I'm a 71-year-old woman. I watched both of Nyoki's interviews, and she made me laugh and happy because she was so full of life. I enjoyed her interviews "Tremendously". She perked me up and made me smile. She was so exciting and funny! Watching her interviews, I was happy all day! May God always bless and be with her.

It doesn't take a degree in psychology to have a desire to want to help people. I help many with tough love and a prayer. At the same time I get it, that girl is a bad apple due to her upbringing and life chooses. I as a single man with four children couldn't in my right mind add another child that's not mine into my family, especially a broken female. We're living in a different era there's no such thing as a "village" in the black community...and that "community" is more like a hood. That hood I speak of gravitates more towards drama and insanity instead of sanity and peace.

Just watched the whole video. Just as sad as the young girl. All this generational truama left unresolved. If baby girl don't slow it down, the cycle will repeat itself. I pray that she turns her life around, but man it's gonna take some work to unravel. If mom could pull it together, it might rain Nyoki in somewhat. She needs stability so don't give up on her emotionally. She's still a child and this behavior didn't happen overnight. Maybe even consider relocating elsewhere. Prayers for you both.
Mothers we have to realize that our trauma and our life decisions have a direct impact on our children and shaping their childhood memories/experiences. I grew up in similar situations with my mother and it definitely took a toll on my life. It took me becoming a mother and wanting better for my children in order for the trajectory of my life and their to change. I'm praying for Ny. It is going to be rough for a while but she can make it and be so much in life. Baby girl this is just a phase in life it doesn't have to be your whole story.

I'm from Louisiana. My mom believed me but still stayed. I'm glad I was old enough to say no and to protect myself. He made my life hell because I wouldn't sleep with him. My mom ended up putting me out. She has never apologized to this day. It has made me a better mom.

I disagree with Marcus in some respect, you can have a chemical imbalance in the brain which requires you to have meds. With that said talk therapy has to work with the meds. When they become out of control, and just parenting discipline is not working. meds has to be taken. You will get tired of her behavior Marcus because you won't be able to take it anymore, no matter how much patience you have. Trust me I know this from real life experience. Some people can not be fixed unless they want to be.

Actually that was the only thing he was right abt. The chemical imbalance thing is a lie and pseudo-science. Mental illness is a not a physical thing and if you had a chemical imbalance there would be a blood test for it. Psychotropic drugs are not "meds" and they cause a chemicals imbalance by giving your brain damage because they turn off the neurotransmitters that make your body work. If you did have a chemical imbalance that means you have some health issue or aren't eating right.

Trust me that doesn't always work. I'm a perfectionist that dedicated my life to my only child. The minute she turned 17 she decided she was grown and made every wrong decision she possible. Because I held on too hard and I was too much of a good mom. She wanted to know what the streets was like and she found out! But unfortunately, she felt college her calling. Sitting in her ass playing depressed is. There's no rule book and no guarantees. And child will grow up and choose their own way

Children that have mental issues or chemical imbalances that may express as adhd, autism cannot be cured with "strong" dads and herbs. It is a chemical imbalance and if she was stable on her meds whats wrong with it? People that have no experience with these situations should not judge the parents for trying to do what THEY feel is best for their child? The children that dont stay on their meds and become unstable, tend to look for street drugs bc they are not in balance. Josias is an example he went into the system, his mom took him out then he had unstable living situation then next thing you know he was on crack.
