I just picked up the S 90 C by Samsung and I have to say it’s an incredible picture. I have been very cautious over Samsung during the years but so far QD lead has really been impressive to me. Can’t say enough good things so far.

Hey mate how are you? Did you get an answer for this? I’ve noticed the tv comes with a super slim wall mount but I don’t think you can use the LED backlights with it.
I totally agree about the remote. Finally someone sensible, every other YT dissing on it. Menawhile I got C2 and S90C, all I use remote for is selecting an app or speak to it to find something. Othereise I use my phone to setup stuff anyway. So the LG remote for me is over done, looks ugly and dated to be honest. I love the elegant look and no need for batteries of Samaung remotes. For thr input shortcut button you can hold the shortcut button and select it there. Albeit my 65" S95B broke and I got money back, I was so impressed with the TV and Customer Service and prices that I got a 77" s90C this time. Thanks ❤ and have a nice evening or day since you're in USA.

Still use a Pioneer Kuro myself, lots of things to love about it of course but one of the things I've always liked about Pioneer TVs is the 'one connect' box. Hate loads of cables trailing from the TV, wish other manufacturers would do this.

Uff that's a lot, I paid 1300€ for 65 S95B in March with 2 years additional warranty and free installation. It broke in July and I got 1800€ back from Samsung due to cashback. I just got a 77"S90C this week for 2200€ + free installation, +15% Samsung rewards points, 36m 0% installemnts, directly from Samsung website.

I picked one up from curry's clearance on ebay for 1200 (65"). Was graded B. There was one or 2 blemishes looking at angle with light shining off a switched off screen but otherwise invisible. Well worth checking out that seller in case another pops up.

Me too. Exactly why I’m holding back, due to lack of Dolby Vision support. Can’t wait for the next one, looking forward to the 2024 CES for Samsung to adapt & introduce Dolby Vision on their OLED TVs.
S95C much better . LG G3 is brighter , but much lower color volume , it can look translucent glass bottle feeling for bright scenes ,,, like Major League sports , their jerseys red look watermelon , yellow looks more lemon pale . 😅 d brighter a tv gets , d more they need color volume !!!!!! Otherwise looks pestle or translucent. I would grab S95C or Hisense U8K any day 9/10 color voume , close to S95C black over G3 . N G3 brightness . No burn in 😊. g3 has weird color seeing it in person in store 😅 . U cant un see it . It’s like SONY has Dense dark Pestle Color forever , LG has this weird overly thick green then now translucent color .

Well u do overrate the S95C. It has indeed better colors but that it's. Luminance and yes dobly vision makes a huge step plus the risk of burn in with warranty on LG is a non Brainer. Also the software UI sucks. No DTS it's a crime. What I do love in Samsung u dont need to tweak it much. But upscale, black levels, brightness and after calibrations LG goes way better.
I had one of these and used it as a gaming display (8+ hour a day avg). It had severe burn in all over after only 6 months of usage but was rebuilt and is fine , however i need to get a new display now because the same thing will just happen again. Don't recommend this for gaming usage. Can't really recommend it at all but im not sure how normal tv usage would effect it's burn in.
Just bought 65inch s95c great picture but volume seems muted, at 65 for normal use but can turn up to maximum without being overly loud! Slightly better on some films. Wondering if I've missed something during set up?

I took a big step back for next 3 yrs & chose size. Went from LG GX 77" to a 98" Samsung Q80c. Oh man the size is worth it. Waiting for 8k 98" sammy to come under 10k, i can't go back 😂. I'm sorry did you say 4 2.0 hdmi ports 😢

Lol imagine ppl live on like the 60 70 floors they are screwed lol. Damn. Cuz those larger units are usually at higher or lower part of buildings. I had to help moving my 65” n 55” i could NOT carry Tv ever again. Most awkward thing to do my hand hurt. I cant imagine d NERV carry an UN Boxed 98” fragile tv upstairs 4 floor . Champ.
After a 42 inch for my gaming set up, time to upgrade my lg 48” c1, been thinking about the c3 42 but waiting to see what the c4 will offer if it comes next year, apart the lg c series and the Panasonic no one else offer 42 inch tv, asus rig 42 inch monitor maybe a consideration
Hey Paul - you were one of the first whistleblowers catching the issues with bending and quality control issues with the samsung S95B. Have you had any access to the S90C so far to see if the panel is built better? It does look like the same casing as the previous year so I don't have a lot of faith in it but always value your opinion. Do you think Tizen OS operates quicker this year around? Have you had any issues with games blacking out on the S95C as other TV reviewers have documented. Thanks as always
@@KryssN1 Thanks for the reply. How about build quality? My S95B arrived bent as did Paul's original one. Not sure how they would fix that in the second iteration given it's the same casing except for the S95C
@@evanrogerson8137 my 65 S95B was not bent. Same with 77 s90C. The TV does feel heavier, but that's 77" so cannot compare directly same size. It seems like the back and framing is made studier. The s90C has a size frame (minimal, but it's there), where as S95B only had back frame. Did not see many horror stories with s90c on internet, so it's QC as 2nd Gen product must be better than S90B. Samsung must have worked out their kinks.

I really wanted my Samsung S95B to be the one when I was considering upgrading from an LG CX for more brightness and vividness but it just felt like a beta product that wasn't fully cooked. Sounds like a lot of this is worked out. I've heard a fair bit about gaming "blacking out" during play which seems to be more so connected to the one connect box of the S95C, you haven't had that happen have you? It never happened to me on the S95B
@@evanrogerson8137 I haven't extensivly tried my PC (5800x3d + RTX 4090) gaming on it yet. The few times I played it was perfect. I also haven't exprienced any blackouts with PS5.
Hi Paul, Question for you. You reviewed the s95b a while ago and had atleast 2 of them that went defuct on you. You're hunch was that the issue was due to Xbox Series X gaming at 120fps and it got the tv too hot. I had this same exact scenerio play out and had to send two of them back becuase they were in a boot loop with screen pixilation. I had been gaming the night before both tvs burned out on me. I would be interested to know if you think the s95c will be prone to the same issue or if Samsung has addressed the defect?

Paul brought the samsung QN800c 8k 65 inch tv but after a week the one connect box satillite connection broke off so I had to get it repaired . The lesson is check the one connect box for any damage and check the connections at the back of the box as well when delivered
Panel lottery?? Thought QD oled panel uniformity was supposed to be much improved. My 77 inch is the cleanest panel I’ve owned. No banding or tint to speak of. It’s a thing of beauty!

Good review and I’ve subscribed. Did anyone tell you that you sound like that chef guy from what appears to be your neck of the woods? Anyway, I enjoyed your review and it’s a tele I’ve given serious consideration to. However, try as I might, I just can get over the lack of Dolby Vision. Whilst I’m not always thinking the DV is the best thing since sliced bread, it’s still nice to have it at least as an option. I do appreciate the brightness of the screen, but I also think the G3 is just as bright and, dare I say, the better of the two, notwithstanding the great (but expensive) Sony A95L which exposes Samsungs poorer processing. Tough decision to make what tele truly is the best one to buy.
There is no point in paying the extra money over S90C if you are not going to use slim fit mount. It looks gorgeous. I wanted to buy the S95C because of clean it looks mounted but ended up buying the S90C because a lot of people online have been saying that S95C has blackout issues when gaming. I'll definitely buy the next year's S95D if they get rid of the blackout issues.
Are most of you going for Samsung? Not lg or Sony? For oled I mean. I love the picture quality, and also The price..but in Terms of reliability, I like lg and Sony better.. but that’s just an opinion not backed by anything..we’ll, except for warranty (both Sony and lg offers 2yrs here, only 1yr for Sammy)..

Would you be confident vesa mounting this TV, i beleive the recommended screws are M6 at just 6/7mm?
I am told M8 and the thread depth is 5 to 6 mm into the body of the tv

@@o.c.g.m9426 i have seen a pic/video in Asia (i was researching reviews of UX trying to see if i should buy it) n saw some ppl could not bring the 100” in d door due to weird angle. They had to like pull from the roof top n take down window lol.. LOL this is going to happen more often.
4th floor still high for TV. Lol imagine ppl live on like the 60 70 floors they are screwed lol. Damn. Cuz those larger units are usually at higher or lower part of buildings. I had to help moving my 65” n 55” i could NOT carry Tv ever again. Most awkward thing to do my hand hurt. I cant imagine d NERV carry an UN Boxed 98” fragile tv upstairs 4 floor . Champ.

After a 42 inch for my gaming set up, time to upgrade my lg 48” c1, been thinking about the c3 42 but waiting to see what the c4 will offer if it comes next year, apart the lg c series and the Panasonic no one else offer 42 inch tv, asus rig 42 inch monitor maybe a consideration
Hey Paul - you were one of the first whistleblowers catching the issues with bending and quality control issues with the samsung S95B. Have you had any access to the S90C so far to see if the panel is built better? It does look like the same casing as the previous year so I don't have a lot of faith in it but always value your opinion. Do you think Tizen OS operates quicker this year around? Have you had any issues with games blacking out on the S95C as other TV reviewers have documented. Thanks as always
I had s95b and got s90c this week, the S90c Tizen works way quicker. The s95b could hang sometimes and had a occassiona lag sometimes.
@@KryssN1 Thanks for the reply. How about build quality? My S95B arrived bent as did Paul's original one. Not sure how they would fix that in the second iteration given it's the same casing except for the S95C
@@evanrogerson8137 my 65 S95B was not bent. Same with 77 s90C.
The TV does feel heavier, but that's 77" so cannot compare directly same size.
It seems like the back and framing is made studier. The s90C has a size frame (minimal, but it's there), where as S95B only had back frame.
Did not see many horror stories with s90c on internet, so it's QC as 2nd Gen product must be better than S90B. Samsung must have worked out their kinks.

I really wanted my Samsung S95B to be the one when I was considering upgrading from an LG CX for more brightness and vividness but it just felt like a beta product that wasn't fully cooked. Sounds like a lot of this is worked out. I've heard a fair bit about gaming "blacking out" during play which seems to be more so connected to the one connect box of the S95C, you haven't had that happen have you? It never happened to me on the S95B

I haven't extensivly tried my PC (5800x3d + RTX 4090) gaming on it yet. The few times I played it was perfect.
I also haven't exprienced any blackouts with PS5.

Hi Paul, Question for you. You reviewed the s95b a while ago and had atleast 2 of them that went defuct on you. You're hunch was that the issue was due to Xbox Series X gaming at 120fps and it got the tv too hot. I had this same exact scenerio play out and had to send two of them back becuase they were in a boot loop with screen pixilation. I had been gaming the night before both tvs burned out on me. I would be interested to know if you think the s95c will be prone to the same issue or if Samsung has addressed the defect?

Well, I can't say for sure, and I'd like to think they have addressed the issue. But so far, so good.

What size bolts did you use to connect the wall brackets to the TV please.
You need 11mm or 12mm M8 bolts
Paul brought the samsung QN800c 8k 65 inch tv but after a week the one connect box satillite connection broke off so I had to get it repaired . The lesson is check the one connect box for any damage and check the connections at the back of the box as well when delivered

Panel lottery?? Thought QD oled panel uniformity was supposed to be much improved. My 77 inch is the cleanest panel I’ve owned. No banding or tint to speak of. It’s a thing of beauty!
@@stevieh771 thats what i thought as well, i guess your lucky. I didnt even put a test on it out of the box , i noticed it right away with a youtube startup. Ive tried the pixel refresh. That didnt do much either.

Anyway, I enjoyed your review and it’s a tele I’ve given serious consideration to. However, try as I might, I just can get over the lack of Dolby Vision. Whilst I’m not always thinking the DV is the best thing since sliced bread, it’s still nice to have it at least as an option.
I do appreciate the brightness of the screen, but I also think the G3 is just as bright and, dare I say, the better of the two, notwithstanding the great (but expensive) Sony A95L which exposes Samsungs poorer processing.
Tough decision to make what tele truly is the best one to buy.
I agree that the lack of Dolby Vision is a bit of a let down.
I'd also lean more towards the G3.

There is no point in paying the extra money over S90C if you are not going to use slim fit mount. It looks gorgeous.
I wanted to buy the S95C because of clean it looks mounted but ended up buying the S90C because a lot of people online have been saying that S95C has blackout issues when gaming.
I'll definitely buy the next year's S95D if they get rid of the blackout issues.
