Had Adam for English at Rutherglen Academy, must have been around 1969 or 70 when I left after 6th year. We used to get him to give us an occasional song in the classroom. A strangely dry sort of humour he had. I heard he ran a used book shop latterly. Wonder if he’s still alive and kicking?
David Brown - Sure is. Nobody sounded like him. Iain MacIntosh is credited with singing some of his songs in various lists but Adam’s ballsy delivery is unmistakable, only ever heard him solo with no instrumentation. Iain usually strummed an acoustic guitar. His voice was (is?) melodic in comparison, but he’s vanilla compared to Adam’s in-yer-face up-yours style. He was no singer, but a determined strong deliverer of his own lyrics. Can’t recall ever hearing him laugh. His nickname was “Lurch”.
If my Intro to Shakespeare professor doesn't bring this up tomorrow in class, I'm going to because this is bloody brilliant.
LOL! Thanks. Glad I stopped by for a listen. You've given us some more music to check out, and I thank you again for all that. ;) Peace.
I have just been telling about this to a bloke who had never ever heard of it.Happy!
Genius!

He certainly did have a very good bookshop, although I have haven't been there for years. Great guy. I am very envious that you had him as a teacher.
Ian Gourlay was speaking to him last week at Celtic connections. He’s still in fine form.
Better than Willie Shakespeare's long-winded copy!
from a radio show?
I know he wrote it, is this Adam McNaughton singing too?
Aye.
