This reminds me of a CD boom box I bought in 1998 that stopped playing CDs because dust got into it. I FELT RIPPED OFF. Who on Earth would incorporate this technology to stop playing CDs and discs if dust got into boom boxes or PS2s or if the lens were dirty? WE DON''T NEED IT. You would think it would be quite the opposite that consoles and boom boxes were made to be more full proof and reliable and would always play discs and not have dust or a dirty lens stop them from playing.

Hey man! I have a 2ds XL Pokeball edition that had its power button go out a number of years back. I have some save files on my sd card that I have longed to get back as they have special Pokemon on them. When I plug the system in to charge I get the orange led, and everything else was functional until the power button went un-alive. Is there any chance if I shipped my system to you, I could hire you to take a look at it?

I changed battery but the orange light stays on for a bit then shuts off and it’s not fully charged so I keep doing it till it’s fully charged I wonder if this issue means it needs to be soldered

So mine, spins twice then stops and then the laser bounces twice in the pod, doesn’t move along the sliders. Currently got the drive stripped down, the cogs was locked up. So scrubbed them clean about to apply grease and praying this is it.

Apparently nobody had the same problem I had with this video :( After he fed the ribbon cables through the hinge and everything the black one for the camera was at the bottom. But the orange ribbon cable for the screen needs to be at the bottom so it can be plugged in first underneath the board. How did they suddenly change positions? I had to reassemble mine to get them in the right order. Did I miss something or am I seeing things?

Seeing your hands shaking while doing this was so painful because I, too, have shaky as hell hands. All I have to do is hold something with any small amount of pressure and it'll be shaking like mad. While I don't have a GBA (I have a GBA SP) this is something I'm tempted to do, along with the Gameboy Macro DS Lite mod and maybe trying to put a better screen on my GBA SP, and seeing you manage this with shaky hands has given me a bit of hope that I'd be able to do it.

I wanna wholeheartedly thank you and add my experience, your tutorial didn't work, but what did work it was to turn on and off while plugged, until it starts charging while turned on, then leave for a few hours until is only green. Thanks for the inspiration for it, I've never had a hardware stop charging, just batteries gone dry, this is a new low for nintendo's sloppy products, albeit eternal.

3 years down the road and I must make one comment. The pot should have read resistance regardless of the solder joints unless the pot itself was bad. My guess is the pot was dirty inside and the heat from soldering the joints freed it up.
