    I have an identical focusrite interface and I love it, works for everything I need as an intermediate guitarist/amateur producer

    Great video! Only thing I'd add is, there's a fine line between buying what you need and "over spending". I personally like have more inputs than i typically use so im never shorting myself

      If you can learn guitar you can learn this stuff. I’m 30 and am not tech savvy at all and I’m going to learn it!

      @@Zburgz Yes i think I could too, not sure if I've got the energy but learned with the phone and I avoided that for years ie smart phone, Internet etc, I know thats laughable but just how it was, I thought computers were for professors, a different generation thing, hard to explain.

      @@martynspooner5822 i'm a bit late to the party, I completely understand why one would avoid internet, as for the computer part you don't need to learn everything about it, just dive into what interests you and stick to it, even tech savy guys don't know everything about computer but they won't admit it to you

      Cheers I was hoping someone would get it. Makes me feel less like a weirdo, I would hear the word computer and just assume it was for really smart people and not the likes of me. In my generation it kind of was and I just got left behind for ages.

    Recording n listening to myself is important for me to make progress, but I only used to have my phone doing the job, n never figured out how to record into my laptop. This video is absolutely useful, thanks a lot Marty and Bobby!

    I love how it is "ONLY" $180!!! Only? For me that is a lot of money for a little box to push my guitar into my laptop. Hmmm, wonder if those super cheap $20 things I've seen on Amazon, etc, will work for what I need?

    Thank you for another great video! I have this identical Focusrite interface. Any suggestions on using it with my electro-acoustic guitar? No matter what I do it sounds like garbage 😞 I don’t have the luxury of using a microphone to record so I was hoping I could use an interface.

    Can we do a video like this for iPhone specifically? Many people don’t have computers or want to record on the go without carrying a laptop. Can you help us learn about setups that are phone specific, especially if we want to play/record audio and/or video from the phone as well as from a guitar at once?

    • @kevinshoemaker379
      @kevinshoemaker379 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m getting into this myself…..are you using GarageBand? You can basically do everything he says here. The only difference is instead of having a computer for your DAW, your using your iPhone. The focusrite audio interface, a couple lightning cables,(that’s iPhone connector to 1/4” jack) that’s pretty much all you need to get started. I downloaded Tonerite plugin, it’s compatible with GarageBand and it’s a killer setup!

    Hi, great introduction. As a practical matter, how do you deal with musicians in a studio and the computer station elsewhere. Does each player (or pair) require their own interface. And how does that input get back to a computer that’s more than a cable’s distance away? Thanks.

    I don't have a laptop. I'm looking to buy a used Mac book pro. But not sure which one to get.
    What are the minimums as far as Gigabites, and all that.
    Don't want to buy an inferior laptop that isn't gonna work.

    I use my mustang lt.50 amp as my interface, and run it with amplitude, but I can't seem to figure out this 1 issue, there is a second or 2 second delay from the guitar and sound and it really bothers me, any way to fix this?

    • @BillyBasd
      @BillyBasd 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hope you fixed it.
      I had Rocksmith for Xbox 360 in 2012 using the Rocksmith true tone cable to connect to the Xbox 360.
      When Xbox 360 waa connected to the TV + speakers by hdmi, I had lag. When I used the vga cable + 3.5mm audio cable no lag.
      Sounds like you have a digital connection when you need an analog connection to lessen the lag.
      A audio interface would also work

    I got an interface that wouldn't 'talk' to my computer, it wouldn't recognize it. It was used and I returned it and it worked fine for the seller. Then there's the issues about owner/original purchaser and it has to be registered online with the company or it won't work..and on and on and on. Designed obsolescence is what they staRTED calling it back in the 60's. Same with our dear computers. So many pitfalls.
