glad to see you are so easy to upset. Honestly, I don't know how you ever manage to leave the house. I can imagine you having a breakdown at least 5 times during a simple journey to the corner store to buy some milk. Simply because you see or hear something you deem 'not right'. For the record, I say solder too, I don't have a psychotic episode every time I here 'sawder' though. It's fine. Just don't worry about it mate. You'll also live longer.
thanks for pointing out the depth of field... I was not think on that before I will buy a microscope
Glad it was useful, cheers!

@@FantasticQuack Add external light to the first one and maybe do a video if it improved
Yo man do you have the stl files? If yes could i have them? I really dont Like the stand and would 3d Print one
Great video - personality sold me. Subbed!!
Glad to have you! Thanks for the kind words :)

Good review! Simple and to the point, made me quack!
Yo this is the kind of thing I love to hear! Thanks for the kind words
I have the 2nd one, it works ok for me, but I have better stand I don't use the suction stand
Nice, yeah all 3 of these are totally fine for the price and especially if you don't mind doing a custom stand to make them better
Nice video helped a lot
Glad to hear!
Great Video Joe
Thanks Nathan for watching!
Super cool. Thanks for sharing your findings and jus keep on it! 🙏👊🤙
Thanks for watching bud!
oh, nice, I hope I can find some videos on graphic cards repair
I hope so too

Nailed it. Manual focus isn't too bad especially with the 3rd scope, it gives the feeling like you're almost operating a really nice one :)
thanks for this, keep on it!!
Thanks, will do!
is cheap one good enough to fix like AMD AM5 pins or its not good enough
For sure it's good enough it will just not be a great experience for you
I think there is a way to make a better quality homemade one for little money, with Arduino modules...
Where do you buy the lens/sensor?

Love how he bought nothing but AliExpress products on amazon so he paid 3x the price per item 😂 1st scope is 8$ 2nd 12 and third 30$ or so

What's the work distance underneath the juisy one?
It was around 2 inches at best
2"? Is that enough space for hot air soldering SMDs?

You are using the British pronunciation and I am using the American pronunciation. The latter is not incorrect just because you don't like it.
