Hello Freaktography. I am so impressed with this video of the hospital I worked in for over 34 years. It is so sad for me and my many coworkers to see our hospital look so abandoned and in disrepair. I wish I could have given you a better tour. Yes, Physio and the therapy pool were very large, but seemed so small when we were working there, filled to the rafters with equipment and patients. The chapel was a very moving space, used for weekly Mass, funerals, celebrations of life, memorials, I hope the stained glass windows will be saved. When you were in the basement, my office was just before the "cool" tunnels you filmed. Our linen room was one that you filmed, imagine taking full linen carts through that tunnel, with overhead pipes that could crack your skull if you were over 5'8"!!! The boiler room (original one not used since the 1970's) always had a fountain coming out of the floor during a massive rain storm!!! Your video and pictures have brought back a lot of fond memories for former hospital staff that are just seeing them for the first time. It was a vibrant, caring, productive, healing place and we all were very sad to leave i. It was our working home, where many of us 'grew up' helping those that needed us. The new hospital doesn't have the same soul. thank you so much for filming 'my workplace' and I can only hope Queen's will do something productive with it. It has been so sad to see it empty for so long. Did any of the resident ghosts say 'hi' to you??? They are there, especially it the Sister's Residence, above the chapel. Fran Cooney

This is really awesome. I am a custodian at the new providence care hospital where they moved to so I never saw the original hospital. They have renovated and reopened the back half of it. Queens university gutted and renovated the front half and have moved in.

It's so weird to have walked into this place the other day and now just seen what it looked like a few years back. The place is now funtional again and is being run by Queen's University and is still used for rehab. There's so much in this place I didn't even know existed thanks to this video.

The car was also to teach paralyzed how to drive without using your feet. And the big handle on the steering wheel is to help teach people with limited movement to drive a car. Great video!

I enjoy your videos very much. Its such a nice change from what is on television these days. One thing I find is just how sad to see these buildings left to rot when there are 1000's of homeless people these buildings could be fitted to house!!! I certainly would rather see these buildings with life in them. Especially buildings as large as that hospital. Thank you for the time and effort you put into these. Your photographs are amazing!!!

Hospitals can be creepy even when they're in use. This was a really nice one. The chapel, windows and doors were beautiful. Another use for the car, aside from the other uses already stated here, could be to help stroke patients use their hands again, like for putting on a seat belt. My husband had occupational therapy after having a stroke a few years ago. A car in our hospital would have been great for him to practice something simple like putting his seat belt on, something I always took for granted. Thanks for this explore.

The car I imagine was designed for patients that needed to rehabilitate their independence for their next chapter of life with out the use of their legs they needed to learn to drive a new form of vehicle.

Beautiful chapel!!! Too bad that the lighting, entrance doors & stained glass & cross can’t be saved😞
Hospitals are notoriously haunted due to all the deaths that are experienced there. Sad that this building couldn’t be repurposed! Thank you for sharing this epic hospital location!

The car is for practicing getting in and out of following surgery or stroke rehab. It is part of rehab therapy. Some hospitals even have mock grocery stores, ATM’s etc.

  • @freebird5548

I am amazed someone actually took the time and effort to remove the hospital furnishings and equipment for the most part. When American hospitals are abandoned it seems "everything" is left behind. Afterall, why bother removing things that could be very valuable resources that could certainly be used in poorer communities. . Who's paying the electric bill? I find it ironic that so many old abandoned places still have utilities on. However, when you live at a place and go a few days late paying they slap a 15.00 late fee or plain out disconnect you. Another unknown regarding abandoned places? We may never know the answer to. Such a shame this place is very suitable to house the homeless, yet there it is just waiting to be taken over by Mother Nature or vandals. Such a waste. Thank you so much for sharing. Great job, as usual. ✌🏼

As a fan of your work, I have to ask you the million-dollar question: out of all the houses you’ve visited, which one would you take? You have to pick one. Maybe make a video of your top ten, narrowing down your all time favorite house to live in.

Dude I would tottotally subscribe to your channel and I just might do that on the condition that you fix your microphone!!
It has to be the noisiest frigging microphone that I've ever heard!
I have asked myself the question a thousand times over, " Dose this dude have a hearing impairment or something ?"
If you do have an impairment please accept my apology, if not maybe use a headset when you do the editing.
I can't sit through any of your videos because of the crappy noise of the microphone.
I like the footage and you do a great job of it, just fix the microphone please.
I'll bet I'm not the only one who complains. Again I'm not knocking your work , just your microphone.
Thanks for taking the time to read my comment.
    Have a great day.
    Live long and prosper.
