Few things massage the adrenal gland better than a sufficiently powerful vehicle 4th gear, max rpm approaching 160, shift to 5th and it still PULLS like it's in 2nd or 3rd. To see 200 is something, 205, 210, 215mph limited in this instance by the RAPIDLY shrinking stretch of back country road. But knowing mechanically it's good for 225... *minor erection*
My experience, as a passenger, in a RHD FD RX-7, with a 750hp(estimated, I know it was more) 3rotor. I look forward to trying to best that in my 1984 GM 2001 vortec powered T-body. But I admit, it'll be tough, and expensive.

2:13 what happened: he was drifting with dynamic friction, low traction. Stepping one wheel onto the soil allowed him to get a short boost of traction, but given the wheels had really high RPM This was enough to change the load balance. The load transferred from his rear wheels to one of his front wheels... Temporarily reducing nominal momentum.

The builder of this car obviously didn't use the original gearbox with it five reverse gears. Bloody impressive sounding engine though! Best fun you can have with you clothes on.

About 18 years ago me and my best mate put a Mi16 engine and running gear in his mint condition H Reg 205 Roland garros convertible. Back then 20 years ago we thought that it fast as fook but it’s not even close to this beast. When it says “3 rotor” does it mean 3 rotary engines????
Sounds a lot better with the volume turned off ;-) Each to there own I guess, but to me it's just a loud unattractive noise. I remember from 30+ years ago watching some sort of Mazda rotary at the Silverstone 6hrs, Everytime it came round you had to cover your ears, otherwise it was literally painful. Give me a piston engine with more than 4 cylinders anyday for a enjoyable sound.

Just an pose car. Suspension is completely unsorted - eg: rebound on rear shocks, it literally has wheels off the ground most of the time, so no traction! The driver is just hopeless too, needs to learn throttle CONTROL.

So, honest question here... In comparison to a standard Peugeot 205, it has (from quick glance), new rear body panels, replacement of the frame (perhaps) with a new frame, different suspension, different engine, different interior... what is it that makes it a Peugeot 205? (This question is for "stock cars" too.. there's so many things changed out from a showroom-floor car, that are they really considered to be that same car still? Or is it just that it looks like the 205? I mean, I could rebuild a copy of my old 1980 Toyota Tercel, using a tubular frame, v6 engine, fiberglass body, racing seats etc... but is it still considered to be a Tercel?
This is not stock car class, it's "prototype" class.
Aswell in rallye, you had the F group... a R5 T look but a megane underbody and engine.

Horrible sounding engine, just agrrrrgggghhhhh. With all the controllability of modern ECUs yet they still can't smooth out the surging of a rotary at idle.
As for the car, it drives like it has absolutely no shock absorbers, it looks like a bounce house on wheels.
More people should be doing rotary swaps when it comes to race cars cuz they have ridiculous RPMs retuning a stock 13B you can go 10 grand
The hood and headlights appear to be from different year-models of the car... but who cares when it jumps, shoots fire, throws monster dirt clouds, AND sounds like that?

The only part that is Peugeot 205 on this thing is the rear lights, the nose/hood is of a 106 and the headlights seem to come from a 306. Also, the person driving it isn't doing a very good job, missing shifts and spinning the car.
The only rotary worth anything is a gas turbine.
Wankels showed great promise but have proven to be a big disappointment. How many miles do you think this car in the vid can go in real life ? Any piston-engined car can do what this car is doing,and for a hell of a lot longer I say.

It doesn't sound 100% correct to me. I get the rev limiter kicking in but like when he was following the official car at the start of the vid., it was not running clean & I don't think it was the rev limiter. Off & on during his run, you can hear it not running clean and not on the limiter. I DO love the sound of a rotary, though!
That thing sounds like a billion pissed off human sized killer bees! Great build, great effort... but honestly it seems like it has a bit too much power which makes it somewhat uncontrollable at times.
