That part scared me so much as a kid. The way the Parasite Queen moved and looked was just terrifying. It truly was the stuff of nightmares as a kid
Same, I was scared to death of this game. And what sucks is that the song for this boss fight definitely didn't help either.

they were indeed, especially from a spiritual PoV! Metroid is a divine game, it symbolically represents what we are facing right now and in close future: fighting and defeating the mental parasites in our own universe/ mind (space). Encountering the lies of society within our minds, being brave and face them to clean up in love. We all have the power suit. we all have chozo wisdom in us. we are chosen kids to bring love and light to this planet. we all are Samus Aran the light warrior. It's the least sold but oldest game of Nintendo because it represents the story and truth of humanity, truth has been hidden from us for ages, its all coming up right now into our conscious. If you played Metroid as a kid and were afraid of the parasite queen, as I did, now we are grown up and can beat it to clean up this planet so we can live in love :) Believe in yourself, be like Samus Aran! It's not a coincidence that we played this game from an ego perspective.
Glad I'm not the only one who was freaked out by this boss as a kid. Weird how nostalgia makes you remember things looking better than they really were.

I love how the scanning profile of this Parasite Queen references the pirate's "bioengineering program", giving a preview and foreshadowing events to come within the game's plot.
Worldbuilding was superb in the Prime series. The Chozo tablets in the ruins even indicate that the ghosts are watching Samus navigate through the Ruins in the present time. I also loved the part where the Pirates attempted and failed to replicate the Morph Ball tech.

I always thought that thing was in cell trap in smash bros but now that I’ve seen what actually happen, it’s just there because it wants to be there

This part always scared the piss out of me when I was little. This was honestly a really good game imo.
This was my first ever Metroid game, back in the GameCube days. I’d always heard of Samus through the OG smash bros and had one day gotten a GameCube and wanted to try Samus’s game. So I got Metroid Prime. It was not what I had pictured…As a kid, I was not expecting the horror aspect. And I was scared shitless in this part. Now though, Metroid is my favorite Nintendo franchise.

When I was younger, this game scared the life out of me. This was probably the only GameCube game that I didn't play because of how damn scary this game was to me. Also, revisiting this boss fight, I thought the Parasite Queen would be bigger than that.
Her babies appeared small to Samus, but if you think about it, even the babies are large by Earth insect standards. The queen was huge, and the pirates gave her a laser beam LOL.

Despite how easy this Boss fight was, this boss was my favorite for how crazy she looks and honestly couldve had more potential
She was designed to teach the player basic fundamentals. Scan the boss, use the lock on, and strafe.
Metroid Prime Trilogy was beyond even our modern standards of imagination
I had the video on mute while listening to the soundtrack for the game, with the Parasite Queen theme coming on right as she appeared, and everything synced up from there!
Metroid Prime still has one of the best openings of any video game. It immediately sucks you into the setting and atmosphere and prepares you for the great adventure that you’ll embark on.

Man. I remember my adrenaline being so high because of this boss. Scared the shit out of me. Especially with the music and the “evacuate immediately “
I normally bump-fire missiles and kill this boss in 2 seconds, so I forgot how cool the design of this thing is! The way it moves is just so fantastic and gross

@@brunomilocchi4979 Depends on your perspective of "better". The Wii motion control made it impossible to get the Space Jump at the beginning of the game.
@@brunomilocchi4979 I love the aiming, and the ability to control the body and head separately with the Wii controllers. I think overall it helped to up the difficulty if you wanted by allowing for lock on targeting without locking your shots for you, and updated the controls from the GC which now feel awful and unnatural for an FPS game. But some people hated it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I will grant, the use of the stupid nunchuck for the grapple beam/attempt to make more extensive use of the motion controls for things other than aiming (like little puzzles, and bars that you pull) in prime 3 were awful.

The question is - why wouldn't Samus just leave the queen parasite alone? After all, it was already doing the work of destroying the ship for her.
1. The parasite queen's dead body falling into the reactor caused the ship to kaboom
2. A bunch of kaboom'd parasites are too dead to spread on Tallon IV

2007 8yo, i was at toys r us and my mom told me to choose a game for my gamecube, saw the robot with the weaponized arm and i was convinced to give it a try, i remember this mission, my room was dark af and my old analog tv give me weird vibes while playing this game particularly, i was so fckin scared looking at the dead and wounded pirates in the ship, i was asking myself who tf could do that to them, and then saw this creature, i paused the game for like 15 mins to mentalize myself lmao, this game made me a gamer.

looking back from the remaster, the shadowing and "weird pregnant kicking" the queen has seemed to look more intimidating than the well lit, slightly smaller version of it in remaster.
the movement also makes it look bigger.

And? Have you enjoyed it?? I think prime can be really frustrating as you're starting until you get to Tallon IV, (maybe even until you get past Flaahgra) because the way Retro went about an intro was a little bit more "trial by fire", and a little less intuitive than intros of games today.
But I love the ambiance, music, and the tone of being the lone bounty hunter, rooting out the mystery on an alien planet... and that you can dig into your scans to get more story and lore, or leave it and just play the game for the gameplay and ambiance alone.
If you didn't like Prime, you should consider trying Super Metroid, which is kind of the epitome of 2D platforming/often part of the inspiration for lots of 2D platformers that followed.
