Love the roses. I have a big one and I have it since 2013. It still has its shape. I put it in a closed glass, like the beauty and the beast one but smaller. I thought it would last for three years maximum but it is doing a great job during the seven years. 💕
I love the ambience videos, I made a whole playlist and add to it every time I find a new one! Some of my favourites are Harry Potter and LOTR themed, but also seasonal and weather ones like being inside while the autumn leaves fall or while there’s a storm outside. They are so good for concentrating and focusing on work!
I'm a huge harry potter fan, so i often listen to harry potter ambiente on youtube :) There some cool videos over 2-3 hours (i like the promodoro ones), like studying in the library with hermine while it's raining. Love that. Also great video like always! :)
Sarra, your kids are SO CUTE. I'm not participating in NaNo, rather finishing up my Master's thesis (though, it's due the day NaNo ends!) and your videos definitely give me a much needed dose of inspiration!
Since the first lockdown, I've been obsessed with different sorts of cafe ambiances on TH-cam. My favorite thing to do is to pick an ambiance that's similar to the scene that I'm writing, so I can really immerse myself in the book. Also ASMR typing helps me because if I have it play in a tab underneath all of my other tabs, it sounds like I'm at a write-in, lol.
Oooh, I *love* listening to Lofi while writing! I currently have a 'Avatar: the last airbender Lofi' 1+ hour thing that I play on repeat when I write. The picture is calming and the music is perfect as background noise to drown out all the extra brain-noise that tries to take over when I write, heehee.
Good morning, Sarra. Family First! I like the channel Autumn Cozy. She does some cool ambiance stuff to work by. I'm on the road for 2 more days. Haven't gotten any writing in but have been working stuff through my head while I drive. Today I'm able to stop at a hotel and actually write until check out tomorrow. I get a late checkout so should be able to write until about 1. So ready! Creative Blessings!
The same thing with the whole re-direction of 2020, I've just recovered from having 8-10 days off sick. I haven't been sick this whole year and I think the stress just built up. I'm focusing on catching up with my NaNo but I'm super behind, I'm writing in December as well. Also surviving lockdown , I play rain sounds from my Google Home
Wow, this is so awesome! I wanted to participate in NaNoWriMo, too this year. But I didn't make it still now. I will start today with NaNoWriMo. So let's see how far I can get with that haha.
I used to listen to Chilled Cow but didn't bookmark it - I guess my old browser just autofilled it and I went back. Thanks for posting the link. These days, I like listening to the Alex Dav Channel. He plays the hang drum and kalimba. The Calm Whale Channel is great for that with windchimes and nature sounds mixed in. I dunno what kind of music it is, I just call it 'spa sounds' coz it's soothing and similar to what I've heard while getting a massage at a spa once. Thanks for the update. I struggled for a couple of days but got back into it for a few hours today. I'm looking forward to the weekend when I can have more time to focus on writing.
I'm struggling with pacing. I'm already at 32,000 words in the beginning of Act 3. I think I may have to go back and add a few more scenes to Acts 1 and 2. I'm not giving up though. I got 3,400 words in yesterday for Day 1 of the retreat. Thanks for the motivation. I listen to white noise while I write, like fan and rain sounds.
Definitely feeling the mid-month slump. Hit my 50k yesterday but definitely not the end of my plot, so I'm still truckin' along. My focus app tells me I was working for just under 6 hours today, but I only have 3966 words to show for it. 😖 So that's disheartening. I'm going back to rewatch your pep talk again, 'cause apparently I need it. I'm tired.
I love the Lo Fi stuff, I either listen to that or Afro Beats when I'm writing or painting. I've been dictating this week so I have to be careful with music with lyrics so that stuff works perfectly. Also
Great writing vlog. NaNoWriMo has been a great journey for me too. Good luck with managing your new schedule with the kiddo. I wish they would shut down the schools here again. Peace!
Still plugging away! I'm past 32K now. I'm about 1K behind a day so I need the weekend. I've been listening to a few fireplace ones because the hearth features so much in my book. Although it was weird when we had a heat wave when all I wanted was a stiff breeze.
I do a lot of the library rain ASMR channels, but I find I can only do that when I'm doing the first draft. It just distracts me when I'm editing and I don't know what's different. One of my sons is going through a growth spurt so his joints and muscles are bothering him. I know I'm not tall, but he's going to be taller than me by the time he's like 6. He's already taller than his 3-year-old cousin. His twin thinks he's a cat and keeps trying to fit in the cat condo and since they are so big for almost 2 he's getting stuck a lot. And fights me when I try to help him out.
My daughter listens to Slow Cow while she's doing her homework. I've also used The Guild of Ambience a bit when writing, but I love to listen to the rain on the windows type ones to sleep.
NANOWRIMO has been good for me. I’ve found that weekends are the hardest for me to write, but plan for them throughout the week. Question: when will your 2021 HB90 planner come out?
The goals planner likely won't be out until the 11th. It's later than I had hoped but it can't be helped. The quarterly will be out sooner but I don't have a date yet.
I think I'm addicted to these vlogs... I don't watch television, but I'm enjoying these episodes :-) Just wondering where you get your other music from? Cheers from Oz!
I'm guessing since my first book was a 25k word novelette and my second upcoming book is a 27k word novelette that my third book is gonna be a 30k word novella. I'm creeping up on my first official novel
Hello again! How's it going for you? Are you sticking with it? Feeling tired? Give me all the details!
Last week the words flowed. This week, not so much, but I didn't have any zero words day so still moving forward.
I was able to hit 40K last night and I’m sooooo stoked!

Wow!!
Love the music in the background on this video! I'm about to dive into a three hour block of editing. Loving these Nano vlogs Sarra.xx

Can you do “Sarra Cannon diaries” after NaNo? Lol
Haha, it might kill me to do them daily, but it makes me beyond happy that you're enjoying it!
(And not at all to mean I'm not enjoying it, too, because I truly love these. It's really fun! But it's a lot of work for every day, haha.)
@@HeartBreathings Definitely not every day! But I'd also love to see an occasional repeat of this type of video!
Yes....PLEASE
@@HeartBreathings ahh yea daily would be too much to do! Lol but just in general :)

YES! Those are two of my fave background sound channels!! 💖💖💖💖
That’s so funny. I JUST discovered these youtube channels with different settings and music. I love the coffee shops ones.

@@HeartBreathings Thank you :) Yeah no try no way haha :)
You have beautiful children and a wonderfully flexible attitude! Love it!

I've also got a mystery book I'm working on that right now is 9k plus words. At the pace I'm going, it could be the 50+k novel I've been waiting on

Oh man, I used the heck out of that chill lofi radio for schooling!!
Building a city? How is your son doing that? A special program! Sounds neat! Hope you had/have a good vacation!
I would love to know where you got your standing desk from! I've been looking to get one that raises and lowers ☺️
Great writing vlog. NaNoWriMo has been a great journey for me too. Good luck with managing your new schedule with the kiddo. I wish they would shut down the schools here again. Peace!
50 other tabs up 🆙. I can relate 😄
This is not about writing at all but you have two of the cutest kiddos! They're adorable!
Everything crossed for you xx

Your son is a cutie pie! I also have a red-headed boy. He's 23 now but I still think he's a cutie too! :)
When I was doing my post-grad I would put on a three hour chilled cow video and pause it every time I took a break. Thats how I kept track of my time

Hey.. I'm Minnie.. you're Hello Kitty Sarra... I need that Minnie Mouse coffee cup lol💜❤💜❤🥰
I appreciate you.

Are you writing on google docs or final draft? Curious and. A baby writer.
I write in Google docs!
First one yay!!!

If I could gift you anything it would be signed copies of my books when they are all complete or at least attach the link to buy them
Hi Sarra...🥰🧚♀️❤💜
I work best in coffee shops so I have the app Coffitivity on my phone ❤️
