Thanks for the video! I really appreciate anybody who is creating content on this subject! For your safety, on the table saw, you should not ever leave small pieces of material between the blade and the fence. That piece can get launched at you at really high speed and do a ton of damage. The safest way to do this is with a cross cut sled.
For the thru hole drill it’s best to use a 3 flute drill bit. They are usually available from a machinist supply center and not at your big box stores.
I don't know how this got to be on my feed, I've been searching for "Rocky and Bullwinkle" cartoons, and this popped up. Thinking this might be a previously unknown animation, I watched the whole thing....now I have the know-how to make a suppressor, but I have no need for it, because I lost all my guns in a tragic boating accident years ago. Oh me oh my, whatever should I do with this esoteric knowledge? How will it help me with the search for more Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons?! I don't know. I just have to take things day by day. 🤠
This is extremely odd. I was searching for Tom and Jerry cartoons. I wonder if he has "cartoon" in his search terms? Were you on the same boat with me that went down? That would be too huge of a coincidence, I guess. I wish I had left my guns at home that day, like my wife tried to tell me...
For all you folks who value you little fingers or big fat fingers. Fingers of all sizes dont really matter im going to give you a very valuable piece of advice!!!! DO NOT WEAR GLOVES OF ANY KIND OR LOOSE FITTING LONG SLEEVE SHIRTS ON ANY MACHINES YOU FIND IN A MACHINE SHOP EVER!! MILLS, LATHES ( SHOULD BE A NO BRAINER?, DRILL PRESS. Some things ok say a CNC. Be Smart if theres even a 1% chances you could get caught in a machine dont do it. A lathe with rip your arm off and could kill you. Drills will rip hands off!! Follow these rules keep your 🙌👍🤙
We had a man who hated getting his hands dirty where I was plant manager with another man. So, this guy, a skilled welder, was put on a machine rolling rings and told him not towear gloves. We showed him how, watched him, came back after a couple and he was fine. We were walking away and he had put on his gloves and we herd him yeall. The machine grabbed his glove and he lost a finger. Also, best not to wear rings. I almost lost a finger due to my wedding ring getting caught. I was lucky but quit wearing my ring when working machines or welding.
ABSOLUTELY TOP NOTCH INFO!!! seriously you should make more vidoes this is by far the best video and info and technique out there, i have spent 2-3 hours a day for the last week trying to find this info and its all here in one place step by step with basic tools, well done sir well done
An XY vise on a drill press can be an excellent tool to make things easier too. They're not cheap though... but they're nowhere near the cost of a mill. I can't even say how insanely useful having one on a drill press has been for me though. (even my crappy one with bent lead screws and an out of line, unlevel base between the jaws).
I am curious. Does it matter if the clipped baffles are all aligned all the way down the bore? I am doing a Modular suppressor which I just received approval on my form 1 via the ATF filing individual and electronically. Applied Aug 18th and approved Nov 11th (about 3 months) What do I do with my suppressor as far as clipping the baffles? I have the KM Whisper 7.8” stainless steel modular solvent trap kit. I was able to get it drilled on my drill press with a jig but I’m curious as to how I should clip the baffles. I don’t believe there is any way to align them all perfectly once they’re all put together. Any idea, suggestions or knowledge someone could share on this would be awesome
Aligned asymmetric 👍… also, a straight line marked down the entire outside of all baffles tightened to how they’ll be, will give a decent reference for clips
very nicely done!!! Does the alignment of the baffels matter after doing the DHC. (EG Baff1 clocked 0 Baff 2 clocked +45or90deg Baff 2 clocked +90or135 Baff 3 etc) Being that the cuts are symmetrical I would think no.....
Seriously bro? Its in the video text and in the video description. Same as my other videos lol people asking where I got the parts. Read the info in video description lol.
Most of these links have been removed from youtube and amazon, what caliber was this for as I am trying to follow it for a 22lr can but don't want to order parts until I am sure. thanks!
I am assuming these are aluminum? What about stainless or Ti baffles? It's not so easy using a drill press. Wondering if you have any insight on working with stainless or Ti?
Ok different materials have different cutting speeds, generally the harder stuff is cut slower with more torque, how rigid your setup is makes all the difference, this being a drill press and not a milling machine it's built not so much for handling perpendicular cutting with an endmill ..... we're splitting hairs hear. It works for the most part run with it

Violated every safety rule of every tool used. Why do I suspect this video is made by the ATF? Perhaps they think that you will have a harder time violating their rules with only 7 fingers.
Well he violated almost every other safety rule in the world he's trying to be safe and keep his fingers in one neat little package when the drill bit grabs out to that fabric and rips them off so he can tell the doctor here. My fingers are in the glove here
Very, Very bad advice. Most drill presses have a Jacob taper quill to chuck fitment. they are not threaded o n. the vibration of a mill cutter will cause the chuck to vibrated off the spindle at high speed and become a cutting, slicing, chewing projectile that can you cannot predict what direction it will go next. Very exciting times in the shop, and very dangerous times! D not mill on a drill press. They are not meant to be used in lateral loads. KnifeMaker

Being that they are symmetrically clipped it doesnt matter. if it was single (asymmetric) clipped then they would need to be oriented.
Welcome to the "list" boys.
I still have my Totality Industries sticker.
If you were in the game at that time, you're a G. 😅
Any estimate on how durable it will be? Can anyone with a good garage make that or does one need a special license?
Its stainless steel so it will be very durable. Its whats used by the big pro companies.

What drill press at what rpm when using the end mills? Curious if a cheap harbor freight or northern tool drill press will work.

You really shouldn't be wearing gloves while operating a drill press. It's not pretty when the glove gets caught in the bit.
