  • The Hill EC-3000 started having a problem building pressure after only 3 weeks of ownership and less than an hour of use. With the help of Stacy at Pyramyd Air and the Hill team I was able to get it working again.

Thanks for this very informative video !
I just unpacked and started using my brand new EC 3000 for the first time. Filled up my 170cc cylinder in under 40 seconds from 180 to 250 BAR in 40 seconds! very happy about that.
When filling (Toping off ) the bigger cylinder (13 cube/ft. )( 1.5) liter , at first was flawless, it'll runs until it reaches 75 then will stop and cool down till reaches 65 and then will start again.
But unfortunately after few cycles now it STOPS when reaches to 65 instead of 75 , and starts again once reaches down to 60/61 which is not acceptable. so now my window
is too small meaning it stops and runs again with in 4 or 5 degrees ONLY !!! All this happened after using it for about 30 minutes for the first time ever !
According to the manual and posts on Airgun Nation forum and youtube videos here and there it needs to operate between 65 to 75 ( within 10 degrees ) , but mine now operates within 4 or 5 degrees !! Any idea what could be causing that ! TIA

@HPK1555 That sounds like the heat sensor is bad on your unit. You should reach out to the company that you got it from and ask them to exchange it.

What makes them good is they are excellent at CS. They have rebuild kits 50 and 100 hours. The engineer there responded in minutes. (thanks Ollie) Mine came from Pyramid as a used and rebuilt model. It ran 3 hours because it was NOT rebuilt. Two valves had worn out parts, Orings were dinged and it was extremely dirty inside. -great pumps because they are so easy to work on...

Bits of metal flying around inside can not do any good, glad to hear they extended your warranty (it's the least they could do),
Hill should be getting this right , they have been doing compressed air for a long time, I hope someone (from Hill) follows up with some info as to what those bits where and to what ends they (the bits) with matter or not.
Thanks Kenneth for showing, all good info.

It is hard to believe that Hill has any problems with a new compressor. Do they do any quality testing of their products?

@Dale Keith They replaced it and no trouble with the new one. I still have it and it's still going strong.

    Hi everybody.
Today I received a hill ec 3000 COMPRESSOR and immediately after the first start at about 52 bars, air was also leaking from the overpressure valve as it is on the exhaust, I am disgusted by it and the main thing is that I ordered it from Spain from Barcelona and I am from Slovakia, come on now I'm curious how long the claim will take and if at all, and they can't even send an invoice for the purchase of the compressor hmm that will be fun.

@Rado Ujooo Sorry to hear that. Hill does stand by their products but man you ordered from another country, you maybe better off trying to contact Hill.

No problems with it but I sent it back to them after owning it a year. I have another one they sent when this one messed up and it's my only compressor so yes I would recommend this compressor.

You also have Yong Heng compressor, how would you compare it with Hill?

    • @bluecollarsportsman613
      @bluecollarsportsman613  3 ปีที่แล้ว

@Kreso Bukvic The Hill has more pluses than the Yong Heng.
      Yong Heng
      1. Fast
      2. Long cycles ( dependent on use and water mixture)
      3. More Maintenance, faster oil changes, must monitor for heat.
      4. Most parts come from China
      5. Just now gets a warranty
      6. You must pay extra for auto shutoff
      7. Fills Bigger tanks
      Hill
      1. Air cooled
      2. Auto stop and start but temp
      3. Will fill upto a 4L tank but recommended for diect gun use.
      4. Heavy
      5. In the beginning not as fast as the Yong Heng but due to it being air cooler it's cycle time is shorter so if you are filling a 3 to 4L tank it's just as fast if not fast than the Yong Heng.
      6. 4L tank is Max recommended size
      7. 1 yr warranty from a reputable dealer
      8. Very very low maintenance.
