    Mind bending cutting depth for wood. CNC being used for the dramatic dimensions instead of all flat work. Interesting deciding on what wood to use so it stays solid. Great video too.

    Built one on my DIY CNC for my grandkid who loves the caped crusader! Was the perfect holiday gift. Thanks! I learned a lot from this project, especially in Fusion 360! Best...

      Awesome Mark! You are the first person I have heard of that has duplicated it. I'm glad you got it figured out and made one!

      @@CorbinDunn Some photos of it as a work in progress on my Twitter feed at twitter.com/search?q=(from%3Amark_lawler)%20%23diycncproject&f=live. Instructional video for the little guy who was VERY excited by it this week at th-cam.com/video/g9FeeFd5U5A/w-d-xo.html when he opened it as one of his "early" gifts. One day I want to revisit this project with some quality wood stock. Unfortunately, I glued up 8 pieces of scrap wood, hence the black wood stain, which just doesn't do justice to the angles and curvatures you modeled.

    Nice. I don't have a cnc machine, but I've been searching for a good locking mech to lock my boxes, and this one is very clever. It's exactly what I was looking for. And thank u SO much for actually explaining the build verbally.. I can't stand these videos that simply show you the pieces then show the assembly without any narration. Those are cool if youre not looking for a how to tutorial, and are just interested in watching someone demonstrate what they can do. Most folks actually don't learn simply by watching. Thank you very much for the content. I'm going to implement this lock on a box I'm building today. I'll post the video. If you're interested to see how I used it I'll post a link right here when I'm finished. If u respond to this and tell me you'd rather not have the link posted here, then I understand and I won't do it. I'll also post a link to this video for credit for the lock, on my channel, altho I'm a small potatoes guy. think I might have like, 9 subscribers (and I'm sure like 3 of them are my mom lol) anyways, thanks again. I've Subscribed and followed 😁

      Awesome Kyle! I'm glad it helped you get some ideas. Definitely follow up with a link of what you end up making - I'm super interested to see how it turns out.

    Oh....I am so dumb...! how come I haven't noticed this project yet..!? Really inspired me..! Please do more functional CNC enabled features like this more..! I really like the CAMLOCK Mechanism..! I would like to see more concealed type features like this. including such features in furniture would earn attention ..!

      We Could use a retainer spring mechanism to withdraw the pins. I think We can salvage from vehicle carburettors

      Ah yeah, this was a while ago! A super fun project. I definitely want to do more clever stuff like this in furniture.

    Great video. Great locking mechanism. One way I can think of drilling in that tight space is by using a 90 degree angle drill attachment from a drill press to be precise.

      Whoa! I didn't know those existed, and it looks like they would work perfectly for something like that. Thanks!

    one option for the locking return of the pins would be to use a spring to return the pins to the center. u could stop the spring from coming out the other side by using a plug or small set screw this was an awesome project! good job

      @CorbinDunn  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Springs are a good idea -- I did some conceptual experimentations with them, but I couldn't find a simple way to stop them; the springs would have to push out to latch...and making them come back in a compressed state is what was difficult for me to figure out.
